Stayed here while in town for work. I was upgraded to a room in the river (1778). It was a really nice room with a fantastic view of the river. The breakfast was really nicely done. The food was great. The room was clean and the bathroom and shower were super. Will definitely t stay here again.

I have stayed at this property 4 or 5 times this year. Extremely friendly staff from the customer service desk to the bar and restaurant staff. Great views of the river as this property is right on the river. Breakfast is a wonderful spread with something for everyone. Parking is VERY expensive 34 Euros per 24 hours, but it's hard to beat the location. The rooms are very nice, clean and modern. No pool on property. There is a nice restaurant though the menu is limited. I recommend and I will be back

Stayed here overnight at the beginning of our Germany, Switzerland And Austria tour. Beautiful location right on the Rhein river and 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants. The room was a good decent size, we were on the top floor facing the street but didn't hear any traffic noise whatsoever. Bathroom was very clean and spacious. Water pressure was excellent, shower feels like you're getting a power wash. The mattress was really hard so it took me a while to get comfortable and fall asleep. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived around 9am, our room wasn't ready but we were able to store our luggage. They were also nice enough to lend us an umbrella so we could walk around town in the rain. We had both dinner and and breakfast buffets. Excellent selections with lots of good flavors. The best part is the view of the river you get to enjoy whilst having your meal.

My view....it's def not what I had in mind.

First, the hotel is no where near the train station so if you aren't driving you will need to take a cab or 2nd source of transportation. I was really looking forward to staying at the hotel because it was my last stop before going home. The welcome desk was nice. Finding the room was a task because I was in the rooms located on top of the bank. No signs AT ALL told us where our room was once we got off the elevator; we asked for help. We had to walk a distance just to find the damn room. It was over a glass bridge and of course we were the last room, a problem because of our how tired we were from our trip through Germany and Austria. We just wanted to chill out. When we got to our room, it was such a treat to see they had set up a doughnut, waters and fruit. Full amenities and comfy bed. The point of staying at this Hilton location instead of the city Hilton was that people were boasting about the view of the Rhine. I booked my room very far in advance and a rewards member so you could imagine my annoyance when my view was of grubby apartments. In fact, the bed faces the apartments....uhhhh, yay! Bring out the popcorn. Furthermore, as mentioned, it is a little further from things than I would have liked. Not quite a total loss because our room was lovely but we were a 4 minute walk to the lobby and restaurant area. If I could do over I'd stay in a guest house...they looked nice.

Very nice hotel centrally located in Mainz, everything within walking. Actually, if you walk out the back door which is even nicer than the front, the hotel sits right in front of the amazing Rhine River. The beds are very comfortable, a great view from the 6th floor and the air conditioning worked great in the month of July. Oh and the Wi-Fi was strong enough to post this review and pictures on Yelp without any troubles. Much easier than some of the hotels in Italy.

Comfortable hotel with a great breakfast buffet selection! Great selection of bread, also enjoy the smoked salmon and herbed smoked salmon. Convenient to walk to local restaurant, recommend brauhaus zur sonne.

I've stayed here for over 2 months, overall I'd recommend staying here over any other hotel in the Mainz area. Clean sheets, delicious breakfast buffet (American & German style), and conveniently located next to all of the shops, bars, clubs, restaurants, festivals etc. Most of the hotel staff are friendly and chipper. They appear to really love their job, which makes me as the customer more comfortable. Multiple staff members have gone out of their way to accompany me during my long stay. It was a little "bumpy" at first, but the staff took action immediately after confronting them about any issue I had.

Avoid this place. So frustrating to not even being able to load a simple website

Nice hotel, but horrendous internet infrastructure. The are behind decades. They need seriously to get up to date.

We probably stayed here much longer than we should; eight days, although we were at a part of our…read morejourney where we didn't much want to pick up and move every other day, plus we wanted to learn as much about Mainz as possible. We did a lot of walking, visiting shops, doing laundry, etc. As others have mentioned, Klaus is very engaging, speaking excellent English, plus he helped me work on my slowly advancing German skills. Uschi is less well versed in English, but she tries. The pair also operate the adjacent Specht restaurant in the evening. They also have a dog, Ambela, with whom we fell in love, but then we are dog people anyway. Klaus tried to keep her corralled occasionally, but for the most part she had free run of the hotel and the restaurant. Others might not be so willing to share their environment with her. The beds were single beds, so my spouse and I had to sleep separately. They were actually better beds than a 3-inch mattress on a wood box (not a box spring) might lead you to believe. The wifi in the room (3rd floor - equivalent to 4th floor for Americans) was EXTREMELY spotty. There were large spans of time when the signal in the room was non-existent. And very slow when the signal was present. Klaus tried to make apologies, and said that there were routers on each floor. Signal absence didn't really do much to make that an effective excuse. Fortunately (sort of) I discovered on the second day that sitting in the "lobby" there was an excellent, fast signal, so when I really REALLY needed to post some photos, I could go down there. This was summer, at 50° North Latitude, so sunrise made the room bright by 5am (the windows and curtains were kept open to keep the room acceptably cool). Soon thereafter, workmen appeared. There was renovation being done in the platz on water, gas and electric lines, with the concomitant heavy equipment running. It didn't do much for our ability to sleep as late as we'd like, but that will be only a temporary condition. The platz is fully cobblestoned, so deliveries to nearby businesses, like the adjacent bar were being done by wood pallets on pallet jacks. A smooth surface would not have been a problem. Clattering on those cobblestones was quite noisy indeed, especially early in the morning. As others have reported, we got the "Is it possible to pay in cash?" gambit on our next to last day. Hey, I get it. Credit card companies charge sometime exorbitant fees to process payments. At least we didn't get the "our machine is broken" sob story. We were dubious about being able to acquire so much cash on short notice, and told him so. Klaus tried to be a little more accommodating; Uschi seemed to be pushing him to be more insistent on cash payment. If we had known at the beginning of our stay, we might have been able to work it out. As it was, finding out on the day before checkout, it could not be done. We went to the GeldAutomat that morning, and came up with about a third of the bill. The rest had to be done on the card. Sorry, Klaus and Uschi.
