So friendly, engaging, and truly made the night special. She also made one of the best cosmos I've ever had. Also made me a great vodka, seltzer with a splash of cranberry juice. My husband and I have a group of friends that live locally. We enjoy dining out and relaxing especially on a Friday evening. There are a few hotels/restaurants that we love to go in the Riverhead area and sadly this is not going to make the list. We had to get up and ask where 2 out of the 6 dinners were. Drinks tasted watered down. The dining area is open and a large family came in with children running all over the place, and jumping all over the furniture. Far from a relaxing experience! My chicken sandwhich was very salty and the roll fell apart due to being very dry. One of the couples were running about 5 minutes late and the bartender would not honor the happy hour price for a beer. I do not recommend dining here. Not sure about sleeping accommodations. read more

The stay improved. The water was fixed late morning of day 2. The staff on days were nice and unlike the previous night, they told us the truth. (No one was working on the plumbing at 2:00 am.) We stayed at this Hilton Garden, and a couple of times, and we generally enjoy it. The facility is clean and the front desk staff is very nice. They have a full service restaurant which is useful because based on the location you have to go out of your way to get places since you can only turn right out of the hotel. That sounds weird but you'll understand if you come here. There is an indoor pool with very cold water and an outdoor hot tub. There's also a nice but small fire pit area outside. Rooms are a little dated and show some wear but comfortable and clean. Hallways on the third floor showed a lot wear and tear (lots of scruffs and scratches on the walls) but you can still see this place is well maintained. I'll be honest that I was a little turned off by the giant stack of Epoch Times newspapers in the lobby. But maybe I'm not the target market for this hotel. I'll note that when we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express down the road I did not see any polarizing newspapers on display. That aside, this is a well managed property and the team that runs it does a great job. read more

This is a nice little Hilton in Riverhead, NY!! It's next door to a Residence Inn by Marriott and across (literally) the street from the Tangers Outlet! This Hilton is three floors and includes a 24 hr shop to buy snacks -- don't buy anything unless you ABSOLUTELY have to. My son and I checked in late (places were closed). 2 bags of chips, 2 Nesquick milks, a Hot Pocket and 2 alcoholic drinks cost $70 They have a restaurant on site which serves breakfast from 6am -10am and dinner from 5pm-10pm. Employees were nice, but breakfast was mid, but ok. The Indoor Pool and Jacuzzi ("Spa") were nice. The water wasn't too cold for the pool and the spa was a nice temperature even though the jets weren't working properly (or maybe I didn't know how to turn them on). I like that I was able to have a digital key on my phone that allowed me unlock all of the areas within my scope as a guest. Employees were friendly, and very helpful when needed. If I had to return to this area, I would definitely attempt another stay. read more

This is the second time Ive been here in the last 5 years. All I can say this hotel is in desperate need of an update. The chairs in the dining room are torn and ripped. The tables are icky. The rooms are in need of immediate fresh paint. Plus it would help if they were cleaner. I won't go back until It is totally updated and clean. read more

Stayed 2 nights recently at this hotel and had a terrible experience. Found 2 shards of glass/plastic on the floor of the bathroom. Gave the pieces to the front desk and asked that the room be cleaned. Tipped the housekeeping person and told them about the problem; requesting that the bathroom floor be swept and vacuumed. Nothing was done until I called the front desk complaining angrily. Hotel management never called. Never received an explanation of the problem. Never received an apology. The cost for the 2 nights was in excess of $1000. Will never stay at this hotel again and would never recommend it to anyone. Would give zero stars if that was possible. read more

I was on a business trip and stayed overnight. The Hotel was great very modern and accommodates me staying on the first floor. The restaurant was surprising. The food price was reasonable and I had a special burger with bacon avocado. There was other items in it but I forgot. Nevertheless, it was very good and I would go there even if I didn't stay there. Billy the waiter was great! They have a nice outdoor area with lights and a firepit. Very enjoyable. Room was clean. The remotes are wrapped to avoid the spread of Covid germs. They had a pool, but unable to check it out. My disappointment was breakfast. They would do buffet but the times forced that to change. I felt the quality of breakfast was very off. Sausage and bacon is cheap pre-made and tough to eat. It's not the cooks fault, it's what they are ordering. Coffee is free and include a machine for cappuccino and espresso. Overall, I would return, but I might skip the breakfast or just order pancakes. read more

