I am a plus size bride, wearing 18/20 street size. I stated this on the forum when booking my appointment and when the employee asked upon entrance. Although sizing had been discussed, a lot of the dresses I was handed in the change room were sizes 10-14 and I was not able to try them on. Either they wouldn't fit over my hips, or my arms wouldn't fit in armhole with the strap, or my arm just wouldn't fit into the sleeve. Trying to squeeze into a dress that's half your size in a dark changing room without assistance is not a good start. At one point I told the employee that one of the dresses I wasn't able to pull up, and she seemed surprise "oh really? Is the zipper undone all the way", I said I would double check, but yes it was undone all the way. I just don't think the size 10 dress was ready for my size 20 hips. Another dress was sleeveless but had a high illusion neckline and I was excited to try on, however my upper arms were not fitting into the arm holes as it was a size 14 and my upper arms are larger. I told the employee this from the dark room behind the curtain and her response was simply "how about we move to the next one then". Which was sad because I thought this one would look so good if only in a better size. At this point I was starting to feel that same dreaded feeling I use to get when trying to buy name brand clothes in middle school. Hadn't felt that shame in a decade. I stuck my head out and asked if they had any plus size dresses, as these tags seemed to be 10-12 or 14 and I am usually about a 20. She pointed to the rack we got the 14 from and said that was the plus size rack. When I was able to get my body into a dress it was still a size 16, the neckline area never fit and it was nearly impossible to "use my imagination on". Since the detailing didn't line up and it was making indents. There was one dress I did like. However it was a zipper back and I was told the "zipper is slippery" so it couldn't be done up. I don't know much about how bridal shops use dress clips but she didn't use any and barely did anything. She held the open back together for about 30 seconds as I looked in the mirror then walked away. The dress had sparkly spaghetti straps that were very long so they dropped and curved a bit. My mom was trying to get a photo so I could look at it later but as the employee wasn't doing much to make the dresses look as they would if they fit I was trying to pull the straps at the back so it would appear tighter and then holding my arms down so the bodice wouldn't fly open. Ugh I honestly felt like crying when I was in the dark changing room, I felt lost. I was barely getting any assistance. She wasn't helping the dresses look as they would once fitted, I felt helpless. Not being able to fit into dresses and not having any dresses my size even when My size had obviously been discussed made my confidence drop and made me feel ugly and gross. Which is definitely not what a wedding gown shop should do.

It has many incredibly gorgeous pieces of clothing you can wear to an evening out or a special gala. I didn't even realize it was a bridal store till i peered behind the curtained area. The service greeted all of us and made sure if we had a question, they were more than happy to come help. The front area is filled with clothes from my favourite brand For Love and Lemons and also another brand called Keepsake. I would say both go for the luxury, refined, and yet stunning designs that would draw the eyes. If bridesmaid were able to wear these, I think there would be zero arguments on rewearing the dress. There is also lots of accessories and home items that can turn a dull home to something with a bit more indulgence. I didn't come here for a wedding but I did see an appointment while I was there and there was a definite ease and attention to detail in this calm space. Seeing everyone smile would probably be a great indication the appointment was going well. If I ever need a gorgeous evening wear that captures people's attention while still being refined, I'll return here.

However, I am happy to say I really enjoyed my bridal shopping experience here. First of all, the store itself is stunning. I also love how they offer a curated selection of wedding related accessories as well such as gorgeous silk dressing gowns, bridal jewelry, clutches, bridesmaid gifts, etc. The pricing is also reasonable in my opinion, with dresses in the $1000 - $5000 range. Our consultant, Hallie (spelling?) was very sweet and helpful. I really like how they allow you to select five gowns to try first by clipping a clothespin to the top of the hanger of the dresses you are interested in trying on. They have large racks of stunning dresses to choose from and also stock Canadian designers (love that!). Your choices are then set up beautifully in a change room to try on. Hallie was awesome and helped me get myself into all of the gowns I tried on. They also had shoes for me to borrow while trying on gowns (something I seem to always forget to bring with me!) which was very appreciated. Although I didn't say yes to the dress on this particular occasion, I did really love a gown that is in my budget and (almost) everything I want. Since I have a bit more time, I will do a bit more shopping but definitely will keep Sash & Bustle at the top of my mind! Our consultant also mentioned that they offer bridal styling appointments as well, even if you purchase your gown elsewhere. I will also keep them in mind for help with this in the event I don't get my dress from this location. I would absolutely recommend stopping in for a bridal shopping visit (but be sure to make an appointment in advance!).

Location is quite small on an upper level of a store on Spadina.. at first was a little hard to find, but as long as you follow the signs it was easy to tell where it is. Nicole does have a good range in styles and she is definitely great at imagining and listening to what you actually want to wear on your wedding day. I've tried on this one dress probably 6 times just to see how it looks on me and whether it was the one (unfortunately it was not). Nicole also was super bubbly and great to talk to. She connected well with my mom and I as we were at her place and was super great with letting me try on other items like viels and tiaras as well! Sad I couldn't find my dress from her but she is definitely fun to shop with when you're looking for your bridal outfit!

To find the actual store sign, you would have to look on the side of the building from Adelaide. This is a store where I would say "Don't judge a book by its cover". Based on how the office building looked inside and how it was hard for me to locate the store sign, I immediately had some doubts about this store and started making assumptions on how my appointment would go. When I walked into the salon and was greeted by Nicole and her mom, Sharon, I still had my doubts but after 10 minutes speaking with Nicole, they went away. Nicole is a very energetic and sociable person. Depending on the personality of the bride/bridal party that visits, I'm sure some people will find her to be too strong but keep in mind, she's just very very energetic/happy and genuinely wants to help the bride (whether or not she buys from them). Although the store is small, they have great selection and if you're on a tight budget, this is DEFINITELY the place to go. I know some people who are on a fixed budget would immediately go to David's Bridal because they have cheaper prices BUT you do get what you pay for. I myself had visited David's Bridal in Mississauga on a Saturday and my experience was horrendous. I would literally compare it to a fast food restaurant but for bridal dresses. At Bridals on Spadina, you have affordable prices but there is QUALITY to it and you can tell. This is definitely a hidden gem and for any bride who is looking for a deal, take a look and see for yourself. My bridal party and I had a fantastic time at my appointment. Unfortunately I did not purchase my dress here but because of the experience I had, I wanted to make sure I leave a positive review so other brides are aware.

Only 50 dresses remained, mostly leftovers with some damage or tears but at incredibly discounted prices--$100 for a dress that originally would have cost a couple thousand dollars or more. However, it was designed for someone extremely small, like a true size 0 or double 0 in regular wear. My friend, being petite, couldn't even zip it up. Some other dresses were backless and may need a lot of alterations and fixes to make it fit perfectly. The staff there was pleasant and when I ask when they officially will close, they aren't sure... but told me until the last dress is sold. Ultimately, we didn't make a purchase. Based on the dress styles you choose, the consultant may suggest other dresses for you. I was able to try on about 6-7 dresses. The dress I said yes to was the very first dress I had tried on which was recommended by the consultant. However, I had wanted to try on the other ones as well. The changing rooms at Kleinfelds are large, with plenty of seating space for your party to chill in. The consultants will be with you in the change room helping you into the dress and making sure to are fitted into the dresses with clips. What a magical experience - even if you don't find your dress at Kleinfelds, definitely an experience to try.
