I had to sign up for a $1 subscription, 30 day trial just to view an obituar. I cancelled via email an hour after subscribing. No respons. I then emailed again, nothing. I then called, sat on hold for over 20 minutes. Used the call back option, nothing. Emailed management, nothing. Emailed customer service again, nothing. I am now on hold going on another 20 minutes. Complete nightmare! High volume of calls you say? I suspect it's everyone trying to cancel their subscription. Total shame. Heather k read more

Sometimes we don't get our paper! I have to call all the time! It is maddening to have to call all the time! Horrible delivery record! read more

Tried to subscribe for a 30 day subscription. Although I pd with a credit card approximately 10 days ago, still no paper. Today they say that they have no record of my payment and they are now going to push this issue along and to a higher authority. No change. No help. Bad attitude. read more

Ok, now I am really upset! Haven't got a paper in 6 days, even after calling them everyday with false promises. They say it will be delivered the next day. Did not happen. Now they say we have no one on our route, but will assign one. Never happened. They still take it out of our bank account, with no credit! I want to cancel, but my husband is dragging his feet. Well, tomorrow, if no satisfactory answer, I am going to. I would suggest no one subscribe to them. read more

RUN, RUN away from a subscription to this newspaper. I ordered a 26 week subscription for my parents for xmas on 12/9. James (I'm pretty sure a made up name), told me that the paper would be delivered the next day to my parents home to their front door. He said that there was a past due charge which I also paid. I also asked for an email and a receipt. James said that they don't send emails but he put a "note" in to have them send me one. Probably another lie. NO paper was delivered on 12/10. No email was received for a receipt. I called again and talked to "Gerry".....get the picture? Gerry apologized and said that there was no local carrier, but the paper would come in the mail starting the next day and that I would get an email with the receipt. Today....no papers were delivered and no email. I called again and talked to Ivan. I asked Ivan to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor (Frank) was busy but would call me back when he was done with the phone call. 1.5 hours later, I called back and talked to another gentleman named "Frank". He insisted that he would cancel the paper subscription and send a check in the mail, He said that he could not credit my credit card which they are able to take over the phone 3 days earlier for the subscription. He refused to let me talk to a supervisor. So, no newspaper, no receipt, no ability to talk to a supervisor, But lots of frustration and lies!!!!!!!!!~!!!! Don't order this subscription! Ivan told me that I was talking to him in Tuscon, Arizona. The "customer service" (how's that for a misnomer?) was outsourced to Tuscon, Arizona. The Moline Dispatch does't care. Read the rest of the reviews on here. They are very consistent. They are all negative and filled with problems. If you do order a subscription, Good luck. You will also need a "presciption" for valium to deal with the frustration and the lies. read more

I am currently a subscriber, something I do not recommend. I have to call regularly to get my missed paper delivered. You used to be able to speak to a person however now you speak to a computer. I have spoken with the circulation manager that did no good. Today I tried to speak to her boss unsuccessfully. Their way of dealing with a unsatisfied customer is to place them on hold for 25 minutes and never return to let them know what the wait is. Currently trying to cancel my subscription but cannot even speak with someone to do that. Save yourselves the trouble and the headaches. read more

Tried to sign up for digital access yesterday and received an error message that it did not process so tried again and received the same error message again. Now my Discover card account is showing two pending charges for my two attempts to sign up. As per Discover while charges pending cancellations need to be worked through the vendor so I called the paper. Spoke first to Maggie and then to Oscar. No last name as I was told they were not allowed to provide it. Both were inconsiderate and rude while asking for name, delivery address, phone #, and then telling me a different name was at my address. Brand new house purchased three years ago. Wouldn't have been a problem to work through obvious capability shortfalls but the rudeness. Oscar indicated he cancelled the charges, we will see. Understand newspapers are having difficulties but it's a wonder based on its customer service or lack thereof that this one is still in business at all. Live in Illinois so preferred the Illinois paper but think once its verified that the charges were cancelled I'll try the Times but not very hopeful that it will be any different. Customer service overall seems to be a thing of the past as business has been way too good for too long. Businesses better beware as the bubble is aging......the market is shrinking. Wake Up! Just my two cents. read more
