The shower was gross. See attached photos. The carpet was also shoddily vacuumed. There is no to sheet on the bed... For the price...I expect more.

Plungers throughout the hotel.

This hotel is not friendly to sports teams. 90% of the hotel was booked with hockey teams. All teams were threatened to be kicked out for the actions of a couple of kids on another team. A code of conduct was required to be signed a day after we checked in and if we did not sign it we would be kicked out. Our children were not allowed in the hallway without an adult. Meaning they couldn't even get ice. My son was confronted by a staff member when getting ice, he's 13 years old. The toilets and showers were clogged and plungers were laying around the hotel. The staff did not clean rooms daily so guests put their garbage in the hallway garbages. They ended up over flowing and they weren't cleaned regularly. Some guests were told the breakfast was free and others were charged for the morning breakfast. I would highly recommend not staying there as an individual or a group.

Breakfast of champions!!

Quiet, clean and efficient. There is nothing aesthetically pleasing about this place, but it's a good place to grab some rest.

Several truckers parked in lot which I did not expect. Glad there is a gas station and Quiznos in parking lot. Checkin was exceptional with friendly and accommodating service. I had just traveled all day and asked for bottled water which she happily provided. Room is nice and large. Cleanliness 7/10 - needs wipe down of doors, faucets, buttons, outlets etc. A deep clean would make a big difference. Bathroom is small and frustrating. Door opens right into the toliet so you cannot sit down without shutting door and having right in front of you. Bed is very comfortable but has very small pillows. Not traveling with children but the water slide would be an attraction for kids. Free breakfast is appreciated. Fair for the rate ($130 ish)

The staff are very inconsistent tho and some visits I do encounter staff with bad attitudes. The main pluses for this place are: - complimentary breakfast - comfortable beds - complimentary shuttle to nearby businesses - clean gym facility The location is definitely not that great with only 2 restaurant next door. And very far from the airport or downtown or any main attractions.

I am a Lifetime Diamond Hilton Honors member and stay at Hilton properties frequently. Because of…read morethat, I have a clear expectation for what quality hospitality and guest service should look like. No amount of renovation can compensate for poor customer service. On Sunday night (3/11), my check-in experience with Beth at the front desk was excellent. She was welcoming, professional, and genuinely focused on guest satisfaction. Despite the hotel being under renovation, she placed me in a nicely updated, quiet, and comfortable room. The renovation itself looks great. My only minor maintenance note would be a loose showerhead in an otherwise well-updated bathroom. The next morning, however, the service experience was disappointing. I arrived for breakfast around 8:10 AM, with breakfast advertised until 9:00 AM. Most of the food trays were nearly empty, and guests were scraping the bottom of the pans for meat, eggs, and potatoes. Instead of restocking the buffet, the breakfast attendant was chatting at the front desk. When I politely mentioned that breakfast was still being served for nearly another hour, the front desk associate did not offer an apology, assistance, or even basic acknowledgment. There was no "I'm sorry," no "How can I help you?" -- just a dismissive look and a quiet comment made to the breakfast attendant. The message was clear: my concern was an inconvenience. That response is the opposite of hospitality. Guests should never feel uncomfortable for asking about a service that is actively being advertised. Mornings are when hotels should be focused on supporting and delighting guests, not appearing irritated by them. Beth's service the night before demonstrated what great hospitality looks like. The morning interaction showed the complete opposite. Because of this, I chose to check out early and move to another hotel. Pros: * Excellent front desk service from Beth on 3/11 * Quiet, comfortable, renovated room * Property updates look nice Cons: * Breakfast not properly stocked * Staff focused on conversation rather than guests * Dismissive, unhelpful front desk response in the morning If I were the General Manager, I would strongly revisit how morning service and guest interactions are handled -- because service, not renovations, is what truly defines a hotel experience.

She left and told she would be right back but some time later, she called my room and told me there was nothing they could do because they were booked solid. Upon further inspection of the bathroom, the damage and, what I think was mold on the ceiling, showed there was no way they didn't know about the problem prior to my booking. I suffered through the night and woke with a bad headache. In the morning, I had to ask to see a manager and had to ask for a refund (which was given). I asked the manager why they knowingly rented a room with a problem. I was told, "well you wouldn't have had the room to stay in otherwise" seriously! Weary traveler beware.

Legitimately we'd have to put the key card in the door lock 15-20 times before it would turn green and unlock. Our room had 5 smaller than expected pillows on the king bed and four of us staying in the room. The kids each took one for the sleeper sofa, leaving my wife and I with three when we normally use two each at home. I went down to the lobby to ask for an extra on our first night and was told they didn't have any extras. In the entire hotel. How odd. The king bed wrecked my back. It was so uncomfortable that I couldn't move for the first 20 minutes on the second morning. The other two mornings weren't as bad, but it hurt a lot. Weirdly, the comforter felt and sounded like a plasticky material. The continental breakfast was underwhelming at best. Most items were running low at all times and the only two "hot" buffet items were thin pieces of Canadian bacon and lukewarm egg patties. On our second to last day, a sheriff was going up to the fourth floor as we were attempting to go down to leave for breakfast. As we were exiting the hotel, two more sheriffs walked in and moved towards the elevator. When we pulled out of the parking lot, another sheriff SUV pulled in. Finally, as we turned onto the main road, another sheriff was getting off the highway and in the rearview mirror I could see their car turn towards the hotel. I don't know what happened, but it doesn't surprise me. It wasn't all bad. The kids enjoyed the water slide and the pool, the location is convenient with stores and restaurants nearby, and the price wasn't horrible. As stupid as it sounds, I was also impressed with how quickly the water heated up in the bathroom sink. None of that would get me to stay here again.

