Wow--this shop is in a building that dates to the heyday of Delaware Water Gap, PA-- approximately 1906 to 1912. The owner (the male half of the couple that owns it) told me that early in the 20th century, the town was a major resort destination, second only to Saratoga Springs, NY. The building is amazing, coated inside and out with white glazed tiles.
This is an unusual shop--the building has housed a number of businesses over its 100+ year history. Because the owner is a racing aficionado, the "curious goods" today included a vintage car way in the back. He told me it won't be there long, because it has been sold. But there are other things that might well interest guys who don't usually frequent antique shops: a collection of vintage flashlights, vinyl records, vintage leather luggage. There's also vintage clothing, some furniture, dishes, ashtrays, lamps, old Life magazines, glassware, an old typewriter, old Ball jars, masks, a huge jukebox. Every corner held something interesting to look at.
There was also a rack of current bathing suits outside on the sidewalk for sale, so you really never quite know what will be there. But there should be something of interest for almost anyone who happens in. read more
