I don't come here much, but I've been a few times & have not gone inside much, but I needed some gas on the way to my gym & this was the first one. I was trying to pay with whatever was left on my biolife plasma card, cuz why not? last i checked, there was like $9.15 on there, so I figured I'd use the last of it since my husband & I both get paid later this week. the screen prompted me to go inside for some reason, which was annoying since it was 12:30 in the afternoon & there was a long line (mostly consisting of construction workers & high school kids on lunch breaks) so I waited about 5 minutes or so then got up to the register & was helped by a Polynesian (I think?) woman. I told her that I was trying to get gas & pay for it with my plasma card, I told her I wanted to pay $9. I swiped my card & a receipt printed out, but instead of saying "thanks, you're all set, have a nice day" she loudly said "that didn't work, insufficient funds" loudly for everyone behind me to hear, then handed me the receipt that said $0, & said, "that sucks, next!" like really? i know gas station employees aren't exactly customer service moguls, but you couldn't have lowered your voice when you told me my card was declined? or said sorry? I went back to my car & checked my biolife app, it said i had like $7.62 on there, so I was just a little off. I went back inside & of course this woman was no where to be seen, so the other employee working there charged my card for the $7.50 & told me I was set, but I was already embarrassed since everyone in that store had already seen me get my card declined like a minute earlier. to me- (who's worked an ass ton of customer service jobs) it's just tacky to treat customers like that, she could've been much more pleasant. I don't go to maverick all that often anyways, but i am definitely not coming back to this location, or any other for that matter. hart's employees know how to treat customers right!

However, now other more convenient places have cropped up in the area it's not so much a staple for me - having to cross Bangerter Highway and its crazy intersections are not the things that make gas stations nor their stores convenient, and thus negates what they are unless they are closely on your route. This one is great if you're coming from Herriman, beyond that it has always been a bit of a pain, always surrounded by construction, and due to there not being many other options in the past still a go to place. I actually feel bad for businesses in this area. However, my rating ignores this since it was a go to place for me for many years, always had great service and what it provides it does well. Businesses have little control on what goes on around them, so I'm still a fan and still someone who will visit when travelling Westwards from Riverton beyond Bangerter.

I was at another Smith's and I wanted to get this pizza that was on sale. They were out so I called this smiths the one by my house that I don't try to go to anymore . I talked to Keegan and I asked him if he had the hot honey pepper feta private selection pizza he put me on hold. He said he went to look. He said they had it and I repeated that it was the private selection, hot honey pepper feta pizza. I asked if it was on the shelf he said yes it's on the shelf so I drove all the way over there to find there is not even a place for this pizza on their shelf. My problem with this interaction is not that I didn't get pizza. It's that I spent my time going over there to get something that wasn't even on the shelf because the employee didn't bother to look and just lied to me that they had it. I talked to management. I told them the story Keegan was present. I told Keegan I get that everybody's understaffed and we're all busy, but if you don't have time to actually go do what you say you're going to do which is look for it then just ask somebody else to help the customer instead of telling them something that's not true. I would like to see this location give all of their employees some customer service remediation. This is not my first poor customer service at this location. I think everybody could benefit from it.
