Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! So, I have to say I am in shock!! I read these previous "fabricated" Reviews. I am at a loss of words, for these few individuals who said such things. I myself have been to Hoffmans Dairy. Well, I have been on more than one occasion in the same season. I have been visiting this Farm for the last Four Years in a row during the month of October!! I have not only taken and or suggested to Friends, Family, Co-Workers, Neighbors, etc etc etc about Hoffmans as well. Its amazing how one can go and spend an ENTIRE DAY at one farm. I am in awe everytime I walk around. Its as if I am seeing the animals for the first time. I have never once felt the animals were being neglected, looked malnutritioned, sad, cages dirty, etc etc etc. The animals respond well to patrons who visit. Telling me that, they are treated well by the 'humans' who are carring for them. If an animal is being abused/neglected they will sit in the cage and hide, or not respond. You can walk right up to there cages, and its like they are welcoming you!! I saw several staff members, they were easy to spot all wearing cordinating shirts/sweatshirt and hats. They were knowledgeable about the animals. Their wasn't one question I asked they couldn't answer. Its funny, someone said something about a bunny with a bad ear???? It's sometimes hard when you get "city slickers" who come out to a farm in $100 Stillettos, a skirt, and suit jacket. Then you catch them walking around plugging there nose. (while its up in the air) Have you ever lived on a farm? Do you know what it smells like? Do you know what it takes to run one? If you did/or you have....you would notice that you often get a pack of chickens, who tend to pick on one, pluck his/her feathers, chase him/her around. Kinda like children in a day care setting, you often get one who isn't as well behaved, or doesn't care to share a toy? Or maybe the same as Adults, in a corporate world, sometimes it gets nasty to get where you want to be? Well, a bunny is just like any other living thing...I am sure the 'bunny' you saw was just living in his habitat. Had there been some 'real' situation/problem I am sure the owners/staff would have removed him. I mean how "stupid" would that be on there behalf to leave an animal that looked the sort?? I loved loved loved the place!! Cant wait for October to roll around, I am ready for my fix allready!!!!! I am Thankfull Hoffmans Dairy is around. And I hope it is around forever!!!! Just returned from three hours of fun at Hoffman's with my 3 and 5 year old grandsons, and we would return in a heartbeat. Here are some of the kids attractions - petting zoo with llamas, adult and baby pig, goats, etc - four inflatables - castle, slide, obstacle course, and traditional bounce house - terrific covered hay maze. Lots of tunnels, twists and turns. - Homemade carousel - wooden horses with carts. Fun, bumpy ride. - Tractor-driven hay ride - ball pit surrounded by hay bales - dried corn "sandbox" with shovels and vehicles to play with - Bins containing dirt and potatoes, with shovels provided for digging up the potatoes - Wooden cow - sandwich boards on either side of a bucket with udders underneath for pretend milking - farm stuff - Walk on the wild side - an indoor guided walk with individual flashlights through dark passages decorated with jungle foliage, and exotic snakes, spiders and reptiles in aquariums. Scary but not unreasonably frightening for a 3-year old. - Haunted cemetary - Loch ness monster sticking out of the pond, out back - Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Homer and Marge life-size characters to take photos with. For $12, kids get a wrist band and unlmiited access to all of the attractions (except the pony rides - $5/each). We had a buy-one, get-one free coupon, so it was really a great deal. They offer reasonably priced food - hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, etc. Particularly noteworthy, the curly fries are fresh cut while you watch, from huge Idaho potatoes. If I understand correctly, the kid's attractions are leased and run independently of the Hoffman farm. Definitely kitschy, but great fun. It was practically empty the day we went (we arrived at 11 am the Saturday before Halloween), and the kids rode and jumped and played non-stop - often having the attraction to themselves, and never waiting in line, so they were worn out when we were done. The farm itself seems to be an exotic animal refuge, and if the animals aren't well cared for as other reviewers stated, it wasn't obvious to me. read more

Hoffmans is a perfect destination for famlies on a Budget, you can spend all day there and never be bored watching your children. They are a NON profit which means all monies are put back into the animal operation. The animals are loved by numerous volunteers and the people who operate the rescue, of course the animals are in smaller cages for display during operating hours, any one who does not think it thru enough to realize this shows their tru lack of knowledge in animal husbandry. I have an extensive farm and agricultrual background and myself am totally impressed by the numerious species of animals and how well they are cared for, animals that are abused or neglected do NOT want human interaction, and the animals at hoffmans cannot get enough. My kids love this place, and we spent four weekends in October there and my daughters second grade class is having a field trip there. As for the rabbit with the bad ear, did you hold it; are you a vet? Did you happen to ask, it may have been a rescue they had just taken in, my kids played with those rabbits and I never noticed any such thing. The hay maze is a fantastic fun thing, and it shows someones lack of understanding to even comment on hay, city people assume hay is all bright green and looks like grass, it does not, it is gray and yes it does start to look old, unless kept heavily tarped or in a barn, hello its a hay maze, of course its exposed to the elements. This farm offers high school students the oppurtunity to volunteer and get the required volunteer hours for graduation. I also know as a rescue and a non profit they are held to a higher standard of inspections, and pass with flying colors. The haunted barn is completley staffed by volunteers who donate their time, they have so many volunteers, no one would continue to volunteer at a place that is poorly ran or where animals are subjected to abuse read more

