This was in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic with as yet no available vaccines. Yet this was the only gas station that I remember in which all of the employees were "masked up." I'm speaking only for "Holiday Stationstore #470" at 1212 Mullowney Lane in Billings MT. I cannot speak for the rest of the stores in this chain. I was impressed that this gas station/convenience store seemed to go against the red state red tide anti-masking culture. And of course I always wore a mask when out in public in October 2020. Also, the price for regular gas was only $2.189 per gallon on October 2, 2020. No such luck with that low of a gas price in Washington! Yes, I know. I am sometimes slow at getting around to doing my Yelp reviews.

This morning as I was getting a coffee, Christopher popped over to do a little cleaning at the machine next to me and I say, "Making messes this morning?" Sarcastically of course and with a smile mind you. Christopher apparently did like the comment at all stopped wiping up the mess looks at me and says, "Excuse me!!" and had more to say, as if I was listening at that point after he handed me back such rudeness!! The clerk, who will remain nameless, grudgingly paid out my winning ticket, and said something like, "Reprint this?" after I placed the play slip on the counter and said something like, "I want to just play these numbers, reprint it or whatever". As I was leaving, he says, "Whatever". Struck me as just, rude and dismissive. Actually, every time I've gone to any Circle K location, most of the employees seem grumpy, and disinterested. Maybe the recent corporate shakeup wrecked their benefits, or pay scale? Or whatever?? Not my problem, nor is it any customer's problem. I'll just go to any of the other gas stations in town from now on.

Okay, maybe it's not really that exciting, but there's something about being able to stay in your car while you watch the water spray, colored lights, soaps, cleaners, and hear the rhythm of the spray on the roof all while your car moves along on its own. It's mesmerizing and almost a zen sort of thing. As a kid, I loved going through these car washes. It was a private getaway - except when my parents were yelling at me to sit still. Everyone knows what these places are and what they do: As you enter, the people leading you inside are spraying off the top layer of dirt or dust that's dulling that clear-coat finish. And, on the other end of the ride, there's someone to dry your car while you, if you decide to do it, vacuum your car and clean out the trash. It's easy. It's convenient, but as another reviewer pointed out, it isn't cheap. Maybe just sit in your car in the rain and you might get that same effect but without the cash outlay.

On 4/7 I paid 33.66 for the nicest car wash with the tire shine. I made it through my vacuuming and drying and noticed no tire shine. I had an appointment across town I needed to get to, so thought "the management should honor this next time if I told them. " On 4/27 at 4:30 I came for another car Wash and told the "manager" what had happened. He explained they had problems with the tire shine and asked, "do you want tire shine" and I said yes if you don't charge me this time. I looked at the receipt and he had charged me the $2 for the tire shine. I told him I thought you were going to comp the tire shine- and he said " no- I should have dealt with it when I had the problem. " I asked to speak to the manager/ he said he was the manager. he wouldn't budge on the $2. I told him that he could refund my wash as I would not come back, nor would my husband, mother and anyone else if your customer service is that poor. Really?? losing customers over $2. glad there are now lots of other choices in Billings for car washes.
