(Back then it was Danzig) I have the day off today, so here comes the most delayed review I have ever posted in my history of Yelping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Radisson Blu! The hotel was a manageable size, and the staff working the front desk were warm and friendly. The location is top notch, with the main entrance just barely off the main drag in Gdansk. In fact the restaurant in the hotel has windows on the main street. Being Radisson Rewards Gold members, we were upgraded to a suite, and sweet it was! It had a separate sitting/tv area with leather couches and chairs, a large bathroom with a separate toilet area, and a separate bedroom with windows that opened for fresh air. I travel often for work and something as simple as windows that actually open is a big thing for me! The breakfast was delicious with many options from which to choose. The hostess was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time there. They had a small bar to the side of the lobby, and more than once we had to search for someone to serve us a "zimne piwo". But that wasn't such a big deal. To sum it all up, we loved this place and will hopefully return on our next trip to Poland.

GLUTEN FREE bread, lactose free milk and lactose free yogurt. Real eggs. Waffles. Desserts. Smoked and cured fish and meats. They have it all. Amazing. I also ate the steak dinner and an extra side of the fried potatoes (my Irish self couldn't help it). And it was delicious. Personally the peas were too crunchy for me but I see where they were going with the texture difference. The Room Nothing too special. I think all hotel rooms look about the same. The pillow option was poor. But the bed was comfortable and I could open my window for fresh air. Hot kettle in room for tea. Mini fridge. Nice enough. The Bathroom Option to have a tub or not. I chose tub. It was a nice shower head and heated towel racks. Good layout. Hot water heated up instantly which was amazing. I did not like the scent they had selected for the body wash and shampoo but that is subjective. Hotel Overall Clean, safe, friendly. According to the other review the surrounding buildings aren't nice. Well an update for that, they are doing construction on surrounding buildings but no notable noise in the room. The location of the hotel is great. Walk right into downtown. On the river. Very scenic.

First, everything is really cheap in Poland. The hotel only cost something like $65 US Dollars. So this place could have been the equivalent of a Thrift Inn back in the US and it still would have been a bargain. The hotel is situated in the old section of what I was told used to be an island where all the grain was stored. I don't know what the deal was with the surrounding buildings, but most of them looked like they had been bombed out or abandoned. Some buildings had just one or two walls standing. Not sure why, but the aesthetics surrounding the building weren't that good. They are right on the river, but it was way too cold to really do anything out there. Also, it was pretty dirty actually. The rooms were nice, everything was clean, and it seemed very modern. Again, for the price, I was not expecting the quality and modern look of the rooms. My room price came with breakfast and it was a good quality spread of food. There were some local flavor there, but nothing out of the ordinary. The business spaces were modern and clean. Coffee and pastry service was good throughout the conference. It is a short walk to the downtown area (5 minutes) but be prepared to get hit up for lots of the dance clubs near the Hard Rock Café. There are plenty of good restaurants in that area to choose from. Lots of them are located on the river. Good hotel, friendly staff. If I have business in Gdansk, I would come back here.

They are keeping every penny for our planned 3 night stay, and wont even let us reschedule for next fall. Word to the wise: if you care about customer service and not getting screwed for failing to have anticipated a worldwide pandemic, book at a Marriott (full refund on a non-refundable rate) or thru Expedia (same) and stay in Krakow at the Hotel Unicus or in Warsaw at the Hotel Bristol. And never, ever use hotels.com. When I do get to Gdansk, you can be damned sure we wont be spending a moment at the Hotel Podewils.

Only 10 Rooms, which I think, are all different and a flashback in Time. No mixed style, no modern and antique chi chi combination, it's all old or well included (bathroom etc.) I simply adore everything about this Hotel, starting at the Lobby which is the first Lobby I like to sit down for a nice pot of Tea and Reading... the breakfast is also great and some things you can find on the buffet there give you an Impression what it is like to eat there for Dinner... (Restaurant is called "the River") It's also great. The staff in the Hotel is very friendly and professional but somehow as you stay there for some days it feels like a family Environment aswell. So all in all if you appreciate splendid service, old Interior, lovely little details as much as I do, you should definetly book some nights...
