We stayed here during the a Silverstone Grand Prix and the hotel offered a variety snacks and water for guests to take with them to the track free of charge. At breakfast, they also had bacon and sausage sandwiches pre-wrapped and ready to pack and go. If you're coming to the F1 race, I would definitely recommend staying here!

I stay in the Premier Inn Northampton Town Centre on Swan Street almost on a weekly basis for work…read more I've stayed in other Premier Inn hotels all across the country for work and am quite loyal to the brand. Pros: * City Centre Based * Majority of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. * Rooms are nice, spacious and modern * Usual small TVs have been replaced with decent Large Flat Screen TVs (Although awkwardly placed above the desk) * Food isn't too bad Cons: * Mobile Signal Blackspot - it seems impossible to get a signal in majority of the rooms in the hotel. Which when they don't have phones in the room is pretty frustrating. A small card is left on the desk to call reception if you need anything however with no signal this is pointless. * Cleanliness - I'm not sure if i'm just unlucky but when you practically live in hotels you notice the cleanliness more. I've routinely had to complain about the attention to cleaning. Regularly I find hairs all over the bath/shower as well as marks on the pillow cases. I've also come back to the room after work to find its also not been serviced.

Not being a huge football fan (shoot me, I know), I'm not sure I'm as enamoured with this hotel as most. That said, it's definitely not a bad place to stay if in the area. For a typical hotel this place really does tick most of my boxes... the aircon in the rooms works a treat, the black out curtains actually block out all of the exeternal light, there is a small fridge in the room for your own drinks and snacks, and the rooms themselves are spacious... complete with a desk and extra chairs. Even not being a football fan, I must admit that the view into the stadium from the onsite restaurant is quite cool... I believe some rooms have a view as well, so obviously this can be a huge plus. The breakfast here was on par with what you would expect, but extra props for the eager willingness to make eggs however you wanted them. I can't speak to the dinners as I didn't have the chance to try them. The only odd negative can be the sheer size of the hotel as it wraps around the pitch... my particular room was hilariously far away from the entrance which proved a bit of an annoyance when after a long day my keycard no longer functioned... it was nearly soul destroying knowing my bed was just there on the other side of the door with no way for me to get to it. Based on my disclaimer I'm going with four stars personally, as I certainly wouldn't be upset staying here again, but if you're a football fan or if you generally prefer hotels such as the DoubleTree Hilton then I doubt you'll find much fault.

If you are a football fan expect to be impressed with your own private balcony view of the pitch! All rooms have a mini-bar, although you have to ask for it to be stocked. Food was excellent and breakfast even more so amazing. The best part of the whole visit, was having a warm double chocolate chip cookie shoved in my hand by the receptionist at check in! Downsides is it can be pricey when you go direct to Hilton, however check out some of the booking sites like LateRooms or Lastminute to get the best deals. I paid £70 for a night in a pitch side room. Expect the prices to rocket wherever you buy from on match days!

Today we have gone to book our spa treatments to be told that the spa is not included. This was not clear at all and we even contacted them a few weeks ago to book treatments for the Spa day and were told that we would be able to book on the day with no mention of the fact our stay did not include the spa. Furthermore, the FAQ specifically on our booking mentions that the heat and ice experience are not recommended for pregnant people, which would indicate it was included. We have tried speaking to someone, have offered to pay extra to be told no. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive for a hotel stay for over £200 and due to the rudeness will not be going and will be contacting our bank. Really disappointed. This is the same package we have booked over the previous 5 years. I would not recommend and they have lost a faithful customer!

A single supplement is a whopping £60. It's a large hotel with a very strange system of room numbering and a maze of corridors on two floors. If you expect your room starting with a '4' to be on the fourth floor, then you will not find it as there is no fourth floor, it is all on the second floor, and the numbers do not go in any order, luckily the number signage is very good or you would end up all night going round and round! The Whisper Area with hanging chairs and water beds was a lovely area to relax in, except it was spoilt by the heavy footfall and people laughing and talking as the spa was much too busy. The Heat and Ice was an experience, although did not see anyone doing the Ice experience! Again this area is too busy, the jacuzzi was packed and you had to wait for everything like the hot seat, the stone bed (didn't do anything for me), the foot spa, and the sauna, steam, crystal rooms were all very full and felt quite uncomfortable with too many bodies. I did not go to the pool area which was on a different level, as it was jammed packed with bodies. The treatment waiting area was much, much nicer, as less people and quiet. I had the body massage which was excellent. The buffet lunch was average, salads and cold meats. We had the last sitting at 2pm so the food was not as fresh as if you had the first sitting and mostly had ran out. The dinner was much better, waiter service and I absolutely loved my Orzo Pasta starter with sun dried tomatoes, artichoke, red pepper coulis. It was absolutely delicious. Wish they did it as a main as it was just not enough. For mains I had the braised brisket of beef, which came as a large block, looks weird and it was much too salty. It came with herb crushed baby potatoes which was perfect and delicious, roast shallot, a couple of leaves of kale and red wine jus. I had to ask for more kale since it was very bland, it helped me to eat the very salty beef otherwise, I would not have been able to eat it! For dessert, I had the maple and pecan sponge, tonka bean ice cream. Alas, the small scoop of ice cream was almost liquid by the time it came, and the maple syrup was much too sweet for my taste. So a very hit and miss meal. The buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices, from black pudding to hash browns, scrambled eggs, the whole works for the hot choices, and Continental for the cold. All in all a relaxing time spent for a friend's special birthday. Missed the little details though in the rooms, no little bottles of body lotion or shower cap. If you forget to bring, these are really useful, and I had to buy flip flops for the spa, as I forgot my own! But it came with a nice holdall. May be visit again during week days when it is less busy and go out to eat!
