They are horrible. I called yesterday to arrange a car for an elderly woman for today, told them i would need to use a credit card, I agreed to the 5 dollar service fee and told them that i would also like to tip the driver 10 dollars on the card because it would take her a little time to get herself in the car. They said NO PROBLEM call tomorrow at 4pm for the 5pm ride. I called today at 4pm and they told me "Cash only" I said yesterday you said you would take a credit card "machine is broken" . I've used Hoboken First Class before within Hoboken since they are one of the few services that only charges $5 instead of $6 when you call for a car and arrive at your door quickly. This was the first time I used them for a trip outside Hoboken City limits, something I may never do again. Similar to Laura C, I was quoted one price, and then charged another. I usually use Downtown Limo because they have the best prices, but decided to shop around this time. Low and behold, Hoboken First Class quoted me a rate $8 less expensive than Downtown Limo to go from Bushwick in Brooklyn, to Hoboken, so I scheduled the service. I checked my credit card a few days later and I was charged $10 more than I should have. Hoboken First Class basically told me I was a wrong and that none of their dispatchers quoted me that rate. So I should have just gone with my usual choice, Downtown Limo. Lesson learned. Update: The owner emailed me back and offered to credit me $10 for my next trip with them, hence my "A-OK" rating. read more

Though here on passover/easter weekend 2019 nobodies home and their phone is going straight to voicemail that is of course full. Actually used Hoboken First Class twice within a couple of hours today. Thanks to all the snow that we've had around here lately,driving into Hoboken really wasn't a option for a appointment that I had a 10:00 this morning.Called another car service that I normally take and they weren't available. The dispatcher said 10 minutes and within that time they were at my door.Then a couple or hours later I tried again for a return trip back to Jersey City.This time I was given the response of 5 minutes till they pick me up.Yet again it was less than 5 minutes later I was on my way home. The driver was very professional & was even dressed in a suit. Didn't know that cabbies did that anymore!Even the car itself seemed like it was brand new.Thought I was in a Lincoln town car.Actually found out that it was a Mazda Avalon hybrid. Now maybe they charge a few dollars more than other cab companies, but if your in a pinch give HFC a call.They have quick & reliable service. read more

Holy terrible reviews Batman! Not sure what everyone else is whining about, but First Class is the only car service in Hoboken I'll call. I travel a lot for work, and I use them to and from Newark Airport every time, for about a year and a half now. They are always on time, courteous, the drivers are safe, and the price is reasonable. The cars are always clean and a lot of the time the drivers have water bottles to give you and magazines on the seat for a longer ride. They're also great for going around Hoboken locally - $5, not like the scam $6 cars. The other night I was up on 13th street wanting to get downtown and didn't want to walk alone at night. I called up at 9:55pm to request a car, and by 10:01pm I was in the car and on my way. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the payment system to and from the airport. Their credit card payment "system" requires that you call up from the car and give your CC number once you've arrived, then the driver writes you a receipt. They should really either A. take your CC number when you call and make the reservation (I've tried this before, they won't) or B. invest in Square or some other mobile payment option. Otherwise, I highly recommend this car service. read more

Pretty much the only car service I use in Hoboken. I use them to take me home from the airport! They even track my flight and are always there within a few minutes of me grabbing my luggage and heading outside Sometimes the phone is busy though.. Especially on weekends. The cars are always best-in-class, the dispatcher is always accurate and swift in getting a vehicle to my location (never more than 10 minutes), and the drivers are always friendly. I finally found a reliable company that stick to realistic time when they say 5 to 10 mins that's just what they mean . Hands down the absolute worst taxi/car service I have EVER experienced!! I had scheduled a car pick up 1 week in advance for 4:20am on Sunday morning, 4/07/13. I called again on Saturday afternoon, 4/06 to confirm my pick up from Weehawken to Newark airport. At 4:21am on Sunday I called Hoboken First Class to inquire on my drivers status. The gentleman who answered the phone was clearly asleep and said he would call me back. After almost 10 mins, I called back again and was told the driver had a flat tire! BS!! If he had a flat tire, why didn't someone call me earlier to inform me? He suggested I call another company to get a ride to the airport because it would be another 20 mins and I would miss my flight. I did in fact call my local taxi company who arrived in 5 mins...however we did almost miss our flight. Hoboken First Class Taxi is not reliable... Please do not use this company! read more

