It should be noted this location is under new management over the last year or so. Prior to the change, I would've rated this location subpar for a "Courtyard". It has improved with new management. With that said, staff has been super friendly. The location is hard to beat (walking distance to the square). My room experience has been mixed; but overall decent. For the price, I would expect better. Unfortunately, as with a lot of hotels in Oxford, the prices fluxuate by literally hundreds of dollars per night depending on what is happening (i.e. game days, etc.). read more

As previous others have mentioned, the staff has been less than courteous. I've stayed here multiple times and this will be my last. Also as others have mentioned, the A/C units are awful. The room won't go below 72 even at night. This small room should be easily cooled to 67-68 degrees. When I asked the front desk if there was anyway room get it cooler she simply replied "nope". It's a shame, with investment and leadership this close to campus property could be great, hopefully they get their act together one day. Definitely Stay elsewhere if you like to be cool while you sleep. The "snack shop" owned by the hotel was barren And The Starbucks/cafe in the lobby closes at 10am as well so don't sleep in. read more

I gave this place a chance despite the poor reviews and the gamble paid off. The Courtyard definitely needs some TLC, but the staff was friendly and my room was clean. The restaurant was also open when I honestly figured it would not be due to the holiday. This hotel is in a good location to walk to campus (5 min) and 10 minutes to the square. FYI - There are signs posted around the property that it is recently under new management and will undergo a revamp over Summer 2025. Things should look up. read more

Was not very impressed with this hotel. At check in, the young man behind the counter seemed less than enthusiastic to be working. The room had a strange smell and the door to the room was hard to open and close. The door to the bathroom was out of adjustment and would not fully close or lock. It looked like they tried to remodel the bathroom but both shelves in the shower were falling off the wall as well as the toilet paper holder. The layout to the shower is strange as there is no door or curtain. The shower was also filthy. Almost so bad that I took a quick shower so I could get out quickly. What could improve...EVERYTHING! As I entered 409, it smelled musky and while we were impressed that we were upgraded to a loft; once we viewed the loft that impression fell. The curtains looked as if somebody's cat got mad and went wild. See attached pics. The shower floor & drain are disgusting. Felt all around icky. PLUS, no maid service. No fresh towels. We arrived on Friday afternoon, left Saturday morning & returned to the room Saturday night to find no maid visit & no fresh towels. Disappointed. read more

Great new hotel! Overall the experience was excellent. I found myself not wanting to be at work, but wanting to be back at the hotel relaxing and enjoying the hotel amenities. They had some minor issues, but they're easy enough to look past if you're having a quality stay in an enjoyable place. The location is a little tough to find as the hotel is up on a hill and the front entrance is odd. Main entry is in the back parking lot. The staff were very friendly at checkin and throughout the hotel. My king room was clean and comfortable. The bedding was nice, but would easily slip from the mattress exposing the bare mattress. They have power outlets and USBs next to the bed for your charging of various devices overnight. The bathroom was spacious with lots of counter space. The only negative was the lack of a closing shower door. I don't understand this trend and probably never will. A half shower door is pointless, as the bathroom floor floods with shower spray. Their Paul Mitchell products were standard for a Courtyard and made in the USA. I liked the towels, but felt they could have more hand towels and wash cloths in the room. I found it odd that they had two types of toilet paper in the room. My room lacked a mini fridge or microwave. The internet connection was lackluster, and the connection completely died on day 2. The hotel has a really cool rooftop bar and rooftop party area. The lobby level bar had it's own good vibe and very friendly staff. I missed breakfast everyday, but saw some sizable breakfast offerings on other guests plates. The lobby has a bank of four iMac computers and a printer. I regret that I didn't check out the pool or gym for this review. Please, accept my apology. I was pleased with the laundry service they offered at affordable rates. The only shame is that this hotel is too nice, there's no way my company will be able to put me back up here for football season. read more