I reserved a room a room through resservation Desk. Hypoallergenic meant pillows weren' t feathers. Then I was told there was no bellhops, but they did have carts. I use a rollator. The rooms looked like they had not been remodeled in 20 years., and the sheets and quilt smelled of body odor and were tattered. I had them changed for less smelly sheets that were just as tattered. The restaraunt on first floor was excellent except because there is no bellhop I tried to carry tea and burned my hand. My hair clothes smelled like perfume after I sat in lounge and desk chair. I went to rinse my hair and bathroom was filled with smoke. Had someone cleaned it. They would have aired it out. I had called the reservation desk for a hypoallergenic room so they were the first party to blame. This hotel may have a whirl pool, eatery, but it's guest rooms are in dire need of reservation. read more

I had Hilton points which I had to use or lose so it was a convenient excuse to take a trip to the North Fork wine country and have a comfortable place to stay afterwards . They have a nice location just a couple of hundred yards off the LIE and right across the street from the Outlet Shopping Facility. This hotel is taking COVID seriously and has plenty of precautions in place. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see the bar was still open in the evening, socially distanced of course. They also still served a hot breakfast in the morning, but sadly, not free. If the breakfast eggs and potatoes had been better, and had I gotten a larger order, I might have given a 5 rating. Still, not having to leave the hotel in the morning for a decent breakfast was a plus in this pandemic era we live in now. They also have a pantry area by the Front Desk where various goodies can be purchased, including beer. My room was large, clean and comfortable. Having a mini fridge was a plus. I was able to get a good night's sleep on a pretty firm mattress, which was nice, as hotel mattresses usually run softer than I like. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent place to stay after a long day out east. read more

A Tale of Two Towels I had the pleasure, along with much of my family, of attending the wedding of my nephew this weekend at Riverhead, New York. Unfortunately, this pleasure did not extend to our accommodations at the Riverhead Hilton Garden Inn. I am embarrassed for my brother and sister-in-law that this was the hotel offered to their guests. When I say that my stay at the Hilton was the most disappointing I have ever experienced would be an understatement. As a career member of the U.S. military and on pleasure trips both in this country and overseas, I've stayed in many hotels from budget inns to the priciest. It is no hyperbole when I say that the Riverhead Garden Inn was the worst of the lot. Especially since it was the most expensive I've stayed at in many years. To be sure, it certainly looks nice and offers many amenities (which, frankly, still do not justify with what I consider an exorbitant rate), but that is not the reason I'd prefer to stay in a Sicilian waterfront hostel which charges by the hour. No, it is the surly, most unhelpful attitude and behavior by the staff. It is apparent to me that they must have missed the class on Customer Service when seeking a Hotel Management degree. Sadly, despite the cheery placards which trumpet the Hilton guarantee of the ultimate experience possible, the Garden Inn falls well short of the mark. The most glaring example of this is the reaction we received when asking that more towels be provided to our rooms. I have never in more than forty years felt guilty when asking to be helped. But, I most certainly did this weekend. Upon arrival, I saw that each room was provided only two bath towels. This for a room with two adults who are staying two nights. When I asked for more, I was told that I could exchange used towels for fresh ones. To be honest, I thought the front desk was putting me on for some Candid Camera gag. Sadly, they were dead serious. This is completely unacceptable, if for nothing else than I needed to wait for them while I was ready to take shower. Then, when the towels finally arrived, they weren't even bath towels. They were blue pool towels. Once again, blue pool towels when I am paying nearly $1,000 for two nights? The snarky excuse I was provided is that the hotel is rationing towels because, apparently, guests are stealing them. Well, I'm sorry (actually, I'm not), but if I'm paying-once more-nearly $500 a night (with a MINIMUM two-night stand), I would think the Hilton could suck up the cost of a $5.00 towel. Or, if a guest does take a towel, assess that guest when they check out. How hard is that? Good grief. To be treated as a towel parasite is beyond the pale. To emphasize my point, this has never in my life been an issue. Never. Incidentally, I was curious what would have happened if I asked for more toilet paper. Would I have had to plop an empty roll on the front desk to get a fresh roll? Sign a sworn affidavit that I was efficient in my use of said bathroom tissue? Two squares maximum (one if two-ply)? Thank goodness I didn't see a Taco Bell during my stay. Needless to say, I will never again stay at a Hilton property. What's more, I will encourage family and friends to do likewise. The bright spot? This Towel Fascism will provide many laughs in the future. I will say that the shuttle drivers who brought us back and forth from the venue were outstanding, helpful people. Although, I would not be surprised if they were not Hilton employees. read more

