Today he became a great dentist in my eyes, the best in fact . I had to have an implant done that I'd been putting off for a couple of years. I've never been a fan of the dentist ever since having some bad experiences as a child. Dr. Smith was excellent from start to finish . The preplanning appointments a few weeks ago, the actual implant process today all of it was smooth and dare I say fun ! Dr. Smith was very conscious of making sure that I felt nothing during the procedure and we even had a nice conversation as he took breaks from drilling a titanium screw into my jaw . Literally could not have asked for a better experience. Shout out to his assistant Trish who was in there helping him today as well. Oh and did I mention I had my procedure this morning .. it's a beautiful sunny Friday and as he promised he would , Dr. Smith called me at 645PM on a rare sunny Friday In Seattle . He was calling to check in and see how I was feeling. I'm blown away and I would highly recommend Dr. Smith to anyone who is looking for the best of the best .

He and his staff has been tremendous. Like many, I procrastinated in visiting a dentist, but I was long over due. West Seattle Dentistry also accepted Medicare and my insurance so it was an easy choice. My appointments never…read morelast more than an hour (I've even gotten out of a cleaning in 40 minutes!), I am able to get in quickly for services outside of cleaning, and I never feel pushed to go through with a procedure without seeing corraborating evidence that something needs to be taken care of (even then I am always reassured that I have time and it doesn't need to be right away). All the doctors and hygienists I have seen are knowledgable and have made me feel comfortable. If I need to take care of something based on my exam, I am always given adequate financial information before I leave the office and before booking the appointment. They are consistent with that and will follow up to make sure you understand what your out of pocket looks like before you commit. The doctors, hygienists, front desk, estimators, and everyone who works there, only have the patients best interest at heart. I consistently refer friends to Dr Saturay's office.

WHAT THEY DO WELL…read more The staff are professional and helpful. I've never has any issue getting an appointment in a reasonable mount of time. They are also good at working with insurance providers. The exam rooms are clean and provide ample privacy. (The same is not true for a competitor just down the road) ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT I Seemed to be at the mercy of the dentist on shift whenever I went in. I prefer a little more consistency for the sake of patient continuity. Unfortunately, while the service I received seemed great at the time, I ultimately ended up with 2 failed crowns, and each time was referred to an Endo for a root canal. In both cases, the root canal was halted mid-procedure due to the fact that the tooth was cracked to the bottom of the root in multiple places. The Endo claimed that in both cases the DDS should have seem this in x-ray and never crowned in the first. The only good option from the beginning was to extract and get an implant (or denture). Since this office doesn't perform those services, one can only guess they wanted to get paid for the crown work, costing me the patient thousands of unnecessary dollars and much discomfort. To be fair, the crown did postpone the extraction by several years. SUMMARY If you are just looking for cleanings and basic dentistry at a convenient location that is clean and accommodating, this is a great place. If you require any care of a more serious nature and want to work with someone you can trust, look elsewhere.
