The rooms themselves felt very homey and are clean. Although the room didnt have a fridge, there was a microwave and ice machine in the shared hallway leading to the koi pond. Guests pre-order their breakfast at check-in and pick a time slot to eat at, breakfast itself was very tasty and was planned so efficiently! But Nader's also has the word "suites" in its name, so that appeased my snobby side enough to take a chance on this place. And I'm glad I did! If only all motels were like this one. First of all, Nader's offers suites, which come with full kitchens: a stove/oven, full refrigerator, silverware and dishes, a kitchen sink, a living room that transforms into a pull-out bed, and a little kitchen table. There are two TVs in the suites, plus two full-sized beds. It's all very tidy and nice for families, because you have so many comforts of home. The one thing that wasn't my favorite about the suite is that there isn't a bathroom sink. You have to use the kitchen sink for everything. Which I'm sure most people don't care about, so your mileage may vary. But the rest of the hotel amenities offset that minor inconvenience. Things like the Adirondack chairs that circle around a big fire pit that's lit in the evenings. The free bikes that you can just pick up and ride around Ludington. The basketball court and little area with corn hole, shuffle board and giant Connect Four. The outdoor pool (that's heated, but not warm). The free wifi and free parking. The location -- oh man, the location! You're literally a four-minute walk from the beach. All of these things make Nader's a great place to stay for families. And other families must agree, because we saw lots of them during our stay.

The pros: old school motor court…read morecharm, great location, impeccably clean rooms, reasonable nightly rate ($125/night + tax for a room with a queen bed on a weekday), and excellent covid protocols in place. The cons: cozy rooms (but how much time do you spend in your room on vacation anyway?), our shower was slow to drain and left me in a puddle by the time I was done, no fridge/microwave in room (no place to put them, I understand), beds weren't the most comfortable, and a sizeable gap between blinds and windows that would allow people to see in. We hung a sheet over the window to fix this problem. It would be a good idea if the motel added curtains. Despite these few inconveniences, I definitely wouldn't hesitate to return to Avenue Motel in the future.

Everyone was SO nice. My son burned his finger on the waffle iron and they immediately got him an ice pack and bandaids. She even gave us a few free waters. So kind. I also noticed they were cleaning the pool in the morning. It seems like a no brained but I'm sure many of these hotels don't get the pools cleaned. This one did! The pool was really nice and had a hot tube and a sauna (which was closed). There's also a game room that you have to pass to get to the pool so prepare for that if you have kids. They ran out of towels but had them filled back up in 5 min. Breakfast was standard but again the staff was super nice. It's always nice to get free breakfast. My kids loved the mini waffles.
