While coordinating a shoot time, Teresa let us know that morning sessions are best, as that's when babies are typically calmer/sleepier (who knew!). The day of the shoot, we arrived to find gear and lights ready to go. She even warmed up the room and had soothing background sounds on to calm our little one. Teresa walked us through her prop and background inventory and we were able to pick the pieces that we liked. Then the shoot was off and running. Teresa is really a baby whisperer, so methodical and patient. She was able to get our little one into sweet poses that I wasn't sure were going to be possible (we have a pretty wiggly baby). Thrilled with our photos. Beautiful work.

His patience was amazing. The shoot took almost three hours between indoor and outdoor shooting. He was adamant about getting the lighting just right, which meant trying different ways of reflecting light and different angles to ensure the best contrast and textures. One of my biggest concerns was about authenticity. I requested that he keep the photos as real as possible by keeping the editing to a minimum. And he did. I was happy to see my smile lines and freckles in tact, allowing my personality and spirit to shine through.

In planning she was open to some editing preferences of mine, a very long shot request list, and she gave us recommendations for videographers she worked with in the past and that's how we found Nelvir Pictures. For sure we wouldn't have got these amazing pictures if not for her. She spoke to other photographers and the people walking about at City Hall and advocated for us to get the space and clearance we needed when she had an idea for a shot. She was straightforward with us about navigating to our second location, Golden Gate Park/Conservatory of Flowers on a Tuesday during rush hour. She's literally the strongest photographer I know, and she even did our wedding on her birthday!! We got sneak peeks after the first week and the entire gallery back in about six weeks, though it depends on her workload. Her editing is flawless. Despite the hectic environment, Diep and her second shooter came prepared, was professional and adapted seamlessly to the ever changing environment. They worked hard to get every shot on our list, and the photos turned out beautiful and candid. (There were so many nice shots, that it was hard to choose our favorites!) They did such an amazing job with capturing everything on the day. We didn't have time to soak in everything around us, but with the photos, we were able to relive the day! Diep has a great work ethic and we wouldn't hesitate to refer her to our friends and family. We're so grateful for her talent, dedication, and kindness throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a photographer who truly cares about her clients and will do everything she can to capture your vision, Diep is the one!

My wife and I got married this past December, and we couldn't be happier with our wedding…read morephotographer, Jennifer Michelson / A Girl and a Camera. I actually found Jennifer after searching online for photographers in San Francisco and her work immediately stood out. Her style felt fresh and unconventional -- more documentary and journalistic than traditional -- and I especially loved her use of black and white photography, which was a big reason we chose her. The day started at our hotel, where she jumped between our separate rooms to capture my wife and me getting ready. Before she had even gotten to our rooms, she had already scouted the perfect location for our first look. The moment was absolutely incredible, and she handled everything; we didn't have to do a thing but follow her lead. That professional confidence continued at City Hall. She has a masterful familiarity with the building. She took full control of the shoot, guiding us as she told us exactly where to stand, how to pose, and where to move next so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. As a photographer myself, I really appreciated her confidence and professionalism. All we had to do was follow instructions and be present. She knows San Francisco City Hall inside and out -- the lighting, the angles, the timing, and the key locations that truly matter -- every shot felt deliberate and it showed. The technical skill here is top-notch-- the compositions were beautiful, the balance of each frame was spot-on, and her gorgeous color grading. We received around 300 images, and the quality is so consistent that I plan to print every last one of them in large format to ensure we have a permanent physical archive. When we received the final package, we were so touched -- she sent our photos on a beautiful USB drive along with printed images, some sweets, and other thoughtful details. It was the perfect finishing touch to a genuinely wonderful experience. If you're getting married at City Hall -- or anywhere in San Francisco -- Jennifer Michelson / A Girl and a Camera is exceptional. Thank you Jennifer! Laura and Junior.