I always thought that the Hilton was a fine, superb and accommodating hotel. On June 17 at 3:00 pm, my wife and I walked into the hotel and mistakenly, we were at the wrong hotel. After asking the desk clerk twice to check if we had a reservation, she was annoyed that she was checking again. She said you are probably at the Holiday Inn in Riverhead. I asked her if she had the phone number, and her nasty response was "google it". Wow!!! What courtesy and sensitivity to our request!!!!!!! This female young clerk should go for people training-our honest mistake now turned into me writing this because of her arrogance and condescending manner. I will never ever stay at a Hilton. By the way, the Holiday Inn at Riverhead was the complete opposite-very friendly, and nice people. read more

Centrally located hotel that is maintained very nicely. We had a king room - bed was comfy and the linens fresh and inviting. The room was spacious enough for us and the portable crib. The bathroom was clean buT could use some updating. There was nothing wrong with it but the toilet was super short and it just seemed a little dated. We enjoyed the pool and the hotel bar on one night. The pool was small but well kept. The jacuzzi was great and much needed after a long day. The staff was friendly and helpful. They accommodated our requests and everyone one was great. Overall, great value for our 2 night stay. read more

What was good: Check in- Madeline was great and personable even late at night Location- Near lots of restaurants, farms, breweries, shopping and more COVID policies- masks wearing was enforced as well as social distancing What was okay: Pool- Indoor pool wasn't warm enough but otherwise decent size and nice Grab & Go Marketplace- decent selection but not enough freezer items & not the alcohol selection we wanted. Would have been nice to see some local selections. Tanger Outlet Coupons- They just had a stack of these next to the grab & go marketplace. Considering they are right across the street from the outlets it would've been great if they gave us these at check-in. What was bad: Bathroom- In our room there was some strange looking red spots all over the door frame. Couldn't tell if it was mold, rust or blood. Totally gross either way. There was also hair on the walls Acoustics- When we were in our room (room 119) we could hear absolutely everything. Any time a toilet would flush in another room, a sink would turn on, if someone walked around upstairs, etc we could hear it like it was in our room. This kept us from having a good nights sleep. Also, I don't know if they were doing construction or repairs somewhere in hotel but throughout the evening we heard banging very loudly. We were exhausted at the end of our stay. Curtains- Our room looked out into the parking lot. However, the only curtain was a sheer see through one. They had another thicker curtain that was just for show though as there was no track to close that curtain so that we wouldn't expose ourselves every time we wanted to change for bed. Would I stay there again? Yes, but only off season. The price ($180+ tax/night) was WAY too expensive for this hotel. If I paid $100 for it I would consider it more worthwhile. read more

