I am a student at this school and I'm not going to lie about anything some teachers at this school need to go they are rude and don't have the correct training to deal with students that have special needs (autism, adhd). Some students are being ignored by staff when trying to speak up when they are being bullied, when you go into the main cafeteria you can look through a window to a little space that has a tree and a bench you may think the bench is for a soldier since the area is covered in poppies students have made but it's for a student that committed because of them being bullied and didn't get any help. For food it is overpriced and in the burger bar they don't sell burgers they sell paninis that give you food poisoning, everyone gets a £5 limit on spending on food per day which is not enough to get a decent lunch. They say students first as their motto but that's wrong it's grades first they want people to have perfect GCSEs and perfect behaviour to be invited to the year 11 prom which some students will struggle for since they don't get any work done because of the teachers not helping them. Another problem is homework, there is too much, some teachers expect students to bring in homework perfectly on time of given on paper and not lost as they go through school as it sits in their blazers, and they say if it's online homework " your generation is always on your phones so why don't you do your homework while on it" or " it only takes 15 mins why haven't you done it" and they think students will attend homework club when the students probably have siblings they need to look after and pick up from school while parents are at work. Another issue is students not having an allocated time to go on their phones, some students have to stay in contact with some people like therapists, family members otherwise they won't be able to cope in the loud, unorganised place, this rule is making students panic more and try to hide their phones and go on them during anytime that they get to be at ease, if they get caught they will have it taken away for a day and the parents can pick it up at the end of the day period which is technically illegal since the law states if you do not own the property you do not have the right to take it unless you have permission this means that parents can sue the school for taking their child's phone away without permission of the person who bought the phone. Overall outsold academy Hindley (formerly Hindley high) is getting 2 stars for it being like a prison where if you mess up the slightest you get into a lot of trouble. read more