I usually hate writting bad reviews because we are humans and humans are flawed, but this service goes above and beyond to be rude and nasty. I really don't understand how they are still in service. I called first class to pick me up so the dispatcher said 5 minutes, so I walked out the door after getting my keys and my cane. I go outside and see a car just sitting there no label on the car or nothing that indicated he was my driver. The man never even questioned if I was waiting for a cab he just drove off. I went to a near by store because going back home was not an option, and asked them to call them back. The dispatcher went on a rant about how I left his driver waiting and he lost money. So same guy came back and picked me up. So I tell the driver what my destination is and he doesn't understand where I'm telling him then he drives me 2 blocks up just to be like right here this is your destination, I'm sorry but why tf would I need a cab for just to go 2 blocks. I tell the driver no so I continue asking him if he knows where these places are and he keeps saying no.in my mind I'm asking are you even a real cab driver. But yes luckily I made it to the right location. So now I'm done with what I had to do so I ask another person to call me another cab, the dispatcher just kept being rude and yelling like he didn't even want me as a customer, so I got picked up and driven to my next location, and once I was done I had someone else call for another cab, and once again with the rudeness. So this time when the driver picked me up I asked him if his dispatcher was having a bad if he's ok cause I truly was concerned for him. But come to find out he's always like that. Dear dispatcher, Let me apoligize for the idiot who hurt you that bad that now you have to take it out on the world. I hope your life gets better and you begin to see better days. Kindness gets you along way. Rudeness just gets you fucked up, remember that. Called for three cabs and was told 7 minutes. Came down to meet the cabs at 7 minutes only to find all three cabs had been relocated due to not being there on time. The dispatcher never took my name or information in order to follow up with me when the cabs were downstairs. Never using this cab company again. read more

I will officially never call First Class again! I used this car service for family members and airport trips in addition to a taxi ride almost daily around 7:45am. I make it a point to call at least 10 mins before I actually needed the taxi. I thought 10 mins is fair window, being that hoboken is 1 square mile. Going from 4th and grand to the Path is also a very short trip. Each time I called I was advised that my driver would be there in "5 minutes. Cannot even explain how frustrating it was to wait 5 then 10 then 15 and then 20 for the car to show up! I called to see if the taxi was coming I was assured the driver was "around the corner" " 1 min away" What BS! I Lost count of the times I was late to work after the dispatcher reassured me the driver was "on his way now" If he told the truth, at least I would have the opportunity to walk! No stars!!! After having a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with this place....HOBOKEN FIRST CLASS!! First Class NO WAY! There were four of us and my boyfriend sat in the front (carrying my overnight travel bag). We had to jump out so fast and he (my boyfriend) did not grab my bag!!! I called immediately since in my bag besides personal belongings..was my ipad, phone charger and cash I had just earned as a makeup professional for a wedding. They were of ZERO HELP tracking down the driver. In the morning more calls were made by my sister, no bag. Called again, and suddenly the bag was there...with no ipad and no cash. The WORST experience. The owner told me one price and then charged another. When I had called about it before I even began to explain he picked up the phone and said that was the price, clearly this happens often because I didn't even say hello yet. He was the rudest man, did not hear me out and kept cutting me off telling me I misunderstood and would not even let me speak. It's a circus of incompetent drivers. I swear monkeys could do better job (nothing against monkeys). If you're staying at The W, they push this car service on you. I have my own car service preference and thank god. Since this was a quick trip to a mall I decided to get a cab. A hotel employee asks if you need a car and they quickly get you one. My mistake. The next day I used my own car service (because I was going farther). I made my reservation, my driver calls me, I go down stairs and they are literally hassling the driver. I know most of the drivers they send and he tells me it's like a mafia, they don't appreciate other car service companies servicing the hotel, they expect every guest to use them. I scheduled a car service for a flight departing from & arriving at Newark (I live in Hoboken). The first driver I had was a man who did not introduce himself, didn't know my destination and proceeded to talk on the phone (hands free headphones) the ENTIRE TRIP. Not only is that rude, it's unsafe! He drove 20+mph over the speed limit almost the entire time, swerved between lanes (without signaling at times) and took exit ramps at such a high speed that I was plastered against the car door. I called and reported him immediately upon arriving at my gate and communicated my displeasure at such an unacceptable experience and that I expected a much improved experience on the return drive. Chris (manager) said he would communicate this to the owner and ensured my experience would be significantly better. Needless to say, it wasn't. My flight was scheduled to arrive at 11:30PM; we arrived early (11:15PM) and the driver was nowhere to be found. Driver called me at 11:27PM saying he's 5-10min out and arrives 15min later at the wrong terminal. He thankfully drove safely (after I told him about my first experience) but didn't know my name until the end of the trip when I paid, then proceeded to stare and say "I like your eyes". I couldn't get out of that car fast enough!! Not to mention the fact that management did not offer compensation or reimbursement of any type for these horrendous ordeals. For the second time (shame on me for giving second chances), this car service has stranded me at the Newark Airport when I pre-arranged pick up from an arriving flight. The driver said C Terminal Level 1 Door 4 and he'd be there in 3 min which is where I stood for 30 min in the cold. I even asked if he meant Passenger Pick Up area 4 which is different. He did not respond to my texts. I called the main number who listened to my situation and then they never called me back. What kind of people are these? Hoboken is not a large city. Why they aren't afraid of losing regular business to Uber is beyond me. read more

I have used Hoboken First Class for business trips four or five times in the last six months, either to LaGuardia or Newark. I have always called the day before and my pickup time is usually anywhere from 4-5am. I have never had an issue. I usually call 15 minutes before they are schedule to pick me up to make sure someone is on the way, and the dispatcher always calls when the driver arrives. You can pay with a credit card in the car, they will give you a hand written receipt (usually they just have me fill out all the information). I was skeptical because of the reviews on yelp, but I think with calling in advance (more than 5 minutes before you want to be picked up), you will be fine. read more
