I am a vintage electronics collector, and hoke E geez is a good place to find some. They had a vintage toaster or some vintage clocks and lots of other things. If you need some smoke alarms, most of the time they will have some. And have a bunch different hardware, even the whole carpet shelf. And I vintage Polaroid for 40 bucks. and the person the cash was really nice too. I really like how they are using an old building for the original purpose. On our way out west we stopped in Bedford to break up our ride. I love thrift stores and flea markets so incorporated a stop here while in town. It did not disappoint. Advertised as an indoor flea market it was so much more! It was like a craft fair, hardware store, appliance and carpet store, grocery store, pallet buyout, Co op antique store all rolled into one. Prices were reasonable but retail. Not flea market prices that leave room for us resellers, but there were some interesting things. My friend was able to find a vintage clarinet and I was able to get glue and a candy bar, so it was one stop shopping. The store is very large with ample parking for trucks and rvs and located right off a major highway. While I wish the prices were a little more reseller friendly, I would stop again to browse their interesting mix of inventory. read more

Wonderful for what it is...the thing about thrift stores/consignment stores/goodwills etc is that you can't go into these kinds of stores looking for one particular thing. It's more like bird watching where you go to find what you can find and enjoy what you do in fact see. This is very large building, from the shopping carts they have I would come to believe the store was originally an Ames. There's really no particular order to how things are laid out. Each section in general represents someone's attic of unused things. The quote, "one man's trash is another's treasure," holds very true to this store, some things hold value while others may mean nothing. Some things there can remind anyone of what was popular when they were children and others from beyond that. Decor, books, games, clothing, toys, arbors, sporting good things and more. If you're a collector of any of the Pittsburgh's sport team stuff you're highly likely to find something, even some teams from beyond(such as the Philadelphia and Detroit). If you're in the area it might be the treasure hunt of your day! read more

This consignment store is nice sized and has a little bit of everything from new to old items including antiques. They have everything from household items, furniture, clothing, tools, decor, appliances, gifts, records, pet items and much more!! Unfortunately it seems like the prices have increased over the last year or so. I realize it's a consignment store so the prices are set by the individual vendors, but someone needs to realize they will loose business if this continues. There are local area shops where you can buy similar items for a lot less. Hopefully they go back to the old ways so I can continue coming here. read more

HOW have I not reviewed Hoke-e-Geez yet? One of my favorite rainy day activities, besides sitting at home and watching documentaries while stuffing myself with wine and chips and salsa, is wandering around this fabulous flea market for a couple hours. My first visit, I spent hours walking around while my groceries wilted in the car. Kitschy home decor, mismatched dishes, random hardware parts, shelves of light bulbs and cleaning products, area rugs, vintage appliances, furniture from throughout the decades and LOTS of vintage items and collectibles--this place has it all. It's a great place to shop for used furniture and antique dishes in particular. I've brought home a large corningware dish to replace one broken in my cross-country move, a lovely silver serving tray, Mad Men-style glasses for a friend and a set of crystal cups from my late grandmother's favorite pattern. This place is insane. I love it. What draws me in is the antiques... I like glass bottles, coke bottles, etc... but they have a little bit (OK, a lot) of everything. Crafts, leather jackets, hardware, furniture, second-hand stuff, toys, musical instruments, collectables, nunchucks... it really is just crazy. When I'm in the area, it's a must-visit. read more

Absolutely OVER priced...unhelpful staff....mostly junk...poor quality...a handful of possible bargains in a VERY HOT huge building.... Concept of renting space for selling your craft or products is excellent.... But update it occasionally.. Thin out the over priced yard sale junk and you might have something....... Disappointed!!!!! read more
