They recommended my son go to a 11 week tutoring session before going into their reading and writing program during the summer. They said he would have a hard time if he just went to their summer program . Half way into the tutoring session they said my son was done with his sessions and didn't need any more tutoring. That left me with only 5 sessions and no refund for the other 5. When picking him up and dropping him off during the tutoring session I noticed that their facility was uncomfortably hot and there was a lot of construction going on. With this place being a Multi-sensory center I can't imagine being able to help a child with ADHD with people coming in and out, loud construction noises, and unbearable heat. Their summer program is also a joke, there is only one teacher for numerous kids of different ages. I signed my son up for only for reading and writing, but they taught him math instead. Once the summer program was completed they tried to sell me more sessions saying he needed more help! This place is just a business to make money rather than helping children with learning disorders.

She loved her teachers and loved getting ready for school every day. What more could you ask for? I feel indebted to Mrs. Kosasa and the other teachers for what they invested into my daughter. She learned in leaps and bounds under their care. They really care so much for their students, meet them where they are at, encourage them, and give them the tools to succeed. I highly recommend Kosasa Academy!

Le Jardin is an International Baccalaureate World School that offers not only the IB Diploma Program but also the IB Primary Years Programme and the IB Middle Years Programme for its primary and middle schools. The views are incredible. The staff are great. Helpful and interested in the children's best interest ( as it should be ) and are always available to engage with the parents on their children's education. Although expensive, it's well below Punahou, 'Iolani, and Mid Pac. They do offer financial aid options, yet make sure you apply early because it can take some time to get through the process. Le Jardin does offer athletics as well as a quality education. As a matter of fact, the girl's just won the ILH water polo championship, and the boy's won last year. Le Jardin competes in Water Polo, paddling, swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis, kayaking and golf. They also compete in the PAC-5 in football, softball, wrestling, baseball and cross country. The gym is fantastic, a tad bit cramped, but very nice indeed. I'm proud to say that my girls will be attending Le Jardin the fall of 2013

In my dreams, I always fancied the bass guitar to be my instrument of choice. Four strings can't be too bad, after all. Through the years I had gathered a short list of guitar instructors, but it wasn't until one day 2016 that I happened to catch Sean Cleland perform at Kahala Mall. There was just something about this guy that seemed to resonate with me. He had a clean, fresh sound with a bit of a nostalgic vibe. I recorded a 15-second snippet, posted it on my Instagram feed and that was that, or so I thought. Months later, I had a conversation with my dentist, who had previously referred me to his guitar instructor, and thought it was time I get serious about pursuing this dream. What's the first thing you do when researching a business? Correct answer and brownie points if you answered "Yelp it," of course! And it was here that I saw Sean's reviews. I'm like, hmm that's the same guy I saw performing at Kahala Mall. Must be a sign, right? I've never shared this with Sean, but he reminds me of a upcycled version of John Lennon, a young man with an old soul and the heart of a true rocker with some serious skills and artistry. Sean's teaching style is riddled with patience and humor. His keen observation skills and background in philosophy give him the advantage of tailoring and customizing his teaching methods to best suit his students. He always has encouraging words to share and is always humble which, in my book, are very important qualities in a teacher. Learning something new is a process and even if I am still learning about everything from music theory to a crash course in Christmas songs for last minute "gigs" at senior living residences, I know I'm in the best care with Sean. I've never had the opportunity to see Sean perform a live set, but with his new release debut just around the bend, I'm looking forward to catching up!

He is very a fluid guitarist and has great feel, but he is also technically knowledgeable and can easily explain the theory behind the music. He will be able to share those skills he has amassed with you and help you to grow, whatever your skill level is. His studio space is very comfortable and bright, which always put me in a cheery mood. If you have a question and he doesn't know the answer (rare), he can readily pull it up on the computer, which is perfect if you want to analyze a specific guitar riff on some obscure song in the middle of the lesson. Thanks Sean!

As part of this retreat, a group of us were tasked to do a group presentation to address three questions. To help us prepare for this presentation, the firm hired Alt to facilitate the group discussion that would provide the basis of the presentation. What I loved about Alt and his style was that he knows how important it is to understand the group dynamic, so, prior to the retreat, he met with each participant to get to know us and find out what we individually hoped to get out of this retreat as well as our concerns. This was also to help him better facilitate the group discussion. At the retreat itself, he did a fantastic job of facilitating the meeting by starting us off with the goal of the meeting and laying out ground rules to ensure we would stay focused on the topic at hand and be able to hear every participant's opinions, thoughts and questions in an organized and respectful manner. He made sure to block off time at the end to allow us time to discuss how we wanted to do the presentation and practice it. During this rehearsal, he gave us feedback and his thoughts on it. While he didn't have the chance to see it, the presentation went well. The second time the firm hired him was to do a training at our annual firm meeting. He did a fantastic job there, too. He reached out to people prior to the meeting to get a sense of the firm and be able to tailor his presentation to the group. He was mindful of the time as he had to cut some parts short. I loved the stories and anecdotes he shared to really bring in the points home about finding the work/personal life balance. Highly recommend Alt for meeting facilitation and trainings.