Wow. The Courtyard in Oxford is not only the nicest Courtyard hotel I've ever stayed at but one of the better hotels in Mississippi. Location: GREAT. Right on Ole Miss campus in Oxford. People: From front desk to Lobby Bistro to upstairs restaurant, A+. Very friendly & attentive in all areas! Rooms: Fantasic. Clean, spacious, contemporary. The 2-level suite rooms are amazing. Amenities: The hotel workout facility is top notch. The restaurant looks great (did not eat there), but the rooftop bar area was fantastic. My family did NOT have a good experience at all. We had a suite with a small living area and a bedroom on the upper level. On day 1 we found a cockroach on the carpet along with a chicken nugget, a bobby pin, a dime and various other crumbs. The room had not been vacuumed lately. We spoke to the front deck and housekeeping and asked that they vacuum and clean the room. The room was not cleaned for our entire stay (4 days). The beds were never made, bathroom never cleaned. My daughter tried to open the blinds and the rod fell off the wall and nearly missed her head. See pix!C read more

To be clear: we are Hilton properties fans from years of staying at hotels in their group. However, on this trip to Oxford we opted for the proximity of Courtyard to the baseball stadium. We were very pleased with all aspects of this hotel. Besides its location and our ability to walk to the game, we also found our room clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the prices reasonable. Like most/all Courtyards, they have a nice bistro for drinks and Starbucks, though we had no reason to get either on this stay. Bottom line: as long as prices are comparable, we are likely to stay at Courtyard in the future rather than at either of the Hampton Inns, primarily because of location. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This is the worst run Marriott property I've seen in 30 years of being a member. Been in line for 45 minutes to check in and it looks like I've got at least another 45 minutes. Possibly more. They KNEW the place is sold out tonight and STILL can't figure out how to check people in. And they had ONE person checking people in. ONE. If you're here for a football game or an event where Oxford is busy, I'd stay at the Graduate or somewhere else. read more

Romel is the rudest front desk of any Marriott property I have ever stayed. If you want to be chastised when you check in, stay here.

I had a business meeting here with 7 of my team members. We rented the meeting space witch is their ballroom. The meeting space was excellent. AV equipment was great, they had coffee service. We stayed 2 nights with a great rate (because kids were out of University at $89.00). I think all hotels are using COVID as a crutch in limiting daily room services as this one did, the real truth is the current administration is paying people to sit at home. No shuttle service at this hotel at this time. The Square that is 4 blocks away has excellent restaurants. The hotel will cater and has an eatery that is only open part time. Mrs. Nicole and her staff did an excellent job with my meeting needs. read more

Y'all... first let me start with saying I travel OFTEN (minimum of 2 nights a week) and try to only stay at Marriott .. prefer Courtyard. This is one of the nicer ones I've stayed at Everyone on the staff was SUPER welcoming and polite. I typically eat at the Bistro and get the same thing (Margherita Flatbread and Pinot Nior.. flatbread is great ) and this was one of the better ones I've had. The main reason I'm writing this review is praise Ben.. the chef.... he was SOOOO nice and helpful and continually checked to make sure everything was good. Everyone needs a Ben.. go get a flatbread and give him a good tip :) Room is clean and fresh ... no complaints at all. Thanks for making travel easy read more

I stayed here while I was in Mississippi for a conference and the hotel was nice. Nothing to write home about to be honest. The room was fairly clean; although the toilet roll holder fell off while we were there. We appreciated having a mini fridge, iron and full ironing board, and double beds. The hotel also had a "mini-restaurant" and "mini-mart" which we found especially helpful for those times when we found ourselves in need of a quick bite or item. However, the prices weren't the best for the food options and quality. The breakfast sandwich that I bought was just so-so and the wine that they sold, meh. We never ventured up to the other restaurant upstairs, wherever that was. But the saving grace had to be the drivers who worked here! They were always so entertaining and pleasant to be around, not to mention helpful. Bobo (yes, really) pretty much stole my heart and we enjoyed riding with him whenever he was on shift. All in all, a decent place to lay your head at night. read more

This is probably the first Courtyard I have stayed in that has a rooftop restaurant and bar, how great is that. Everything about the hotel feels fresh. The bedding was some of the most comfortable I have used. The shower was roomy and with great pressure and heat. The staff were friendly and helpful. A great stay. read more

Bad experience! Checked in and specifically requested a room on the parking lot side, got to our room and it was on the street side. Called the desk to get this changed and we're told no rooms were available but we were assured a room as requested at check in. We've stayed at this hotel many times, will look elsewhere next trip. read more

