From the moment he arrived, Chef Jon felt like an old friend. He was warm, funny, and engaging, making the entire evening feel relaxed and special. The food was phenomenal--perfectly cooked steaks, incredible parmesan risotto, the best shrimp we've ever had, delicious broccoli, and a caesar salad with homemade dressing that even won over the anchovy skeptics! The lava cake was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. What made the evening even more meaningful was that Chef Jon recreated the very first meal Marcus made for Jennifer when they were dating, adding such a thoughtful, personal touch to their anniversary celebration. When dinner was over, the kitchen was spotless, and his generosity extended beyond the meal--he even offered us his own fishing poles when he learned our rental didn't have any. Chef Jon doesn't just prepare amazing food--he creates unforgettable experiences. If you're considering hiring him, don't hesitate. You'll get an exceptional meal and memories that will last a lifetime.

I would give her 10 stars if I had the chance!…read more I would like to thank Chef Emily for taking such good care of my family yesterday. We all had a great time participating in the meal preparation during the cooking lesson she gave us at our home. All of us agree that the quality and taste of the food she had us prepare was on a par with the best restaurant meals we have experienced. While the paella tasted excellent, I personally thought the marinated grilled lamb "lollipops" appetizer we prepared was an amazing taste experience. The dessert of chocolate lava cakes with raspberry ice cream put us all over the top at the completion of the meal. Chef Emily somehow managed to get us a first class meal while giving each of us personal attention, including our 10 year old granddaughter, as we learned to execute her recipes and cooking techniques. She even did all the shopping before and cleanup after too. My expectations were exceeded and I am glad I chose her when I went searching for a chef to give us a high level cooking lesson in our home as a birthday gift for my wife. In addition to all that culinary talent, she is an amazing personality too and fit right in the entire time she was with us.

Since we were having a small, 9-person wedding (including 1 vegetarian), we wanted to hire a…read morepersonal chef for our rehearsal dinner and wedding (+ bartender/waiter for the wedding). We reached out to Chef Joe DiMaio from Chainey Briar Chef Solutions (and a few other companies) after reading the Post & Courier article that highlighted local chefs in the Charleston area. What immediately stood out to us about Chainey Briar compared to the other companies was Joe's responsiveness and professionalism. He was happy to get on a call with us to get a feel for our palate, and gave us some sample menus that we could use as a jumping-off point since we weren't initially sure what we wanted. He created a completely custom menu for both dinners, and was happy to accommodate any changes we requested. He incorporated a version for vegetarian guest for each course. While he will typically serve his meals on bamboo dishware, we wanted to rent tableware for our wedding. He helped us determine what size plates to rent, as well as how much of each type of silverware we would need. He also assisted us with the schedule/timing of how long we would need to anticipate for each course during the wedding. During both the dinners, Chef Joe was a MACHINE at getting the courses prepared and served. His level of organization and efficiency is unmatched, and everything was served on time. Chef Joe also helped us cut the wedding cake that we brought separately. For our wedding dinner, we also wanted to have a bartender/waiter, so Joe brought a trusted assistant that he had worked with before (Mike). Mike was phenomenal: he surprised my husband with a set of glassware that I had bought for him by discreetly making drinks in them and serving them to us. He also managed to make the drinks better than the recipes I provided - I can't replicate how well he made them! Now for the most important part - THE FOOD! Everything was insanely delicious and sizably portioned. My husband said he felt like he was being fed like a foie gras duck after our 5th course... but it was our 5th course. ;) NO ONE went hungry those nights! All in all - we would hire Chainey Briar Chef Solutions again in a heartbeat. Joe and his team exceeded our expectations in every way and I absolutely would recommend him to anyone!

I planned a getaway for my parents 30th wedding anniversary where we were on a boat. Chef ty went over and above to accommodate! He was able to be flexible with the space he was working in as well as the menu still getting all fresh and local food. It was a surprise for my parent as well so he was amazing at helping with all of the details! I can honestly say everyone loved and finished their plates on every single dish. Things just kept getting better and better!! Once my parents arrived, We started the evening off with a fresh made whipped ricotta cheese Crostini there he had made earlier that day!! it was unbelievable! We had three toppings that we could put on top including Olive Tapenade, Sun Dried Tomato Jam, and Local Honey from a bee farm right in Charleston!! We absolutely LOVED this starter and had plenty of leftovers that I was eating it all the next day on the boat as well. The second course started with a shaved Kale salad that was our family friends favorite part of the meal!! It was a shaved kale salad with lemon, dried blueberries, pecorino cheese and pine nuts. sounds so simple, but it was one of those things that was just so memorable and delicious!! The next dish was a roasted beet and tartar salad that was out of this world. my parents are huge beet lovers, but I personally am not and believe me when I say I cleaned my plate on this one! It was cubes of roasted beet, goat gouda (which was amazing), fine herbs, lemon, and cubes of jicama. This was such a pleasant surprise and such a different type of beet salad that everything loved. The fourth dish of the evening was vermillion snapper ceviche. THIS WAS SO GOOD! locally caught fish from that morning which you could just taste the difference in how fresh it was compared to at home (we are from Missouri so not a lot of seafood going on there). This ceviche has Persian cucumbers, chilies which gave it a little subtle kick, lime, Thai basil, and corn nuts for a bit of a unique crunch which we loved! I just couldn't believe how fresh this dish tasted which really shows how out of the way chef ty goes to get the most fresh and local food available. I mean shopping for the food day of?! comon! amazing! The fifth dish was something that my mom and I talked about trying to make at home! it was grilled pepper shrimp with watermelon, pickled watermelon rind, and mint. It was so refreshing and so delicious with the peppered shrimp that you would never think to put the two together!!! Well see how my mom's and my dish turn out, but Im sure it will not be as delicious as chef ty's! The Main event was my dad favorite part of the meal. And let me tell you we had gone to halls chophouse the night before and my parents literally said that Chef Ty's steak was the best meal they had had all week. Chef Ty served 30 day aged prime New York Strip Steak with a local purple potato puree, roasted mushrooms and an incredible bordelaise sauce. The meat was so delicious, it just melted in your mouth. If you ever have Chef Ty for an event I highly highly highly suggest having him prepare this for you!! it was life changing. Finally after all this food you would think we wouldn't have been able to eat anymore. But then Chef Ty brings out personalized Vanilla Creme Brûlées out to the boat with Gingered Sugar on top and makes them table side right in from of us!! he tops them with fresh south Carolina Peaches on top and within minutes they were completely gone. It was the perfect way to end the meal. We finished with a toast and i could see how happy my parents were all thanks to Chef Ty. He really made the night one that we will never forget. I cannot thank you enough Chef Ty, you were more than I ever could have thought of and just a stand up guy. Cannot wait to work with you again!
