I was fortunate enough to get to stay with friends in Courbevoie for a couple of weeks this past…read morefall. How could anyone not LOVE hanging out right on the outskirts of Paris. Most of the eateries in Courbevoie seemed like small, mom and pop places, perfect to cater to the working man which is what this district seems to be made up of...working class families. I wanted to have one of our last nights in France at a bit of an upscale place so onto to Yelp! I went...Le Bistrot d'Edouard came up. It was about a 4 minute walk from where we were so why not, right?
The place was kinda crowded but we were able to be seated quickly. The service staff were all very friendly but one thing became rather apparent, they weren't very organized. One server sat us down and introduced himself. His attention then went to the other patrons there and he didn't return for about 10 minutes. This time he brought back a placemant for each of us and set it on the table. Off he went to help other patrons, then another 5 or 6 minutes later, he returned with one set of silverware...that's right, one set, not two. A few minutes later, he brought the second set of silverware and menus which were in the form of an iPad that was connected to their website. Fortunately, they had English versions of the menu. We peroused the menu and ordered...some Foie gras apps, a green salad, and for entree, some sirloin and a new york strip.
The food was good, especially the Foie Gras and the NY strip. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that I saw different dishes being served to the French speaking patrons, I guess the French language menu had more items than the English version did...oh well.
Overall, a nice bistrot with great outdoor seating to people watch but would I come here again...? Maybe if I got to order from the full menu next time.
