McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse - Wild Mushroom Ravioli

Made a trip to Hillsboro with a couple pals for a day of fun that was capped off with a dinner at…read morethe Cornelius Pass location. One of my friends is an avid McMenamin's follower, finishing stamp books and visiting every one. Thankfully he was with us, because I had no clue from the parking lot where exactly we were supposed to go. There are paved paths into the trees, but no real indication of where the restaurant is supposed to be vs. the various other things (like outdoor event seating, the area for weddings, etc.) they have there. He led us to the sitdown restaurant. The restaurant was not supremely busy - at least on the inside. I believe a lot of people were outside because it was a nice day. My buddy got a beer and a shot and we ordered our food. I went with the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Normally, I get a burger or sliders, but it was on the seasonal menu and sounded good. I got it with a side of cajun tots. Then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. It took over an hour before we got our food. To be fair, an older couple that was seated outside right before we were seated inside got their food and about 7-8 minutes later we got ours, so they were making and delivering the food in the correct order. The large table next to our booth had 9 people and they got their appetizers early and then got the rest of their food after we did (they ordered after us, too). I will say the food was very good. I've read some reviews about the lack of meat on the BBQ Brisket sandwich - which is a whopping $25 -- but mine had enough. It does come on a large piece of sandwich, so the bread will fill you up. I couldn't eat everything and left a handful of tots on the plate, so I'm not complaining. From what I heard, the burger one of my friends got was very good and the beer and shot was tasty (aged whisky, I believe he said). Overall, it is a beautiful place. Fortunately for me, I had an experienced guide, otherwise I would have been lost upon getting out of my car. Lots of side areas for smoking cigars or tequila bars and I wouldn't have known where I needed to go to eat. The food was very good, but it took FOREVER. The waiter we had was excellent as well - he checked on us a few times and he recognized the food was taking a long time, but there's nothing he can do about that. The food came out around the order it appears they were placed, which is as fair as you can get. I would definitely come back now that I know where I'm going. I don't make it a point to visit McMenamin's locations like he does, but this is a nice location, the staff is great, the food is very good, and if you like other McMenamin's locations, I bet you will like this one as well.

The outside of this place is absolutely beautiful, we went in evening and it was all lit up with lots of seating areas. Inside is where we sat, it was so unique inside, lots of wood, lots of space, decent lighting. We got sat in an upstairs area spread out from other guests which was nice to not be crowded. The food - I tasted the wings which I was not really a fan of, as they had an odd buffalo sauce that was more vinegar tasting than what I am used to. The burger was an average burger. Nothing else on the menu seemed appealing. Overall the McMenamins chain with unique locations is super interesting but the food was average. Good for large groups. I'm iffy on coming back (we visit Oregon at least annually)

From the Halloween decor outside, to the soothing music inside, and the clean and esthetic layout - everything was so intentionally planned with the kids and accompanying adults in mind. I was so impressed with all the amenities and the food was actually delicious! We came on a Tuesday morning right when they opened so it was just us for a good hour before it got busy. The staff were SO nice and helpful with explaining the admission, $10 hold, the wristband system, and of course the rules of the play place. They were also so kind and patient with us when we had questions about the food and drink. The booths were so nice to be able to set things down and watch the kids play. I absolutely loved the cozy library nook with books, toys, and a big table and chairs for the littler ones. There were plenty of tables to sit all around the main playing area. There were so many fun toys to play with aside from the main climbing gym including a kitchen, a gas station, a hill and tunnel, and my kids' favorite - the car wash! There were also tablets mounted on the walls at the perfect height with cool games. My toddler loved the bubble popping one! The photobooth and props were a nice touch and the birthday party room looked so beautiful. Not only was it super fun for the kids, I so appreciated actual GOOD food and coffee here! The prices were super reasonable too. The tiramisu latte was definitely the highlight, and the Hot Chicken Guacamole and Pork Katsu sandwiches had the softest milk bread and balanced perfectly with arugula side salad with tomatoes and potato chips (amazing for $11.50!) There were so many cool choices for kids meal and came with fruit, juice box and a good amount of protein to choose from. Of course the cases were full of pastries, a variety of drinks, and loved the Asian snacks! We will 100% be back and can't wait to bring more friends here to share the fun!

