So... before you Yelp!ers read any further, I should warn you that, in case you didn't sniff it out (no pun intended) from the other reviews, I am about to review my colonic experience. Yeah I know... (listens to awkward silence in the room) ...but actually, once you get over the idea that this is a procedure that could be very invasive to a very private, usually-taboo-to even-your-doctor area... the awkwardness goes away. Seriously. This is by far one of the best ways I've discovered to cleanse my system, clean the pipes so to speak, and though yes I was TERRIFIED at first, now that I've done it... I'm not sure what took me so long. Fatima is one of the best holistic practioners I've ever met. Very professional and organized, and yet also charming and funny. She put me at ease right away, and even held my hand and coached me through when I was feeling nauseated halfway through the experience (my fault for not breathing properly, not hers). And the results are incredible - I just had my first colonic this weekend and already I'm feeling lighter, more energetic and my skin has cleared up. That said, the difference between a colon cleansing that will having you coming back for more versus one that could traumatize you for life is all dependent on the practitioner. PLEASE, this is coming from a self-confessed penny-pinching frugalista... don't cheap out on this one. I mean if you decide to get it done, YES they are really going to stick a tube down there and YES you do want someone as professional, knowledgeable and patient as Fatima and YES it is worth paying the premium for someone of her caliber. So why not just go visit Fatima instead? And seriously, she is NOT expensive. Out of respect for her business I won't mention numbers here, but let's just say she's very realistic about people's means to afford these treatments and will work something out with you if you really want to try this unconventional but very effective procedure. This was my first ever colonic experience and I enjoyed it. I'll be getting more of these in future, just not here. The first visit was pleasant enough, and Fatima is very nice and personable (the reason for 2 and not 1 star), but after I paid and signed up for an additional 2 sessions there was a drop-off in service. Disregard what is listed on the website. Probiotics were never offered, Reflexology never happened. And my 1 customized holistic wellness tele-session was never mentioned. After I paid for all my sessions aromatherapy was no longer offered, half a glass of coconut water (the "post-colonic electrolyte elixir") happened two out of the three times. She got me confused with another client on my second visit. Everyone's human. I don't care if my mechanic gets me confused with someone else who drives the same car, but doctors and people involved in putting things in my ass or touching my body should make the effort to properly identify a client. The soothing music is a smooth listening radio station, so if you love radio commercials as much as I do, you're in luck. There are lots of them. Lastly, there is a high-pitched whine from the water pipes that happens at random intervals while you are relaxing and having your innards hosed out. How can you not love Fatima? I had been meaning to give her a call for the past 2 years. As my 30th birthday rolled around, I figured it was finally time to call. Okay, coming from a colonic virgin and from someone who has been in need of one for the past 10 years and from someone who suffers from constipation, gas issue, and not to mention goin up to 4 days without a movement.... If you're reading this you're probably like me - reading up on "what's a colonic" - and investigating "do they even work?" Believe me... I was on the internet doing to colonic tour... I searched EVERYWHERE to find the right place.... I never had a colonic, nor even thought I would. However when I was having severe issues... and the "doctors" didn't have any answers for me - I was on line doing my homework - and I thank God I found Fatima. And yes, I ended up reading some of her reviews on Yelp. I read some "hype" but you never know with a review right. However something told me this was the right place to go. And I was right. With the most sincere and authentic praise I can honestly tell you should you have a colonic, let this woman help you. I say this because what she did for me was beyond what i had expected. First, Fatima is a pro. She's a calm and very informed person who takes her time to not only make sure you feel comfortable, but guides you every step of the way so there's nothing to fear. Second, you get an education on what may have brought you to her in the first place... (i.e.) the foods you are eating and how you can improve your digestion. She doesn't preach nor push any particular lifestyle on you.. instead what she does is HELP YOU understand how you can help yourself by what you eat, what kinds of foods to eat with what, creative alternatives... I ate rather healthy, but apparently it wasn't good enough because my digestion wasn't working. I went to several doctors who ALL told me colonics were unproven and