Today I really needed a shelf for my office. I looked to several places, and I really didn't think I would find what I needed at Hobby Lobby. I was wrong! Not only did I find just the right size, it was a fantastic price too. One employee really stood out for me and that was the young man Michael who put the shelf on a flat bed cart for me and waited patiently while I stood in a super line line. He was so kind in helping me get it into the van that I would have tipped him had it been allowed. I absolutely love Hobby Lobby but, I have to rate it a 3 star because of the terribly long lines at check out. I was literally standing in line for 35 minutes to check out. This place needs more cash registers or something. Its craziness!! I cringe every time I walk in here to grab a couple yards of fabric and see people standing there looking like they have the same reaction as me when im standing there. If your buying a yard/yards of fabric, tell them to ring it up at regular price [the fabric is 30% off, I know] then take your 40% coupon [only works on regular priced items] and you'll save an additional 10% a little trick a manager told me to do in Indiana! Download the hobby lobby app. You get a 40% off regular price item every week. Not sure if you hobby lobby people know this or not but, you can use the 40% off coupon at JoAnns fabric!! This is a large store with plenty to offer. It has something for crafters and something if you just want to pick up a cute piece of decor for your home. They are constantly having sales for 40 to 50% off items. Be sure to check their website for a coupon on an item if yours is on sale. This is the reason why Amazon is winning in the retail game. I was purchasing 12 frames for certificates at work and went to check out when we realized that some were marked $3.99 and others $5.99. Even though they were all the same, they were unwilling to honor the $3.99 that we thought we were paying. Next time, I'm ordering from amazon and then low and behold I will get them all for a price that is clear and upfront. I spoke to the manager, Carrie and all she could say was that she will send a suggestion up and have a blessed day. Good luck with that being the response. This is the angriest Hobby Lobby I have ever been in. I have literally only ever seen one employee smile and I haven't seen him since. It's incredibly depressing just to go in here. Except for the fact that every staff member seems consistently pissed off that they are there, the customer service is pretty unpredictable. One visit staff knows where things are and reluctantly points to some department you should obviously know and the next there is no one anywhere (and they definitely aren't up front where customers line up 10 deep between empty registers). I don't know if this place is understaffed, underpaid or just consistently mad at the world, but I'm pretty sure I can't stand to visit again unless I absolutely can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else. read more

So I buy a Christmas tree from what I thought was a reputable company. Paid 273 bucks incl tax, and return two days later to pick it up. Unfortunately this company thought it would be prudent to switch out my new tree for a used (demo) tree, since they had sold the one I had put aside days earlier. They decided to stuff the used tree into 3 different boxes, with no assembly instructions, manual - nothing.......then tried to pass it off as if nothing happened. The manager was too gutless to come out and talk to me until I refused to leave; I guess he wanted his cashier to do his job for him. Then, he would not even get the appropriate new tree shipped to the store close to me. He said I could go get one somewhere else or he could refund me if I "wasn't happy". Borrowed a truck from a friend so I could not wait another day. Worst customer "no service" I have experienced in years. Pay less attention to birth control and start hiring and training caring managers. Will never step foot in your stores again, even though I have a brand new house to decorate. read more

A great place for anyone that is into hobbies and crafting of any kind. They have it all. As I am moving between crafts all the time I frequent this type of stores maybe too much. This time I went to purchase water based acrylic paints and paint brushes to repaint a couple of dolls. I found the paints and I found a lot more. They have an impressive offer on miniatures and doll houses. I left quickly and even then I bought a miniature dining room for my daughter's doll house that I wasn't planning to get. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The kind of people that work there are one of the reasons I'm not a Christian. I'll start by saying that my boyfriend and I went in for Styrofoam and paint. We found what we needed pretty easily and made our way to the register. There was someone in line, so I was looking at the candy. I saw something really gross looking and picked it up to look at the ingredients. I remarked to my boyfriend that the ingredients were disgusting too. The guy ahead of us had left and we put our stuff down. The cashier was an elderly woman. She immediately said "I can tell you that those are a great alternative to a snack. Your dentist will thank you," referring to the nasty candy I had held. It made no sense, but we brushed it off. She proceeded to make negative comments or noises every time she rang up an item. For example, when she rang up our brown oil paint, she looked at the color and said "ooh. That looks rough." She did something for every item. When she was done, she asked if we had a coupon. We said no. She asked if we had a phone number. My bf said "Not one I'm giving out." She turned away and said, in the rudest tone, "You could've saved 40% on something." We didn't reply. Paid and left. I am positive she acted like that because my boyfriend has facial piercings and her Christianity compels her to judge quickly and act out based on those judgements. You shouldn't treat people badly because you think your religion makes you superior. We will never go to any Hobby Lobby ever again. read more

I enjoy the variety HL has to offer; however, due to their cherry-picking methods regarding the preservation of life - I will no longer shop there. When they opted out of birth control for their employees, I didn't agree but felt that since they were a privately owned company, they had a certain degree of latitude regarding employee benefits. Since Covid-19 hit, you've shown your true color, which is green. You were forced to close during shelter in place, you don't require facemasks when it's not mandated by the county, and where masks are required you don't enforce it. You took a moral stance on not providing birth control to preserve human life, when are you going to step up to the plate and preserve life by requiring face masks? read more

2.5 I've been shopping at this location for a number of years. It's convenient to where I live, the 40% off coupon is easy to use, they have a wide range of products, and every now and then they put paints and canvases on sale which is primarily what I buy. I read in some of the other comments complaints about long lines and rude staff. The lines are ridiculously long, and they've been that way a long time, so it's a wonder to me why they haven't improved on that. Self checkout needs to be a thing here. Most of the time I'm in there it's to buy just a couple of things, and it's like that for most people who shop there. Additionally, the majority of the sales people aren't mean, but they aren't looking to help you. If you ask a question they will answer it, but they aren't looking to help you get a good deal. At some stores the cashier will help you and be like "hey here's a coupon you can use" and I love that! It shows they care about the customer, not just their money. I don't get that feeling at this store. I mean I recently bought some big frames for a funeral here and it costed close to $200, and I almost forgot to tell her I wanted to use the 40% off coupon and when I told her she told me "well I have to see it". I know that's not true because I've been here several times and they've just gone ahead and done it for me. I'm not sure what the deal was with that, but it's small things like that that's so off putting. For a store that markets themselves as a Christian run store, it feels very corporate. read more

Don't know who the guy is that wears a patch on the side of me is beyond rude and does not need to be running registers. He rather socialize with other employees the check out customers and cut in line. That is not the way business should be run nor the way customer should be treated. I have never been so mad in my life. I went to the store in Turkey Creek in West Knoxville, Tn on Monday 2/8/2016. I have never been treated with more disrespect. I was with my best friend, her son and his fiance. We were wedding shopping, as they are to be married in August. We found a lot of neat stuff and decided to buy it since it was on sale. Everything that we had was suppose to be 50% off! Well that wasn't the case when we got to the register. The rude clerk argued with us over the price, when the signs clearly stated 50% off! There were signs right in front of what we were purchasing on the shelves and she still argued, saying that wasn't on sale. THAT IS CALLED FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! Then we decided to switch some things to get the 50%, well when we did that the manager then argued with us, saying it wasn't on sale! WHAT KIND OF PLACE ARE YOU RUNNING???? The clerk and manager didn't seem like they wanted to help or wanted our business once they found out this was all for a gay wedding. DISCRIMINATION! I will never be back to a Hobby Lobby again, not when they discriminate and argue with you over their sale signs!!!! This problem needs to be fixed immediately. read more