Clean & Organized | Friendly staff | Awesome play cafe…read more This is an excellent play cafe that was well thought out. Best for kids ages 0-10yrs/12yrs. The moment you step in, the space feels open and organized. You sign in and purchase $10 per hour on their tablets at the front. A wristband is printed out for you to use during your visit. Use that wristband to order things from the cafe (*No outside food other than water and formula/milk*), which makes the process seamless. We paid $20 for two hours, and we made excellent use of our play time! I highly recommend spending 2 hours because we played in every space for about 1.5hrs and the rest was spent snacking/lunch time. A 30 minute grace period is given when your time is up to clock out. Snacks/meals are on a separate tablet/kiosk for you to order. I'd say they have the best foods offered for a play cafe! I have a lot of food allergies, so unfortunately I had to eat outside, but they offer great items. A few items were GF, but they still had dairy (I can't have dairy and eggs), so it may be tricky for some folks who need to plan ahead of time for their food needs. We purchased popcorn, seaweed, chicken nuggets (came with apple juice, blueberries/strawberries, and ketchup), coffee, and a honey lavender matcha! Their drinks are SO GOOD. I want to come back and try an ube drink, a matcha tiramisu latte, and a strawberry matcha latte. Other items on their menu that is unique here: croffles and katsu sandwiches. Dessert: tiramisu, macarons, eclairs, cheesecakes.... The main play area has a tunnel for the younger kids to crawl. Good sensory area, especially with the fake grass. Babies enjoyed this area. The carpet is great quality, I noticed. There are 5 tv screens with educational apps for older kids who may be interested in that. This space has the coolest imaginary play area though. I mean, c'mon, a car wash area?! Baking/cooking/kitchen area. This place is a hit with young kids who want to play in their imagination. Older kids can enjoy the jungle gym. There is a hidden small rock wall too. Two big slides! The eating area has 4 booths, a main large kid table, and some outdoor seating. The large kid table area is cozy with a faux fireplace (space heater?) and filled with some toys and books for all ages! My toddler enjoyed the puzzles and cars. There is also a magnetic wall! There is really something for every kid here. It's anything but boring, and you can easily spend 2hours covering the entire play spaces. It's thoughtfully planned where sharp corners are padded and there is a bin for toys that were placed in mouths, so they can get specifically cleaned after use. The owners put a lot of thought into this place. I love that this place is vacuumed, organized, and is cleaned at the end of the day. Staff was friendly and helpful! We had no issues. We enjoyed our visit and will be back often. Wear socks in the play area (can be purchased as well). Busiest days are weekends. Recommended to come weekdays.

When I walked into the hotel and told them who I was, they greeted me like I was their long-lost friend, it was so fun! I got to meet Jennifer, Estefany, and Daniel face to face, which was the treat I was looking forward to. Then I got to meet my new friend Dominique! First of all, we have been to many hotels over the years for our anniversaries, but I have never been treated like this in the past. They did some special things for us at this hotel that we have never had done for us before! We were amazed at the way they went above and beyond for us! Then besides everyone being very nice and welcoming, the hotel was so clean and just smelled fresh. The view from our window was beautiful as well! To top it all off their free breakfast was amazing! That is where we met Dominique! She was like icing on the cake. She worked nonstop in the kitchen and dining area to make the breakfast perfect for everyone! She met me the first day and called me by name every day after that! She kept all the food fresh and all the tables clean, like I said, she never stopped! She was cheerful the whole time and just brightened up the breakfast area for us all! She was a great addition to an already beautiful experience! If you are going to be staying anywhere near Hillsboro Oregon for any reason, I would highly recommend you go to the Holiday Inn Express in Hillsboro because you will never find another place that is cleaner than this, or more beautiful than this, or with nicer people than this! I cannot say enough good about this hotel and hope you get to go meet my new friends! With MUCH appreciation again, Wilford (Bill) Allen

No, this one is by far the best experience I've had at a holiday inn Express in YEARS. The front staff was so kind and helpful. It's just very delightful here.