There's nothing wrong with this hotel ... it's clean, has been updated and the location is great if you are interested in doing some shopping at the Tanger Outlets. You have a lot of options now in Riverhead ... Marriott next door is my favorite because it's brand new and slightly nicer than Hilton. There's a Holiday Inn Express, which is basic ... the free breakfast there might be worth it to families. The Hotel Indigo has a bit of a cooler vibe and feels more boutique-like but the rooms are smaller and their staff is terrible. The Hyatt near downtown is not in a safe area and just kind of blah. My biggest reason for a 3 star review here is the service. I booked this hotel using a 3rd party site even though I am a Hilton Rewards member. My reason for doing so is that the Hilton points are very devalued now and I never got room updates as a Gold member. To say I was treated like a second class citizen at this hotel because I did not book through Hilton is an understatement. If you are a road warrior who has status with Hilton Rewards, you will be treated better and might have a 4 or 5 star opinion of the hotel. If you are not a status (Gold or Platinum) Hilton Rewards member ... you are treated like cattle here. I let the staff know that I was a rewards member with Hilton who was booking through a third party site and asked if I could add my rewards number to the reservation in case of any incidental charges (such as a $ small bag of chips from the 'market' ... etc.) and was told, "No. We don't even take your Hilton number if you booked using another site." The same applied to internet and upgrades. A very cold, "No. We cannot accommodate that. You can pay for the upgraded internet but that's all we can offer." Seriously ... anything I asked was stated in that rude tone. (What ever happened to not telling a guest 'no' ... I'd have much preferred to hear 'I am sorry. I wish I could do that but our system will not let me.' ... customer service 101.) The beds here are comfortable enough ... the rooms are nicely laid out and while they aren't fancy at all, the ones I stayed in were in nice shape. I had a couple issues with my room ... 1.) The people next door had sex twice during the night and it felt like an oil rig was pumping away against my wall. It woke me up from a sound sleep twice. 2.) There are LOTS of little glowing lights everywhere ... the alarm clock, the television, the fridge area, etc. In a dark room, these cast a weird green and red glow which is just bright enough to distract those who like a pitch black room to sleep in. Some of the things (alarm clock) could be unplugged. Others could not. 3.) The heating/ac unit is pretty loud and kicks on and off intermittently which can get distracting when watching tv or falling asleep. I am not talking about a little white noise sound ... I am talking about a major fan sound, followed by what sounds like an airplane propeller shutting down. Often, I would have to adjust the tv volume each time it went on or off and it was hard timing falling asleep. There was no way to keep a constant fan and if you shut off the system completely, it would get too cold. There is an indoor pool with hot tub AND and outdoor hot tub, which was the best feature of the hotel. There was someone in the indoor hot tub when I walked in ... which is every traveler's worst nightmare after a long day of meetings. To have to share a hot tub with a stranger. It was nice to have another one outside as well. The water was lukewarm in the hot tub, but it was nice and there was a little gas fireplace as well outside which was nice. You'll find a restaurant with a bar here ... and a sitting area or two in the lobby with a fireplace. The lobby was recently remodeled, so it looks newer than the rooms do. The shower was okay ... the water pressure was decent, although it was a step-in tub shower combo unit which is so 90's. The upper tiles on the showers were totally grody. It was clear they wiped down the lower part of the shower, but the upper part of the shower looked like the floor of Yankee Stadium after a game. Overall, if you are a Hilton member ... you'll enjoy your stay. It's basic but adequate for the business traveler or family. Hilton Garden Inn properties have a nice, homey feel. If you are not a Hilton member, you'll be treated as an annoyance and dismissed. Be ready for the 'steerage' treatment. As for the location ... it's nice. The wineries are about 15 - 30 minutes away because you have to drive through Riverhead and all it's lights. The hotel is right next to the Long Island Expressway/495 West entrance. One downside is that if you want to go to the Tanger Outlets, they are right across the street ... you can see them from the hotel. However, you have to loop around because you cannot cross the median in the road, so it's actually over a mile of driving to get there from the hotel. From the highway, you have to do a U-Turn to get to the hotel. read more

Had a great two day stay at this hotel. We wanted to stay a third day but the jacuzzi room was already booked. I even left my boots at the hotel and they even Fed-Ex my boots back. Tip make sure to call the Lost and Found during their business hours to get your items shipped or to arrange for pick up. The room was clean as well as the jacuzzi. There was an issue with the drapes and maintenance came and repaired the issue. Staff friendly and very helpful. Tangers Outlet Riverhead is across the street as well as other strip malls close by. Very relaxing stay at Hilton Garden Inn and will be back again. read more

