I was irresponsible with my spending, and i didn't know how to keep track of receipts or what my real obligations were in terms of taxes or exactly what I could write off. When I filed that first year after having a job, I got so scared when they told me how much I owed. Each year the amounts just accumulated, and I spent a lot of time avoiding serious responsibilities. I left that job after a while, and last year I met Lavera Wright. She showed me that I had nothing to be afraid of and worked seriously on my behalf to get my taxes reduced and to get me into a good standing. Today Lavera is more than just a tax professional, she teaches people how to better manage their finances and run their businesses. Lavera can even help with your credit, because of Lavera I'm in a better place where I can prosper and grow. This time, I'm learning to do it right. If you want more than just someone to do your taxes or help manage finances, come see Lavera, because she will both educate as well as fight on your behalf. This is the kind of person you need on your side.

Tim was amazingly brilliant, dynamic in our call. He connected in a very real and warm way. He quickly got down to what the issues are that are holding back; asked pointed, honest and direct questions to help you uncover the reason. He helped me get very clear about next-steps in my current resume and then take steps in transforming my resume to a good one. Investing in taking time to talk to Tim was worth it. I had sent in my linkedin profile as well as resume prior to the meeting so Tim had the time to review my profile. Right off the bat, Tim went straight into commenting on my resume, pointing out a few things that stood out to him. After inquiring about the type of jobs I was looking for, he then proceeded to make a few suggestions on how I can better present my resume while emailing me several resume samples and templates as guidance. I walked out of our first meeting feeling more supported than ever. I can see how job searching and resume updating can be a lonely, hard and long journey so it's great to have a service like Your next jump that can help you feel better on that road. Kind of like Job search therapy with tactical solutions. I highly recommend Tim's services to all jobseekers out there. He is empathetic, intelligent and to had a great sense of understanding of what I was hoping to get out of this and as a result, he more than delivered!

Our goal was to find an accounting firm in Dallas that understood our growth mindset and was entrepreneur-friendly. We wanted help with tax preparation and to make sure we were bookkeeping with best practices. It took months and countless unanswered emails to get anywhere with Kelly CPA accountants after the first in person meeting. Our intake form and answers provided were even lost by their office at one point. After calling and being blatantly ignored multiple times by the accountant their first assigned us, they finally assigned a new accountant a few weeks before the deadline to file. I asked multiple times over email and calls to meet in person to review our information since the firm lost our data. He ignored my requests for the in person meeting just like the previous accountant who was assigned. I have major issues with the way they bill. Part of it is my fault - make sure if you use them to get their fees agreed to in writing. They claim they discussed this in person at our first meeting, but we don't have this written down nor do we remember for sure if it was agreed to many months ago. They don't include pricing in the engagement letter, which makes no sense to me. A simple google search shows this business charges 2-3x the average market price for tax returns - definitely worth knowing before signing an engagement letter. Finally, after requesting a sit-down with their bookkeepers to review best practices and being ignored on that, it was clear they weren't a firm that truly cares about supporting small businesses. They have done a great job with their marketing and the millennial friendly office space - but these things definitely duped me.
