Last night I attended a wedding at this establishment, and I was so impressed that I wanted to make…read moresure to get on yelp and praise the heck out of it so everyone would know that this is a place worth HAVING YOUR WEDDING AT... from the perspective of a guest who travelled down from Connecticut to attend a wedding there. As I approached it from the long dirt driveway which runs around a small lake, it looked a bit boxy, maybe plain, industrial, I didn't quite know what to make of it from a distance. Ya know that expression, don't jump to conclusions? Well HOLD THAT THOUGHT! Because as you get close up, the many details unfold before your eyes, and this place becomes magickal, both outside, and most especially inside. As you approach the main front doors, you look up and see above you the wood planks going across the metal beams, diagonally, changing direction between each beam, and you notice each piece of wood a slightly different color and width than the one beside it.. and this is just the beginning. Inside the large rustic wood doors, you're in this fantastic room and your eyes are just going everywhere, taking it all in, because you've never seen anything like this... I certainly haven't!... a large stone fireplace to your left, interesting repurposed industrial style windows at the top of the walls, the floors are beautiful... a bar st the far end to the right... and pretty glass dividers along each side separating this room from two large other rooms. Across the back wall are windows to the cathedral ceiling, offering natural lighting and a stunning view of the lake, porch, and woods behind it. The room at the left is... WOW!!!... barn doors going up together forming the left wall (seriously you gotta see this!), the back side of the fireplace from that center room is also open and is a fireplace in this room... it was the perfect place for the wedding to take place. Back wall is all windows. The room to the right of that large central room is enormous and where the reception took place. Again, gorgeous. The chandeliers are elegant, the stage was perfect for the fabulous band, the lighting was perfect, dance floor ample, and windows across the back wall offered natural lighting plus a beautiful view of the lake. The food was delicious, everything I tried I can attest to. It was well placed for everyone to easily access, displayed very pretty, too. The staff kept all the dishes full and hot or cold as needed. Let me give a huge shout out to the staff!!! Bartenders were exceptionally friendly, smiley (everyone appreciates friendly bartenders!) and very quick and efficient. The staff pulled this entire event off so seamlessly, I simply cannot rave enough about them. Just some details about me, I am a hairdresser, and up in Connecticut, I often work closely behind the scenes during weddings and receptions to make sure that the bride and her bridesmaids look perfect for their big days. In doing so, I attend my fair share of weddings, and often work closely with other staff at these events, helping out in any way I'm needed for the day. In my "spare time" I also work part time for a very busy, top notch, highly rated catering company back in Connecticut. I have an exceptionally keen eye for art, esthetics, and I know what goes into wedding planning and the materialization of The Perfect Event. I do not personally know anyone who owns or is associated with The Jefferson Oxford establishment. I have taken the time to write this review because I was so very moved by the level of professionalism and the beauty of this place. I want to shout about it from rooftops! If you or anyone you know is looking for a place to hold their fairy tale wedding, I can say most sincerely, this is the place to go!
