In April I ordered delivery for her (long distance) as lockdown isolation was impacting her appetite. This was still while restos were figuring out their procedures and contactless protocols, so was happy Asian was able to deliver at that time ( I could not pickup - not in town). Mom was very happy (as per usual!) with her shrimp dish.

I heard good things about Edo Japan and…read morewanted to give them a try. - Sushi-licious Meal Deal! - the rolls were well-seasoned and honestly pretty tasty, but there is no raw fish in any of Edo Japan's rolls so I can hardly call this true "sushi". The rolls are quite small so the 16 pieces are sufficient to feed one person. Would recommend if you are craving non-raw fish sushi, while in Thunder Bay. - Teriyaki Chicken - this was good, reminds me of the franchise, Teriyaki Experience. I appreciated the teriyaki sauce on the side. I like that it doesn't taste unhealthy. - Taro Bubble Tea - this was WAY too sweet for my liking. I wish there was a way to adjust the sugar levels. The tapioca was also overcooked -- not very chewy. I would skip this.

Some people might find it strange to review a franchise, but even with a familiar brand, the food…read moreprep and customer experience can vary a lot from location to location. The Edo Japan on Arthur Street in Thunder Bay really stands out. Yes, the decor and layout are the typical Edo "cookie-cutter" style you see across the chain, but what makes this location shine is the way the team runs the place. The staff are friendly, organized, and clearly focused on making sure customers have a good experience. The food is fresh and made to order, and they're happy to customize dishes if you ask. On a recent visit, the team even brought the food out to the table when things weren't too busy, which was a nice extra touch you don't always expect at a quick-service spot. It's proof that even within a franchise, the people running the location make all the difference. This Arthur Street Edo has definitely got the customer experience dialed in.

Food was good but we were told to leave and eat outside as my mother just took few bites from my food as she was not hungry and was new to canadian taste. Not happy at all with what the manager/lead at site told. They provided the container and advised us to eat outside. It is not a buffet nor we are allowed to refill or something. What is the point to eat inside or outside the resturant. The manager literally came and refused and told to eat out as they will not allow my mother to take few bites. I paid the amount, it's on me if I need to share with 1 or 100 people. I paid for the food and portion can't go beyond what it can hold. UNHAPPY WITH THE SERVICE AND ATTITUDE OF WORKERS.

I want to preface this review by saying that you cannot compare Sushi 7 or any sushi spot in…read moreThunder Bay to the sushi spots in Toronto -- it's unfair and unrealistic to expect the same level of quality. That said, for Thunder Bay standards, Sushi 7 probably has some of the best sushi in the entire city. I ordered 3 rolls on UberEats: Toronto Roll, Golden Dragon Roll, and Torched Fire Dragon Roll. The torched one was by far the tastiest due to the torching and the sauces on top of the roll. I found that the other two lacked flavour and raw fish but were still decent (and sounded more appealing than the other rolls on the menu). The sushi rice was truthfully a little under-seasoned and a bit hard in texture but that could've also been due to the delivery (drive in the cold). Though I wish they provided standard wasabi instead of the stuff in the packets, I was happy they provided ample pickled ginger upon request. Roll sizes were average - 1.5 was satisfying, but 2 made me feel happily full. The best part: The owners were super kind and included a handwritten note and crème brûlée on the house! The crème brûlée was really yummy (though very small and I don't know if I would pay $10 for it). Regardless, I really appreciated the gesture and I think it's awesome that the owners are doing what they can to make a positive impression on their customers! All in all, if I were to have a sushi craving again, I would return to Sushi 7 to get my sushi fix in town.
