We thoroughly enjoyed driving to the country and shopping this unique antique experience…read more My husband said this was the best place he's ever gone for antiquing. He goes antiquing because I enjoy it. So if he loved it you know it's cool. The many grain bins are filled with all sorts of items. The large barn has some unique pieces of large counters, bins etc from a hardware store. Super cool. It's like going to a museum filled with items of yesteryear. We found a few treasures to take home and didn't spend a lot of money here but it was so relaxing to be in the country and enjoy their collections. The owners were friendly and helpful. We will stop again if we pass through the area while traveling.

I wish I would have had more time. I loved the setup & there were so many great antiques. I found a couple of old cameras & license plates. If I'm ever back this way I will definitely be back to go through all the buildings.

I love used bookstores so was surprised to find one in North Platte. Once I came into the shop,…read morethere was quite a lot of books, but my biggest surprise was that there were several bookshelves filled with books about Japanese Americans. (It looked a lot like my bookshelf at home, with many of the same books!) Looking at the inscription on the inside of the book, as well as knowing about the Japanese community in the area, I could figure out whose collection it had come from. That's the thing about used bookstores or thrift shops in a community, that eventually things get recycled. So for anyone in the North Platte area interested in Japanese- American history, this is your rare opportunity to buy some incredible books. The collection is very good, including many books about the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the most highly decorated World War II fighting unit made up of Nisei.

The manager acts like some power-tripping "girl boss" from the 1980s working in a big city in a "man's world" when she is really just a thrift shop manager in a town in western Nebraska. She needs to look up the term "simony" and she will see she is wrong about not selling religious statues and crucifixes (but angels are somehow okay). She also needs to look up Hebrews 13:2, "Always be kind to the stranger, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Lady, you don't know just how much you've blown it.
