So getting makeup for the big day wasn't necessarily daunting, but I was really just looking for someone to tell me what I needed and literally pick it out for me. The ladies at Venus did exactly this without being the least bit condescending or trying to sell me anything they didn't think I needed. As I told them what I was hoping for and what I was comfortable with, they led me through picking each element and applying it on my face, right there. Not only was this a lot of fun, but they know what they're doing. Both women that worked on me--one of which was the owner--are licensed cosmetologists and their work was impeccable. These aren't just women who think makeup is fun or something--they're serious about what they do and they honestly, genuinely want you to feel beautiful. The product is amazing and, yes, very expensive. I think it's worth it though. This is top of the line stuff that I will have for a long time and love using. I would recommend Venus to anyone looking to treat themselves to something special or to look extra amazing for a special occasion. Such a beautiful shop with the nicest women imaginable behind the counter. I will be back! I need some mascara!

(Munson system had that as "our" pharmacy because my wife had been hospitalized. Arg!) After I came back twice and called the doctor's office to find out why no prescription, the pharmacist called the doctor's office and waited on hold -- they were about to close for the weekend -- so she could take the prescription over the phone. Since the other pharmacy had already filled the prescription, she then had to call them and get them to reverse it. She went WAY above and beyond to see that my wife had had her medicine over the weekend. And our cost was $4.67. She spent all that time for no money. That is real customer service.

Please train your pharmacists better. I'm tired of going there and them not being able to find my…read morescript(s) that are sitting right there on the shelf and having to make another trip to pick it up because of their mistake. The most frustrating part which I have yet to happen to me thankfully is 3 people that I know have gotten the wrong medication dose from you guys. Whoever is filling scripts needs to make sure they're filling the right dose. A 16 year old family friend received a 2.5mg dose of their BP medication instead of a 25mg dose like they're supposed to. They only noticed cause he started having headaches really bad and thought to double check his meds. Another friend of mine just infor.ed me that they were given 3x their normal strength of seroquil. Another friend of mine weren't able to get their scripts when they were supposed to because of a wrong input and also sent her with a wrong dose of medication for one of the people she takes care of. If they wouldn't have noticed, they would have given their resident a much higher dose than they should have. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING!! One of these times you guys are going to end up killing someone because of your ignorance. This is a malpractice suit waiting to happen. Do better. I'm definitely going to be looking at switching to hometown so my health isn't put in jeopardy too due to incompetence. I hope if anything happens to anyone due to all these errors, that they hold the pharmacy responsible. I understand human error and mistakes happen, but they should not be happening like this that often. Everyone who works there is more than kind but that dies make up for incompetence

They include a mix of antique pieces, which work perfectly with contemporary designs. I love the chandeliers they had throughout this most recent visit. As soo as you walk in, you can't help but fall in love, it mixes all items seamlessly, providing fun spaces, and one of a kind pieces. I've purchased a couple of jewelry items both visits, and while I would basically buy anything in the shop, it is rather pricey. But, if you are looking for pieces that truly are treasures that can be handed down, or unique items, as well as items that will last for years...then splurging isn't so bad!

*sigh* If you would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be giving Ella's anything less than 5 stars,…read moreI would have been shocked. Alas... I have been a faithful Ella's shopper for...oh man, a long, long time. 10 years at least. They used to be in this tiny, tiny place and while they did have some pricey, vintage and vintage-inspired clothes, they also had a substantial amount of real vintage, reasonably priced, *amazing* stuff. In particular, I recall that they always had once rack of adorable vintage blouses and none of them were over 30 bucks. I have an incredible lightweight black wool jacket from the 30s that is one of my all-time favorite pieces and I can think of at least three other items that I bought years ago and still adore. A few years ago or so they moved into a huge, beautiful space, still on Front Street. (Side note: I really wish they hadn't gotten rid of their old logo. It was beautiful and what they have now looks like something from Photoshop 101.) Like I said, the space is beautiful and they did a great job on the interior design, but....man, I can just not afford anything in there anymore. And I pretty much literally mean that. The bountiful rack of under-$30 blouses has been reduced to maybe 5 or so only "OK" items. Everything else is very expensive and a lot of it isn't vintage--just the same stuff you see in a lot of these high-end, plastic-y, tourist-trap "SoHo" boutiques that cater to women under a size 10. Don't get me wrong--a lot of the clothes are still beautiful and they do still have a formidable vintage section. Also, they sell Frye boots which I really, really love. I'm just disappointed to see the turn toward catering to tourists and townie yuppies with money. Something else--the staff is stylish and nice, but *way* too pushy. I hate when people try to sell me things when I'm just looking around. Also when they make me feel bad for not buying anything. I still have a place in my heart for Ella's and I still go in every time I visit T.C. I also do recommend checking it out--it is very beautiful and worth looking at! I just wish I could afford to do more than look.