The place is clean I'll give two starts for that but otherwise the hotel is cheap and for two nights it's crazy expensive there's no free breakfast. In the morning I needed a towel so I looked out my room and asked the housekeeping for a towel as they were cleaning another room. They said they didn't have one and gave me two rug towels.... They said they were doing laundry .. && which I felt the washer spinning and my bed shaking cuz the washer room was probably next door to my room. For 667$ for two nights is absolutely not worth it. This place is cheap cheap cheap. They never ever came to service the room during my stay. I highly recommend to stay at the other hotel across the street from the Hilton. I stayed here for almost 2 weeks for work. This hotel meets the Hilton standard in my opinion. Starting with the good, the front desk staff was as helpful as possible. Some were almost friends by the time I finally went home. For people who are here for work, the hotel has a nice conference room adjoining the lobby available to any guest at no charge unless reserved for an event. I spent a lot of time in there preparing for trial. The front desk staff was also very helpful in terms of providing directions/recommendations for various items needed for work, such as office supplies. The bar here is excellent because of its personnel. I spent some time at the bar after long days and on weekend nights. The bar manager Joe is an outgoing and friendly guy who made my stay in Riverhead more pleasant than it otherwise would have been. He provided restaurant advice/recommendations based on his personal knowledge of the local restaurant business. If I had been there on vacation, which I would love to be at some point in the future, I'm sure Joe would have provided recommendations on the best beaches and wineries. There were also some problems, including the terrible Long Island weather, which I don't count against the hotel. The room and housekeeping had some issues. The room was not well lighted. Even with all 4 lamps lit it was gloomy. This is annoying when you have to use the hotel room as an office. The room was clean enough, but there was someone else's hair (longer than any on my nearly bald head) on the bathroom floor for the first few days. The tub was installed with insufficient angle and has standing water. I was concerned that mosquitos might hatch there. Fortunately they did not, probably because it was so darned cold in LI while I was there. Before this room is leased to others, it needs obvious renovation to the bathroom. In fairness to the staff, I did not complain about it. I have a high tolerance for that kind of issue and just ignored it, but many guests will expect a tub to fully drain and this may not be the only room with this problem. When I come back to Eastern Long Island, I plan to stay at this hotel against despite the issues identified in my review. read more

I'm staying at the Riverhead New York hotel and its been awful. Drove 10 hours from New Hampshire to get here and had booked and paid for the room for two days at $811! Wow. No packing at all. Had to park at the next door hotel and walk back. However your hotel busses took up about 5 spots. Then at 1:00am the people in our hall were partying in the halls and playing loud music. We asked them to tone it down and it escalated into them telling us to relax it's their wedding day. Ok fine but I paid $400 / night for a good night's sleep. Call the front desk three times and it took 30 minutes to finally get security to get the situation under control. Spoke with the manager in the morning who offered a $75 credit for our troubles. Sorry a certain level of service is expected at the $400/night price point. Then today we went out and came back around 3:00 and the room was not cleaned. Called the front desk again and were informed that we needed to request cleaning?? Nobody ever told us this!!?? I can tell you the first thing that I was asked for was my credit card at check in for incidentals. The front desk said they will clean the room later, but just poor service. This stay was exceptionally poor and at this price point it was outrageous. For $99 a night it would have been expected. I do expect a response and a credit for this awful stay. read more

