Now, owner Terry Bath is out on Rodeo Road and making nice high quality saddles and tack. (his brother Tim in WY has made chaps for me in past). Also some accessories for the cowboys and cowgirls. We found a few treasures to take home and didn't spend a lot of money here but it was so relaxing to be in the country and enjoy their collections. The owners were friendly and helpful. We will stop again if we pass through the area while traveling.

(It looked a lot like my bookshelf at home, with many of the same books!) Looking at the inscription on the inside of the book, as well as knowing about the Japanese community in the area, I could figure out whose collection it had come from. That's the thing about used bookstores or thrift shops in a community, that eventually things get recycled. So for anyone in the North Platte area interested in Japanese- American history, this is your rare opportunity to buy some incredible books. The collection is very good, including many books about the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the most highly decorated World War II fighting unit made up of Nisei.
