One of the best, small family owned businesses in the bistate Iowa-Illinois and Quad Cities area. Hola America (Hola Iowa) provides a cutting edge newspaper, website, and Facebook page that covers professional and educational information, local news, Hispanic highlights, various sports, and local events as a top free resource in businesses throughout the community. The owners, Tar and Erica Macias, are some of the area's top Hispanic leaders, as a good people, parents, and role models through their volunteer service or participation in LULAC, the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber, Vibrant Neighborhood leadership and Hola America broadcast (through WIU), Viva Quad Cities, Mercado on Fifth, Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico, and the Floreciente neighborhood district. They have helped the Quad Cities become a world class area especially for Latinos, immigrants and diverse populations. They have a large following and are strongly supported by the community.
