We were pleasantly surprised that there was a store much closer to us on the Southside. Of course we went inside to explore. They have so many international food but we were told this is the smallest store of there 3 locations. Parking was at a premium and as expected they had many shoppers on a weekday morning. The produce was beautiful and they had many varieties also. There is a fresh fish area and a meat area as well as a small restaurant in the back of the store. The employees were friendly and quite helpful in locating some items that we wanted. There is a large selection of fresh, frozen and canned items. You should check this place out if you are in the area.

This is a cool Asian grocery store with fresh produce, meat, snacks and other international items…read more I found two of my favorite snacks here (hello panda and rice cakes). There is a section towards the back of the store with cooked food such as pig ears, chicken feet and duck tongues. Items seemed a bit cheaper than at Saraga although not by much. The cashier line was short and the staff present were pleasant. It does have a funny smell but it is probably due to all the live animals.

(Brush up on tú español.) I ordered the al pastor burrito based on recommendations & my man ordered dos al pastor tacos and 2 suadero tacos. I enjoyed checking out the groceries while our food was cooked. It smelled amazing. We bought all of that food plus a bag of habanero chips for right @ $20.00. (The chips weren't as "hawt" as we had wished.) We took our food to the car because our dog, Zoey, was along for the ride. We ate the tacos so fast that there wasn't time for pictures of those. I don't prefer warm lettuce on burritos but the meat was scrumptious. I loved the grilled flour tortilla, but the tacos were the family favs. Zoey approves, as do we. We are thinking about going back before they close tonight at 9 pm. We will definitely be going back before next week.

Every now and then, they'll have a Crock Pot of something good going on. The smell when you walk in the door will sucker you in. And finally... my weak spot. Mexican Coke. This was the first place I ever remember seeing it in the States (although it is everywhere now) but this place is right at the back of my neighborhood. It's a little run down and a little dark but don't let that scare you off. It's got that '70s Kmart vibe (with less neon signage). I'm so used to all of the modern grocery stores that I forget that they used to look like this. It's not that it isn't clean, it's just old. Get out there and support your neighbors. A few nights ago I was browsing GrubHub looking for something different than our usual go-to…read morerestaurants. I've seen this place on there several times so I finally decided to give it a try. I'm not vegan but I eat that way quite often in an effort to reduce meat consumption and because I just have more energy when I do. They have plenty of vegan options and as far as I could tell without looking at every single menu option, it appears their entire menu is at least vegetarian. I ordered Baingan Bharta and Gobi Manchurian. Both had really great flavors (hence, the four-star rating) but were way too spicy. I'm no stranger to spicy food but this was too spicy for my taste. Any spicier and I don't think I could have eaten it. Also, the Gobi Manchurian could have stood to be less soggy. It's a deep fried cauliflower dish and one expects some crunch to it but what we got were soggy balls of veggies. I am almost always willing to give every place a second try and will give this one as well.