Excellent visit! Fantastic location. We walked across the footbridge to get to campus and the walk to the main square was only a few blocks. The staff, especially Trey and John from the Bistro were outstanding and helpful. We used the fire pit at night -- nice gathering place after dinner to get us all outside. Used the indoor pool and adjoining sunning terrace by day. Great stay! read more

Visited for Cal/Ole Miss game. Rooms as one would expect at Courtyard and great proximity to Ole Miss. The best, the BEST was the rooftop bar and restaurant. The chef is fantastic. My husband still talks about her Shrimp and Grits. I had the best BLT ever, though more than a BLT. Went out to dinner the next night and wished we had just had some more of her food. After the game she made us some appetizers though restaurant wasn't really open, and as people arrived for drinks, they all looked at us with envy, again delicious crab cakes, chicken flat bread, and beef and chicken skewers. Your chef and the staff at the rooftop are so amazing. Thank you. We live in San Francisco, and wish we could return. And wish the chef the best of luck, she is a winner. read more

It took them forever to get this place open - but they finally did. It's equal to the Graduate and far superior to all other properties in Oxford. Great staff, Andy the 'late' guy is awesome and rooms are always very clean. The two story suite is a fun and funky experience as well. Good job all the way around. Closest hotel to campus other than the Inn on campus. They also have s shuttle that will run you back and forth to the square so you can party DUI free! read more

Never, ever stay at Marriott Courtyard Oxford. Smells moldy in the hallways and rooms. (Checked several other rooms with management but all were humid and some more smelly than others). Ended up having to stay put in the room assigned to me. AC was horrible. Room was HUMID, and the carpet damp and smelly, even with the ac running nonstop. Maintenance brought a fan to help cool down the room but it only circulated the warm air already in the room. He took the cover off the ac and said there was a lot of water buildup so he placed the fan directly in the front of the ac in the hopes of providing some comfort-- didn't work. There was so much humidity in the room that mold and mildew was growing in the bathroom. I had planned to stay six nights at this hotel, but had to check out ASAP the next morning. Did I mention how humid the room was? As a Platinum Elite member, Marriott Rewards did give me additional points worth another night stay, but this experience was a big turnoff. By far the best hotel in Oxford! This is my second trip here and again it did not disappoint. Each time I stayed in a bi-level suite with outdoor patio. It is as unique as it is clean and comfortable!! I have ZERO complaints (and that rare for me;). The Green Roof Lounge has an excellent menu, and the chef, Cameron, created two specials that were to die for (Fried Grouper Sliders with sweet pickle slaw and a pan seared Mahi-Mahi over a succotash of locally sourced vegetables)!! I left a separate review for the restaurant but wanted to mention here as well because it's that good. I cannot say enough about this hotel...every employee I came across was extremely pleasant and helpful. Best weekend away without kids in a long while, and it's only an hour from home. I've stayed in many hotels (from the Ritz to Holiday Inns), and I must say the Oxford Courtyard could actually compete with the Ritz. No joke!! Even the hotel Bistro breakfast was good. If you want to stay in an updated, clean, and nicely decorated hotel with gracious employees then look it further. I wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Oxford. They even offer a shuttle to drive you the 0.6 miles to the square when walking is simply not in the plans. I cannot wait until next time!! read more

Oh my where do I even begin? We LOVED the Courtyard. We arrived the second day of our visit after a not-so-good stay at the Quality Inn, and the hostess was happy to get us a good quality room that was actually quality. (@Quality Inn, your rooms aren't quality. They are FAKE.) The location was a little odd, but that wasn't a problem at all, just as long as the place was good. The room was nice and spacious, with good quality beds, and a good bathroom. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar. Breakfast was good at the Bistro, and we were glad that you could get Starbucks coffee as well. Overall, we would DEFINITELY stay here again when passing through the area. read more

This hotel is relatively new and the experience we have had was less than impressive. The staff is amazing but beyond that I would recommend just about anywhere else in town. My room never got below 70 degrees which is odd being that temps would get down to 50 at night. I let them know and engineering looked at it but there was no fix. Beyond that there were drywall patches, the shower drained backward and would run out onto the floor. Rooms are loud. read more
