We give it 5 stars because there are new owners! They are making so many changes! The former owners let the place get so rundown. There are 5 cabins that currently being renovated, and a bunch of year-round trailers. A beach and a bar, as well! It will take some time, however. These new owners are really exciting to be around. We wish them well and we will see them very soon! Change is good.

Everything had been booked prior to reading the other review so we were a bit worried on arrival.. Yes. It is a trailer park with cabins. Yes. It doesn't allow dogs on the beach. There IS a photo of a cabin on their website. Also, I will post some pics of mine if Yelp lets me. I was called when my deposit was received. I was thanked and told my receipt was on it's way. this was true. The cabins/cottages are small and cute. They are not luxurious but have everything you need. It is a cottage on a pretty lake! For $80 per night, totally worth it. The owners and the locals are very friendly and helpful. We spend lots of time in the bar learning about the local area and hikes and such. Yep, there is a bar. It has a pool table and a tv for sports etc. No tap beers, just cans. (super cheap compared to Chicago). They have a pizza oven too. If anything, I would recommend this place for the people who run it. They have had it for 26 years and seemed to me like they would do anything to help out anyone there. I wish people would write more good reviews. It is such a shame that one angry lady had the only review, deterring people from visiting here.

I remember the first time we stayed there my son meandered down to the beach to splash around when he was a tiny little thing and it was so tranquil. I knew immediately that this was a place we'd return to again and again. It's just one of those places that feels like you're going back in time to a simpler place. The area around the property is vibrant and alive. Everyone seems happier just being there. Elkhart Lake is such a picturesque little town. Everyone at the resort gets up and takes a morning walk to the shops, the farmer's market, the park, the library, or to get some coffee and breakfast. Part of the charm is you really don't need a car while you're there. Everything is walkable from the resort features themselves to additional dining to a great ice cream spot. The lake is gorgeous and pristine in its beauty. Enjoy time at the beach, the complimentary kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats, or rent a boat in the nearby marina. If you're not a lake person they have a nice pool and, of course, everyone loves a hot tub! Often times there are events in Elkhart Lake on the square around Siebkens or on the property itself. Siebkens is steeped in a rich history of auto racing and is frequented by people in IndyCar and other motorsports including those at the nearby Road America raceway. You can see a lot of pictures and information about racing history at the resort. The food is phenomenal. If you're a grilled cheese connoisseur, and who isn't, then you're going to love Siebkens - but honestly, everything hits. The cheese curds are classic Wisconsin, the baked brie is next-level, and the short rib ragu is the kind of dish you end up thinking about later. Siebkens has a formal dining restaurant in PAM's and a bar with food at the Stop-Inn. PAM's is perfect for a nice, long meal with great food and wine or cocktails. The staff is incredible and really makes it a nice experience. The Stop-Inn is a fantastic bar with darts, pool, and plenty of space to let loose. I've had many a good conversation at that bar. There's always live music on the patio outside the bar and people just having the best time. Bottom line, if your family wants to get away, go to Siebkens. You won't want to leave!

Not cool when you come to a hotel and the most important function when you are away from home is sleep and you can't get any. This is piss poor execution and taking shortcuts on their furniture. I visited in December and it's not as noticeable or something that's a standout feature as it would be in the summer time. However upon arrival it looks very historic and old regal glamour. Parking is definitely old school with two small lots right in front only ... in the summertime it's probably not a big deal but wintertime it sucked. We had to park in another lot on the backside of the resort instead of in the front two lots right outside the lobby -- which made it a bit more difficult if you had heels on and had to walk a ways from the car to the hotel with the snowy icy ground. The rooms were veeeeery old school and in need of renovation. The wood didn't match -- from the dresser to the doors to the bathroom vanity. Flooring was really old and carpet was stained in many areas. Water damage on ceiling and the bed was quite stiff, not comfortable at all. Our room was very drafty which made it difficult to lounge without have a good pair of warm sweats or jacket. I wouldn't have been pleased if I was staying here for a long period, luckily my stay was just one evening. The bartender was very very nice -- she was personable and tried her best to change the channels on one of the TVs to what I wanted to watch. She was quick with the drinks and made them to my liking. The front desk staff were also very pleasant and friendly. They were quick with the check in and check out process as well. Overall I was underwhelmed with this resort. Perhaps winter is just not the time to visit as there is not much to do in the tiny town and the Christmas market that happens across the street honestly wasn't anything superb (we have several Christmas markets in the Twin Cities which are MUCH more superb to this one). Perhaps the summertime is the best time to visit to enjoy the true beauty of the surroundings which may make up for the old school regal of this resort.

If you're in an old room with a parking lot view, you'll probably think it is not worth the money. I always enjoy The Osthoff but they need to maintain their appearance. Garbage sitting in the hall for days. A sauna with an out of service sign. Little things like that are a turn off. I'm sure the resort will always be popular though.
