I called in an order on January 4th for a January 5th delivery (birthday). I selected this shop because it is steps away from the house being delivered to, and called instead of ordering online to ensure a prompt delivery. The flowers were delivered just now, 48 hours later. The only reason they are even there is because I called at least 5 times since yesterday. I confirmed the address 3 times, and just learned from the recipient that they were attempting to deliver to the wrong address. Oh, and the card message was inaccurate. There was no follow up or apology. On my last call I asked the shop to call me to confirm when the flowers were delivered. Crickets. I only know they were finally delivered because the recipient texted me a thank-you. Never again!!! read more

Exquisite arrangements and unparalleled customer service! If you are looking for flowers for any occasion, Hingham Greenery is the best of the best. Ellen and Richard and the whole Hingham Greenery crew just did the flowers for our wedding and the bouquets, table arrangements, boutonnieres, ceremony flowers etc could not have been more perfect. Ellen listened to our ideas, suggested great ideas and looked at our inspiration photos and on the day, totally surpassed all of our expectations. Also, everything was delivered exactly when they said it would be and for the boutonnieres, bouquets, corsages for the grandmothers, small bouquets for the mothers were all clearly labeled helping the whole morning to be easy and stress free. They are incredibly lovely to deal with throughout the whole process, are extremely responsive and thorough. Their prices are unbeatable too. Ellen streamlined the whole process and we still don't know what we would have done without her! Stopped by today because it was so beautiful out. The front of the store looked so festive so I took a few photos. A gentleman outside asked me what I was doing and I explained I was taking photos of how pretty the display was for my own personal pleasure. He asked me not to do that. He stated I could have asked him first. I said are you the owner? And he replied yes. I explained I have done business here before and I was offended at what just happened. I ordered this $130 "deluxe" upgrade version of a normally $110 arrangement as it was for my 89 year old mother on her birthday which also fell this year on Mother's Day. I have ordered this arrangement previously and it was twice the width and height. This, including delivery, was $155. Look at the size relative to a Coke bottle. Disgusting for that amount of money and I was so embarrassed and ashamed- I wanted something that said "you are really special to me" for my mom on this special birthday and instead it looked small and cheap and no one would EVER IMAGINE I paid $155 for this as it was same size as $25 arrangements at the Whole Foods 5 minutes from my house. I called Hingham Greenery and they said "well our prices are inflated on Mother's Day". That is just pathetic and shameful. Enter: The Hingham Greenery. They compiled a most beautiful assortment in less than 10 minutes that dazzled with appropriate aplomb for the dough shelled ($60 got 8 blooms and filler). A bit pricey as compared to other florists, but the quality was stellar, and what price can you put on the grateful tears on your in-laws? Mastercard knows the answer. Hingham has a surprising number of flower shops but this is my favorite. For nostalgia's sake, this is the place that did the gorgeous flowers for our wedding many moons ago. Since then a Winston's florist has opened up right around the corner. Of course, we all know what a beautiful job Winston's does and I'm not here to disparage them at all. However I think the Hingham Greenery does just as good a job, for less money and it's a local one of kind shop. I love the personalized service. The owner is a local who also owns The Snug around the corner. She is someone committed to the town. For all your flower needs I highly recommend checking out this place. read more

I called to address this issue with Hingham Greenery and instead of coming up against any resistance the woman I spoke with was understanding, very kind, and offered to replace the arrangement at no cost. It is a rare thing nowadays to have a business accept responsibility for an error and to stick to the credo "the customer is always right." I appreciated their honesty and kindness. Additionally, the prices are good, the flowers are fresh and of high quality, and they offer same day delivery (hand delivered)! Tried calling to get a quote- man was extremely rude and will only discuss options in person, not over the phone. Unfortunately I do not live in the area but will be getting married there. Many other places came highly recommended who are MORE than willing to work with you over the phone, and then set up a time to meet! I considered this florist but after several trial runs which I paid for, I quickly learned the owner was more interested in creating her own designs rather than respect what I was requesting and paying for. Her original notes didn't match the emails I had to respond to only to point out she miscalculated a few items once again. When I scheduled an appointment at her shop, I thought that meant I would receive her attention to finalize details but we were interrupted frequently and I had to keep repeating myself. This happened more than once. She seemed far from focused and had her own agenda all along. But that's not what I was paying for. She also had to keep asking the man that works there with her what was in season and what exactly it looked like (color, size of the blossom, etc.)...Aren't you a Florist? I later heard though the grapevine that other people had shared similar experiences. I decided not to pursue working with her and now feel much better about the decision I made. The more I continue to hear negative feedback the more confident I have become. I'd rather pay double than deal with that headache. I think the real problem was that I wanted "simple" - she was bored and greedy. read more