WOW! After reading some of these negative comments, I Have to wonder if they were even at the same farm that I was? Hoffman's is TOTALLY non-profit. They are one of the FEW remaining places that you can go for a FULL day of fun with your kids without breaking the bank. Lions? Tigers? Food? etc....all in ONE area and its' FREE just to look?! Been to the zoo lately? That's a 200$ day for a family of 5. We went with the kids, spent the WHOLE day, and maybe spent 50 bucks? you can't even eat at mcdonalds and see a movie for that! The animals were AMAZING! They were well kept and the petting zoo ROCKED! My grandbaby loved the pig! The pony ring was awesome! the walk through reptile thing! WOW! The ticket girl said it was like "Indiana jones" and she was RIGHT! Everyone that we came into contact with was friendly and well knowledged of their animals. And someone said it smelled?! HELLO...It IS a FARM! I Guess if you bring a "city slicker" to a farm, and they are only used to smelling smog, exhaust, and starbucks...... Anyway.... GREAT JOB HOFFMAN'S!!! This Past Saturday, I took our 3 Girls, 11,8,7 and they had a Blast. The People were amazing, and all the animals, were Beautiful! My Girls all got their faces painted, and got to hold Flower the skunk.(She smelled like Raspberries) We were there for 4 and a 1/2 hours, it was well worth the hour drive over there. My Daughter asked for Chili Cheese Fries, And they were Amazing. Those People that complain, about the animals being neglected, maybe if you didnt have your noses so far up in the air, you would see that the people out there are doing what they can for the animals, and instead of complainin, why dont you see how you can help.. I know they accept Donations, And those animals sure looked happy and healthy. So stay away if all you can do is complain, quit tryin to ruin it for everyone else.. This is one amazing place. The animals are well taken care of and seem very happy too. They like the attention of the people and you get to see them up close and personal. Of course it will smell some, the animals don't get toilets like us. Their cages were clean every time I've been there. I love going to this farm, and my friends all enjoy going out too. There are things for all ages out there... The pumpkins were very reasonably priced too. I believe that the pumpkin patch and haunted barn is a fund raiser for the animals, so of course they will be charging for things there. I will continue to go out every yr and probably multiple times to during the month. And I will continue to tell my friends and family about it too. These people are great for taking in unwanted animals too! More power too them, keep up the great work! read more

I visited here last October and it made me sick to my stomach. They have a "farm" aka huge amount of animals there being horribly neglected. They have Lions, a Tiger, and a camel, all kept outdoors in Oregon cold and rain. They also have caged housecats, bobcats, and tons of wild animals that I have no idea what they are, but I know they don't all come from the same environment, and shouldn't be living in small chicken wire cages in the rain and cold. The bobcats had litterboxes. One animal was trying to knaw it's arm off. The staff are mainly teens and toothless hick adults who smoked cigarettes as they fed the animals pieces of chicken. Also the poor baby tiger was wearing a harness, and sprays children that look at it, out of fear I'm sure. I wrote to PETA but never heard back. I am calling animal control this season. read more

Great place to take the kids!!! They have some amazing rescued animals!!! I'm not sure where those other people where, but every time I've visted the animals where all very healthy and clean... All the employees and volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable... My kids and I enjoy walking through there haunted house every October. I recommend you visit and experience it yourself, don't let the people who gave bad reviews influence your decision, obviously they have no clue as to what they are saying!!! read more

I absolutely love going to Hoffman's and I have tremendous respect for what they do. The staff works very hard to rescue and care for their animals. They are friendly, knowledgable, and they care very much for the well-being of the animals. Not only is Hoffman's a non-profit, and not only do they provide inexpensive entertainment for the whole family, but they also do great things in the community as well. My daughter loved this place! I've been going there for years and was always impressed by the amount of activities and great animals there were. The people who work there are polite and never saw any animals in distress. I recommend this place for all my friends! Not your regular old pumpkin patch!!!! Our family loved it here! The bounce houses were the perfect sizes and very clean for our 5 and 7 year olds. The workers were friendly and polite and the exotic animals were amazing! You can't get this close to the animals at the Zoo. This is our third year coming and we'll definitely be back again before Halloween!!! read more
