This is a relatively new hotel, situated to the north of the centre of Trier, close to the riverside path on the bank of the Mosel River. It's situated over three floors of two wings: in the central area is the reception, bar area, and cafe area (where breakfast is served - all booking come with breakfast included). There is parking immediately in front of the hotel.
We stayed there for four nights as part of a short break to Trier. We had a bedroom at the rear of the hotel. The front of the hotel overlooks the busy dual carriageway, which runs to the north of Trier, but we found the noise insulation in the room to be excellent, so we heard no noise from outside and very little from inside. Everything was spotlessly clean.
The room was very good: a comfortable king sized bed, a small table with reclining swivel chair and footrest, sufficient hanging space for a short stay, and a bathroom with a spacious shower. I particularly liked the lighting arrangement - good spot lighting but nice background lighting too.
As economy chain hotels go, it was a decent size (larger than Motel-One, for instance). They have shampoo, soap and shower gel in dispensers, and other items (such as razors) are available from reception. The room also had a kettle, so giving us tea and coffee making facilities. The only thing we missed was a room safe, but reception will store items in the hotel safe on request.
Check-in was very smooth, and we found the reception staff very helpful in providing additional tea and coffee etc on request. We didn't use the bar in the evening, but it looked nice and also served a (very) limited range of food (pizza and pasta).
Breakfast was a Continental-style buffet: breakfast cereals; a wide selection of bread, croissant and pastries; cheese, boiled eggs and cold meats, tomatoes, cucumber and gherkins; preserves, pate (including a vegetarian version); fruit, yoghurts; and of course fruit juices and tea/coffee (from a vending machine).
Turn on not many facilities in the immediate area; about five minutes walk away, there are some restaurants on the Riverfront, but most of the facilities are in the centre of town, which is a 15-20 minute walk away, or a 5 minute drive (plenty of car parking in central Trier).
We paid under €100 a night for bed and breakfast, which we thought was very good value. We'd happily return again. read more