they weren't sure if they even worked. And after I tried "my doctors" advice - and got nowhere quick - I had to try something else. And I truly feel blessed I found Fatima - she damn near saved my life. And btw, in no way am I slamming doctors - they have their place in our world. And so does nature. And this is what Fatima brings to the table... she helps restore the body "with nature".... "warm water in... waste out." You can't argue with that. It took a few sessions for me to see results... and again, I need to tell you... I was skeptical... very. But I listened to Fatima... Oh Fatima, Fatima- where would my colon be without you? If you want to experience the amazing process of detoxifying and cleansing via colon lavage- this is the place. No stuffy, cold, lab-coat vibe here at all. On my last adventure with Holistic Life I was listening to Jay-Z (you can choose your music, people) and laughing at Fatima's poo jokes all while laying on the table getting water flushed in my butt. She makes the process way less traumatizing than it could be. It's not the cheapest- but it's a chance to hang out with this amazing woman AND deeply clean out your digestive organs...it's worth it. It's way more healthful than buying some shoes! And really...you gotta have a large degree of trust and appreciation for the practitioner in this line of work. And Fatima Really knows her stuff. I am amazed at how well she can read my body and it's response to the water being pumped in it- as well as the tricks she knows to maximize the effect of the cleansing and get your body to work with her. A few years ago I was having major problems with my liver, kidneys, and other stuff that a body needs and was treated to a cleanse retreat in the desert hot springs by a family member. I had never done anything like this before and the results were very positive. This year I was having more trouble with my stomach and reached out to Fatima because she was local and I had heard very good things about her. All I have to say is that as wonderful as the other place was - Fatima's method of working was leaps and bounds above and beyond the techniques, comfort level, and success of the other spot I went to. And her sense of humor and personality was a bonus - because I'm not a huge fan of having to go through colon lavage therapy - even though it works - and feel a bit awkward and vulnerable on the table. Fatima quickly put me at ease and got over that in her company. She worked intuitively and with sensitivity. I didn't experience the intense 'pressure' that would happen when getting treatments at the other spot. Her method or just way about her is such that the experience was way gentler than the first series of treatments I had at the other retreat/spot in the desert. She helped get rid of the bile and other toxins that were making it hard for me to leave the house in the a.m. without having to make many emergency stops or strategically plan out my day. I had a colonic here about a year ago. I felt great! Fatima knows her stuff and has many years of experience. She can give you holistic nutritional advice as well as all the info you need for information on colonics. The system used here is the Wood's gravity closed system so it's much nicer than the pressurized system. There is no odor and the place is super clean! I can not tell you how incredible my colon hydrotherapy was, I had all these misconceptions in my head about how it was going to be and I was totally wrong. I hate to admit it, but my "virgin" experience with a tube was kind of awesome. Fatima was SO great - i want to be her friend! She talked me through everything, and even made me laugh. I don't write reviews unless I feel pretty strongly about things, so I'm mainly on yelp to write about what I love most. But unfortunately this isn't one of those things. I too started out really loving Holistic Life, and had I written this review a year ago I would have given five stars, especially when I first started going. But since then I've had so many better experiences of colonics that I just don't feel the same way. I think the business is run very poorly and know a number of people who have had similar experiences: everything from credit cards being charged without permission to rates being changed last minute and even several last minute cancellations. I think Fatima is a great person so it's hard to say that the truth of my experience with her as a business woman has been disappointing. As far as the other more positive reviews, I'd question whether these people have been going to see her on a consistent basis for an extended period of time because to me, that's when the problems started occurring. Take home point? There's are better options for a positive colonic experience in a professional and stable environment that are less expensive. read more

My highest recommendation wouldn't do this woman justice. I called Fatima at 930 in the morning on a Saturday looking to make a last minute appointment. Not only did she squeeze me in but also, I was 15 minutes late (I know, don't judge me) and she was still able to provide me with the full service.
