Once the conveyor pulled us to the end, my fiancé went into the store area to explain this to the clerk. "Jerry" immediately copped an attitude and asked if we just drove through the carwash at regular speed. How nuts is that? The answer, by the way, was no. All we wanted was another carwash ticket so we could get all of the salt off of our car. We were kind of upset for a couple of reasons: 1. We paid $8.00 for a carwash we never received, 2. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last few weeks, 3. Having the brushes circulate on our car with no water, with salt build-up from a week of freezing weather and lots of snow, scratches the paint. A coworker finally intervened and gave us another ticket for a carwash (a lesser wash - $6.00). When we told him that this isn't the way to treat a longtime customer, we were told, "If you don't like it, don't come back." We have been going to this gas station for about 30 years, since moving to Bainbridge. We picked up a business card with the owner's name and number on it. However, the number for the owner is the same number for the store, so who is to say if we call there that we won't be talking to Jerry.

I buy beer in Ohio often. I have never been told this. So, I think there are three possibilities: 1. This store has asinine policies. 2. The clerk has as many brain cells as hair on his head and teeth in his head (not many). 3. I was with my friend and co-worker who is black (and whose ID he also refused to accept) and he is a racist. Any way you slice it, refusing to sell beer to a 34 year old with a valid ID is stupid.