Note: there are hours of operation and periodically, short breaks are taken. Our only feedback for improvement was the keycard not working on and off. We had to keep going to the desk to get new cards for our room. Kinda inconvenient, but nothing too terrible. We've decided we will be back in the future for another staycation. Thank you, Comfort Inn & Suites for a lovely stay. Kimberly at the front desk was SO nice and just makes for a great experience; your customer service skills did not unnoticed.

With that being said i MUST say that this AmericInn hotel by Wyndham/The Mermaid entertainment and event Center here in Mounds View, MN is by far with no comparison THE BEST HOTEL that we have seen around this area. After checking into our room we ordered some food from room service that was made at The Mermaid and then brought over to our room. This place goes above and beyond with their AMAZING attitudes and their customer service. Joe brought over our food and we didn't hear him knock so he walked back over to The Mermaid and then contacted us, and from most places we would of gotten attitude and probably would of had to walk over and get our food ourselfs. NOT HERE, Joe was amazing and even though he was very busy over at The Mermaid, Joe insisted that it was ok and that he would be over shortly with it food again. LET ME TELL YA, the food we ordered was the best we had both had in a good while. I have been on a mission to find the place around here that has amazing cheese curds and till we can here I had not found anything even remotely close too amazing. THE CHEESE CURDS AND ONION RINGS HERE LITERALLY JUST BECAME #1 IN MY BOOK ARE A MUST HAVE IF YOU EVER STOP BY HERE. after eating we went exploring and checked out the gaming room that was here with so many different cool games to try out. We stopped my the bar where the bartender Sky poured us up a couple of perfectly mixed drinks. From the bar we mosied down to check out the bowling, where we happened to run into Joe (the one that brought our food) again who was running the bowling. Joe was so prompted with helping us get all checked in and shooed up and ready for bowling even With how busy it was. I'm also a person that's full of questions about places we stay, and Joe was happy to answer all my questions I had with a smile on his face. Joe was very knowledgeable and beyond helpful with everything. I know that when I plan my next event that it is going to be here and I'll be requesting Joe to be the one that helps. SHOUT OUT TO YOU JOE FOR BEING AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ROCK STAR AT YOUR JOB HERE! YOU SIR HAVE GREAT POTENTIAL WITH WHAT YOU DO! Now this morning we went down for the continental breakfast... YUMMM! They just only have waffles but there were eggs and bacon and sausage gravy and biscuits just to name a few. There were plenty of people down there when we went and normally that means that all the good stuff is gone except the waffles. To my extatic surprise there was still plenty of the eggs and stuff. We owe a big THANK YOU to Tammy who was the one running all over the place keeping all in line and cleaned up and stocked. She could tell when someone needed help with something and Tammy, dawning the most inviting and lovely smile ever was right there to see what she could do for us and what she could help with. Thank you so much Tammy for sharing your kindness with us while we were there!! I really can't say enough about how wonderful this stay has been here. 100% without a doubt we will be coming back here.. I recommend that anyone looking for an amazing hotel stay you need to come stay at this AmericInn hotel by Wyndham/The Mermaid I promise you, you won't be disappointed!

I went to bed and I couldn't figure out how to get the curtains to be dark. the brown ones didn't move. so I tried to go to bed, but i pretended like I was in Alaska where its sunny for 6 months, I guess that gives me a reason why I live in Iowa. so I got some ingenuity and got out a spare blanket. which by the way is like sand paper, and the hangers with clips and created a makeshift room darkening blind. Then when they came to clean the room, they pulled the actual blinds that were hidden behind the sheets. now I feel really stupid! The breakfast was pretty decent eggs, sausage, pancakes, and everything else you would find on a continental breakfast. I just wish it started before 630. The clinic recommended Home2Suites by Hilton as an option to stay when we brought Huck to town. I'm writing this review during my fourth stay in 10 months because each time I think a stay can't get better, it does. They knock it out of the park each and every time! The pet-friendly hotel is close to the University so it's perfect to take my dog back and forth between appointments. While at the hotel, there's ample outdoor space to walk your dog and there's even a large courtyard for pets to run and play. During warm weather, the hotel has a patio in the courtyard with tables and a grill. So you can enjoy yourself while your pupper does too. There's also an indoor swimming pool. Rooms are large, roomy, comfortable and best of all, clean! The kitchen area has a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. Cooktops with skillets are also available. Ample dishes and flatware are stocked in the rooms. Paper towels, dish soap, etc. too. Each room also has a couch and table. I can't say enough good things about the employees. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a smile and a helpful attitude! On this most recent visit, my dog was scheduled for a second brain surgery and the front desk team gave me a "get well" card for him. The next day they generously gave my a huge gift bag of treats and toys for Huck to enjoy, which was amazingly thoughtful. I'm a pretty picky person and like to call myself a "service snob." But there's nothing this hotel needs to improve because they already to everything right. I whole-heartedly highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a pet-friendly hotel near the University.
