I went through the automatic car wash and the garage door to exit wouldn't open all the way so I was stuck inside. I called the number and tried to text and no one responded. I finally had to lift as much as I could and try to crawl out and finally it opened enough to get my car out (my car is short luckily). This was 3 hours ago and they still haven't responded (I called/texted within their customer service business hours). If I couldn't have opened it what would I do? Call the cops? I understand mechanical issues happen but customer service needs to be available during regular business hours. read more

This is one of my favorite places to wash my car because of the prices and easy-to-use self-wash system! This car wash is located in the middle of a shopping plaza. There are 3 available slots to wash your car and 2 or 3 vacuum areas in front of the wash locations. You can either use credit card or coins. One credit card swipe gives you a certain amount of time and if you use more time, the amount swiped will just increase as you go. I've been able to wash my whole car in about one swipe. I forgot how much it is, but I think it was either $3.00 or $5.00 for one swipe and enough time for me to rinse, scrub, and rinse my coupe. There are complimentary clean dry rags right outside the wash and you're able to wipe your car with as many as you need and can put them in the "dirty/used" bucket. I think it's a very nice gesture from this small business. read more

The drive through car wash leaves your car dirtier than before/doesn't do anything at all. Windows, doors, front of the car all still dirty after wash. read more

Today, 10/12/2002, per their sign on the menu of washing choices, I bought the $8 full-brush car wash with a debit card. Holladay Car Wash billed my account $12. The car wash itself was decent. I had to hand dry the drops that the blow-dry mechanism missed, which is okay. Management needs to bring the prices on their menu of washing choices up-to-date. UPDATE: Today, 10/14/2002, I checked my account and, without my asking, Holladay Car Wash electronically adjusted the charge on my statement to reflect the price stated on the washing choice menu. Definitely the best self-service Carwash I've been to. Extremely clean Vacuums and air work great and lots of options for the car wash wax wheel cleaner and such. Very easy to use and takes debit and credit cards. Appears to be open all night in order to squeeze in that extra car cleaning. Highly recommend if you want to run and clean your car. read more

This is the best Self Service Car Wash I've found in the Salt Lake area. I live closer to downtown Salt Lake, and have several Self Service Car Washes around me, but choose to drive the extra 10 minutes to the Holladay Car Wash because it is always cleaner and better maintained than the others, and doesn't cost anything extra. On top of that, their machines accept credit cards/Apple Pay for both the vacuums and the washes, and they have Air Shammees in the self washes as well. Air Shammees are basically big blow dryers. I haven't found those at any of the other local shops. They also have a large bay, in case you need to clean a truck or RV. I really like Holladay Car Wash and will likely continue to use them for the foreseeable future. read more

If you plan on going for their automatic wash, plan on drying it yourself. Their dryer literally dried nothing so we drove away with water beaded all over our car. Every automatic car wash I've been through, while not getting it 100% dry, usually has a dryer strong enough to remove most of the water. Not this one. read more

Good parts first. Bays are huge, as in really enormous. I do believe I could probably fit my pickup with a trailer in here, possibly even 2 cars, though that wouldn't leave a ton of space to walk around. The place is also clean, looks reasonably well-maintained, has relatively easy access and is on the inexpensive side. Pressure is also pretty good on the hoses. The bad side is that whatever detergents they are using are not the strong variety. Due to my job, my vehicles tend to get washed a lot and I don't often have time to haul out the sponge and bucket, so hand-washing is fairly rare and I both don't like and can't use the automatic washes, even if I somehow did like the usual shitty job they do, which leaves the coin-op wand variety. There are some really good ones out there, but this, alas is not one of them, even when I resorted to using the brush, which I don't typically have to do, even when a given vehicle is coated in bugs, at the better places. I will note there was nothing unusual about this wash. I did both a wash and wax prior to a road trip, came back and even with hitting it twice with the brush, struggled to even get the road dust off of it, let alone the bugs. I was there for much longer than necessary and while it wasn't a pile of money, it definitely took way longer for an ultimately somewhat substandard job than it should have. read more

Today was the second time I tried Holladay Car Wash. The facility is top notch when it comes to a self-service wash and I loved my first experience. Added bonus was that I could pay via an app. Unfortunately, I tried using the app earlier today and it 1) never synced with the bay that I was in yet I was still charged and 2) I was charged more than the app had listed when I checked my credit card statement. I tried contacting the car wash directly but have not heard back regarding a refund. I ended up paying for my wash with my credit card. The billing on that was confusing, too. The little card reader in the bay I was in said one total but my credit card statement said a higher amount. Hoping someone can help resolve my issue. I want to love this place. read more

I've been searching high and low for a good self serve car wash. I tried this location this morning and was very pleased except one important thing. I liked that the car wash has many options to pay, has great volume of water and possibilities for wax, etc. It seems well attended to do by the owners--they care. That seems to be a unique quality in the self serve car wash business about town. Big issue for me was the suction of the westerly vacuum was virtual non-existent. The hose just chased bits of dirt around the carpet. I came home and pulled out my little shop vac which did the trick. I just wish owner(s) would up grade or better maintain vacuum. Liz read more

When this car wash is working it does a fine job. But there are many other failures that aren't being addressed. The payment systems are totally unreliable. They have Apple Pay but I've never been able to get it to work. There is a new app based system that is supposed to give you a $10 credit but it didn't work and I never received any credit. It also has the bay numbers mislabeled so I'm not sure how it's ever going to work. I've experienced to other issues with having to pay twice to get the machine to work and paying for the automatic wash and have it do nothing. There is a phone number contact for issues, which I used each time there were issues. It is generally ignored and then one time the owner/manager responded he promised to issue a refund and acknowledged he knew there was a problem. But then he gave excuses why he could not issue the reimbursement and then just started ignoring messages. When everything works this is a convenient location for me and it's great. But I've been ripped off 3 times for a total of $30 with a complete refusal to address by management so it earns 1 star and I would advise using some of the other local options where I have not had these issues. read more

Pros: Sprayer wands, hoses are in good condition. Brush tool was clean and was the soft long-hair type that's easy on auto paint and finishes. Bays were reasonably clean, free of mud and dirt on the floor Cons: 1) Wash and rinse sprayer pressure was really low (perhaps to conserve water and save the owner money?). The pressure coming from the wand nozzle wasn't much more than the garden hose sprayer at my own house. In fact, it was so low that it took longer and didn't do as good of job as the typical manual car washes usually do. 2) I used a credit/debit card instead of quarters in the machine. It doesn't indicate how much it's costing - doesn't even give a final price. I washed and rinsed my car for only 7 minutes. A few days later I checked my bank charges and it cost me a whopping $10 for a 7-minute manual wash!!! You can buy a automatic or full-service was for less than that! This place is a huge rip-off in my experience. They run their wash pressure low to save $ on water and soap, but then also extremely overcharge on the credit/debit card option without any kind of indication or warning. It merely says "$2 minimum for cards", but then they charge like $2.00 per minute. Total rip off. I won't be using Holliday Car Wash anymore. read more
