Hobby Lobby has become my first and favorite place to buy fabric, yarn and sewing notions. I can count of their selection and display to be very organized and easy to find. Their knowledgeable staff is very helpful and offered creative suggestions for a project I was working on. While there I couldn't help but peruse their entire store and found it is a one-stop shop for art and craft supplies and a place for unique and thoughtful gifts and home decor. This is a very well-run store. The store is neat and tidy, even though there is an abundance of stock at very reasonable prices. It's especially nice that their sale items chance weekly, with many categories having 30 - 50% discounts. And unlike some competitors who mark a particular category down and then offer coupons that cannot be used because, "the item is already on sale". The staff is very helpful and supportive. I came all the way down south to this location from East Bellingham because I called ahead to check on the availability of an item. The employee I spoke to told me they had several in stock and I asked for one to be held for me. She told me she'd put it on hold until the evening. Long story short, the item was not put on hold and they didn't have several, they had 2. Both were damaged/broken and neither were reparable. When I asked to talk to the manager about finding this item and having it sent to me, I was told the manager was too busy to leave their office. I walked out and won't be back. I wasted several hours of my day coming down to Burlington to buy this item and I'm not happy. read more

I'm not sure why Hobby Lobby gets such a bum wrap. This is truly the mother lode of craft stores, and they offer way more variety than their competitors. They have everything from home decor to seasonal items, plus tons of the usual DIY and floral offerings. What keeps me coming back, though, is their huge fabric section. For a quilter like me this is a fantastic place to find cottons at a bargain. And while they don't offer all of the famous quilting fabrics offered at the smaller fabric stores, there is still plenty to choose from and - let's face it - not everyone can afford to pay $13+/yard for the good stuff. Most of their fabric is well under $10/yard and is often on sale on top of that. read more

I personally think this store is the IKEA of the crafting and decor land- you can't possibly see everything, but you'll definitely WANT everything. Great holiday options, gifts, artwork and decorating tools are everywhere. Definitely pricy, but not more so than Michael's or Joann's. Especially if you google their website and snag a coupon prior to checking out. Their furniture is also super chic and a great way to mix up your style. Everything was always clean. This store is huge! You could spend all day in there and still not see everything! The store is kept very neat and tidy which is nice! The people on the sales floor were helpful when I could find them. I feel like their prices have gone way way up. Everything is decent quality but priced way up. I looked at many things and compared their prices to Amazon, Target, and Michael's. All the comparisons were priced a good amount lower than what Hobby Lobby was selling them for. While I personally believe the store should appeal more to a Jewish demographic, I love their selection of little garden fairies. While I was there I spoke with their muscular female manager. She was very knowledgeable of the store. However she was very difficult to understand because of her speech impediment. I was also aided by a delightful young male employee. I approached him while he was working very hard with the manager with the beard and the Hispanic employee. I asked them where the garden section was The young employee, who seemed to be the most knowledgeable of them, immediately showed me the location of my fairies. He was extremely helpful and good at his job. If you see him there be sure to tell him good work and high five him. So overall the employees areaight. I love all of their departments but if you stop by be sure check out the incredible floral department. It has such an amazing selection of flora and is very well stocked. Sick.
