This store is the worst and I believe is one of the reasons so few train shops exist today....not just poor but the worst customer service I have had in my life. It is Sunday December 29 2019. The stores web site says the store is open from 12 pm to 3 pm today. Though I called numerous times after 12 and there was no answer I have been to the store and the doors were not opened until 30 mins plus many times before. I drove 90 mins to get my nephew a train set for Christmas believing that they would be open as posted. On arrival all the store lights were on and there was a man working inside ( tall , thin, bald, blue plaid shirt ) who saw me and my aunt at the front door.....knocking......while standing in the rain at 1:15 pm while reading the store hours that confirmed the store was open from 12 to 3. I went to the back door and saw the same person who ignored my aunt and I and appeared to be hiding in the store. I totally understand if there was a reason for not being open but he could not address a paying customer at either door? This is a disgrace. Compared to other local stores this place is so sub par.....they sell primarily pieced out starter sets as opposed to high end products. Their prices are high and NO ONE in the store really knows the product. I have been collecting trains for over 40 plus years. With their stunning lack of quality,inexperience and poor service one would think they would atleast have some shred of courtesy to address a customer standing in the rain or at the very minimum post closed on the door or website. I did continue to call the store to voice my issue and the person referred to above ignored the phone. For any one in the Indiana area there are other shops such as Brady's train outlet in Greensburg, Lens trains in Irwin, Harry's trains in Irwin , Niedsalcoski's in Janette as well as Neelies trains in Altoona. If any of these stores would so much as answer their phone during posted business hours or open the door to address a customer they would have surpassed the customer service at Hobbyspeed 100 times over. I am so DISSAPOINTED with this store. I hope this review serves as a warning to anyone who thinks of doing business at this establishment. read more
