We were pleasantly surprised that there was a store much closer to us on the Southside. Of course we went inside to explore. They have so many international food but we were told this is the smallest store of there 3 locations. Parking was at a premium and as expected they had many shoppers on a weekday morning. The produce was beautiful and they had many varieties also. There is a fresh fish area and a meat area as well as a small restaurant in the back of the store. The employees were friendly and quite helpful in locating some items that we wanted. There is a large selection of fresh, frozen and canned items. You should check this place out if you are in the area.

The menu is extensive and much of it was unknown to us. However the server graciously gave us suggestions and then would show us photos on her phone so we could imagine the dish. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and we orders two appetizers and two Main Street food options and had plenty for three with leftovers! The appetizer was very tasty with paneer and spinach baked into a flavorful dough. The special burger my husband devoured and even said he would get it again for sure! They do not have chicken or meat on the menu but are all vegetarian, but you don't miss the meat at all! For us who eat mostly veggie or plant bars it was delightful to be able to order anything and know it was primarily made in house veggie based! Our dishes had five curries to try which we loved, but do note there is no spice option. They come as they come, so for those not enjoying much spice make sure to ask which options are milder. Ours came with yogurts and dips which cooled things down considerably, plus they have lassis which are great for cooling the tongue. We are already planning to go back and loved it! A very different fee than other spots and a more street food feel from the Panjab. Delicious!

There is a section towards the back of the store with cooked food such as pig ears, chicken feet and duck tongues. Items seemed a bit cheaper than at Saraga although not by much. The cashier line was short and the staff present were pleasant. It does have a funny smell but it is probably due to all the live animals.

I was told that the Asian pastry contained red beans. I was thinking in my head red bean PASTE…read morelike what I grew up eating. I bought 6 for $5. When I opened the container, nostalgia from the smell hit me. It was tasty but maybe too salty to eat many at one sitting. I would not purchase again because I like the even spread of red bean paste instead of some dry beans falling out. I am giving this store 5 stars as I have not been able to find them anywhere else.

Every now and then, they'll have a Crock Pot of something good going on. The smell when you walk in the door will sucker you in. And finally... my weak spot. Mexican Coke. This was the first place I ever remember seeing it in the States (although it is everywhere now) but this place is right at the back of my neighborhood. It's a little run down and a little dark but don't let that scare you off. It's got that '70s Kmart vibe (with less neon signage). I'm so used to all of the modern grocery stores that I forget that they used to look like this. It's not that it isn't clean, it's just old. Get out there and support your neighbors. Tierra del Sol is way better quality than Walmart and not even a mile away.

You can also get Tamales and great bread on Sunday. They just started selling tacos, tortas, and burritos and so far everything that I have had is just delicious. The owner is very friendly and attentive, she treats you like family every time! I love coming here and don't doubt stopping in!
