It's pricey, aisles are narrow, feels like a bit of a jumble, and weirdly unwelcoming. There were greetings and samples offered at the door by 2 people, but not to me for unknown reasons....at any point of my visit which was all near the front of the store and mostly in view of the same 2 people who were not that busy. Say what you will about bigger retailers but my experience is they absolutely make an effort to ask if you're finding what you need, etc., often multiple times by different employees....and the smaller shops do as well even if it's just the cashier shouting across the store. On the positive side they had more fun packaging / promo boxes (including glassware, etc.) that make good gifts, and that could be really useful, and also the location of the store is convenient in the area and has easy access from both sides of the corner. So there may be a few good reasons to shop here but I won't go back.

For a while I was coming out to the Twisted Iron Open Mic, which could have been a great experience…read moreif not for the hosts of the event who are the most arrogant, foulmouthed, and ill mannered human beings that you could ever imagine running a musical event. I swear on my life, in fact, that these two men single handedly have been ruining these event in the minds of numerous local musicians who have have had experiences similar to my own and who have stopped attending for the same reasons I myself stopped coming. My own experiences where so bad, in fact, I will never again return to this establishment so long as these same people remain employed there. The two men running the open mic, really need to either find a line of work that doesn't send them into emotional fits, or else they need to take some anger management counseling, along with some mood stabilizing medications. For the things I witnessed in my several visits to this event were 100% unacceptable -multiple persons each night being reprimanded and even cussed at by the hosts, and for the STUPIDIST of reasons. I remember one guy getting hollered at out on the patio in front of a large group of people, simply because his music partner hadn't arrived yet and he wanted to be moved into a later spot. And the way in which he was horribly treated, you would think he had done something majorly wrong. But NO, HE HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG, nothing than make a polite request, one which any open mic hosts would have respected. But instead this man was shouted at, verbally assaulted and was called every cussword and foul name in the English vocabulary. And this is just one of many stories I could tell. Having talked to numerous people in the local music scene, I could write for multiple hours about all of the horror stories I have heard about the two men running this event. These guys are savages and care absolutely nothing about the musicians they mistreat, the feelings they hurt, and the business they drive from The Twisted Iron -which by the way could be a really good scene otherwise.
