This is such a wonderfully amazing place! I wasn't excited about having to travel for a weekend…read morewedding, but as soon as a pulled up where they had booked us at the Como Inn, I fell in love with the place. I simply love old places with history so this was right up my alley! The Como Inn is a full featured experience. Fully stocked with wonderful food, in an old building with multiple super comfy rooms. Check in/check out times are flexible which I also found as a nice Southern touch! Just use your manners. :-) The owners are just good, kind southern folk. If I didn't have to be in the wedding, I would have been just fine sitting out on the back great patio and shooting the sh*t with them. One thing to note, there is a long, shotgun staircase up to the room level so be aware of that should you have elderly or other similar needs. I consider myself old in my 50s and it is indeed a haul, but waits for you at the top of the stairs is an awesome experience! As far as the nearbys... plenty of food options from pub grub to Thia and Mexican and a steak house that clearly must be something because there were a line of people a block long wanting to get in there! There's also a store a few blocks up with all your basic needs including alcohol. I honestly wish we would have had more than one night and a rushed schedule as I could see myself spending an entire weekend trip there just to chill and we plan to do just that. A simple and wonderful experience!

We enjoyed sitting on the back deck drinking coffee and it's steps away from two fabulous dinner and lunch restaurants. The Windy City Grill and The Como Steakhouse are both top notch. This is one of our favorite places to stay when visiting the Blues Highway & the Historic…read moreMississippi Delta. Some of the little cabins are original & some are new built to look like the original historic cabins. We LOVE the new built cabins that look Vintage. They are so adorable & so unique. It's obvious a lot of work went into them, the attention to detail is incredibly impressive. I mean they even decorated them in the Vintage fashion to the exact details of the era. Very Impressive. It was definitely a labor of love that went into this place. It's just breathtakingly beautiful in the morning fog & the sunsets are legend from this place. The "Delta" cabin is our fave, we love the back screened in porch. It's a shack, they are all just little shacks, but it's the most adorable shacks EVER. haha. "PLEASE BUILD MORE DELTA CABINS" I can't get reservations for my fave shack!!! LOL There are no tv's or anything it's just a shack, you're basically glamping so bring everything you need, especially bedding if you want to sleep a little more posh. That's what we do. The coolest thing here is the juke joint & blues bar that has live music. You can't even get a room here when the festival is going on. If you want to attend the festival you have to book a year in advance. Highest Recommendations.

This is a recently renovated hotel (following an extensive fire a couple of years ago), but we didn't expect; 1) The rooms we selected online the day before to not be the rooms the desk clerk put us in; 2) Only ONE working elevator for the entire 4-day stay; 3) A closed swimming pool (on Memorial Day?); 4) A shower that leaked out onto the bathroom floor regardless of the position of the shower doors; 5) Full trash cans in the 2nd floor elevator lobby for much of the weekend; 6) An unresponsive (and then vacant) front desk when we called for additional toilet paper; 7) Loose wall toilet paper holders in both of our rooms and 8) One of the two automatic lobby doors to crap out on Saturday night. Seriously, quality control on the renovation was apparently lax. This was a holiday weekend and the property management was ill-prepared to provide the Hilton experience we are accustomed to. We won't return to this property, and know first-hand that things are much better (and a little less expensive) across town at the new Home 2 Suites property a block away. This review was also provided to Hilton via their after-stay survey. I've gotten no response from them-- I presume that they handed it over to the property managers, who then chose to ignore a dissatisfied customer.

Room was spacious with fridge, microwave and cooktop. We were downstairs by the elevator and at times could hear others, but wasn't bad. Appears to have been recently remodeled, but had a poor contractor due to plaster and other items being all Over things like bathroom glass and tile. Would stay again while passing thru. They serve breakfast and Shirley was by far the best part of the place! She worked the breakfast area and was so friendly and helpful! She's an asset to the hotel.

Positives: *The staff was very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. *Clean hotel with spacious rooms. *Quiet area to stay in. Negatives: *Paid parking. I was not expecting to have to pay for parking here, it was just a standard lot for the hotel. I went back and looked at booking, and the parking fee is hidden in a drop down. So, if you don't select that drop down, you will never notice it until you arrive at the hotel. Just another way for them to add on additional fees at an already pricey hotel. *The bathroom tub did not have a plug to hold the water. May have just been our room, though. *Breakfast was not setup timely. We had an early flight, but thought we would grab a quick breakfast before heading out. The delay of setting up breakfast is not thinking about early travelers. Not a bad option for a hotel, but I would also look at alternatives.