My family and I just completed a 2-night/3-day stay this past week. The purpose of our trip was to just get away as a family for a few days and explore a part of Long Island that we normally don't venture out to. Sure, we have been to Riverhead a couple of times to do some shopping at Tanger Outlet but we had never really explored anything else in the area nor had we ever gone any farther east. We checked in on Wednesday and out on Friday. First impression was that it was super-conveniently located to the Outlet. As a matter of fact, it's right across the street/highway and you can see the Outlet sign when you step out of the hotel. When we walked into the lobby, we notice how bright and attractive it was. Not chic or anything but it looked very modern and like it had been recently updated. The colors were attractive and everything looked very open and airy. There is coffee, water, and little cookie bars that you come across even before you make it to the check-in area. Being that I'm a Hilton Honors member and had checked in online and selected my desired room online, it was a breeze. I barely had to stop in and show ID before the lady behind the counter handed me 2 room keys and confirmed that my room had been setup with the extra down pillows I had requested when I made my booking online. Our room was attractive and well appointed. We had a King bed that was very comfy and loaded with at least 6 pillows, if not more. We also liked the nice Samsung flat screen TV in our room. The work desk was convenient and the extra chair/ottoman in the corner was nice as well. The complimentary internet connection was satisfactory. It wasn't the fastest but I got some surfing & emailing done without any issues. They did have a microwave and coffee maker but we didn't use them. The fridge came in handy as we stored some water in there. The bathroom was reasonably well-lit and generally clean. If I'm being honest, I'll say that grout/edges inside the standup shower could have been cleaned a little better as it looked like they were a bit dirty and mildewed. I suspect that the ladies who clean the room don't really get in there and inspect all that closely. Apart from that, however, the rest of our room and bathroom was in good condition. Another minor complaint was that the top couple of drawers of the dresser didn't want to stay closed and sometimes slid open. Not a huge deal but annoying, if anything. Also, the walls aren't super thick so you can sometimes hear noisy guests next door. Thankfully, they weren't noisy or bothersome when we went to sleep and we weren't in the room all that much so it worked out okay in the end. The pool/Jacuzzi area was something our son took advantage of enjoyed our fist evening there. The pool is not very deep or large but it gave him some enjoyment (and a little exercise). There is another Jacuzzi outdoors. I noticed it had temperature controls so I can see it being well used when the weather and water may be a little cooler than ideal. On that day, however, it was plenty warm out so we didn't need to worry about using the controls. There is also a small gym adjacent to the pool area but we didn't venture in. You can opt for breakfast for $11.95 per adult (a few bucks cheaper for kids 12 and under) and you can order omelets/eggs and pancakes or French toast. Also included are waffles you can make yourself, fruit, yogurt, sausage & bacon, homestyle potatoes, and a few different pastries. You can also get coffee and choose from a couple of juices to boot. The only downside to our experience was really just the breakfast the first morning. My order of French toast never reached me, even after our server came over twice and asked if someone had brought it out to us. After half an hour, I told him I couldn't wait any longer and just finished up the omelet and other items I got. I was disappointed but pleased that he tried to make it right by not charging us for it. I still left a generous tip because he seems disappointed for me and because he offered this gesture without me asking for any such concession. Apart from that, we all enjoyed the items we ordered. You won't consider the good to be gourmet or anything but it's not a terrible price for what all you can order/take and because you can order/take all you want. The last evening before we left, I asked for late checkout and they graciously gave me even more time than I expected. Overall, I would say that we had a very good experience & stay here and would not hesitate to return or recommend this property to others. read more

I've been in the customer service and hospitality industry for over 16 years so I take it very seriously whenever I stay at any establishment. If you're in hospitality I expect you to be welcoming and attentive no matter what the person you are assisting looks like.. that being said the Sunday crew consisting of Jenny and Bob were amazing! They made my boyfriend and I feel right at home. I would stay at the hotel again just for them. There was another gentleman there that was great but I didn't catch his name. That being said, the Monday crew was not up to par. There was an incident where we took a bottle of wine to the jacuzzi and instead of the front desk crew, that very clearly saw us with the bottle of wine in our hands and they knew we were going to the jacuzzi because we asked them where the towels were, could've told us, "hey, you can't have glass near the jacuzzi.. let me get you guys some plastic cups". Instead they called over another man named Donald who came up to us very rudely to let us know that we couldn't have the wine bottle with us in the jacuzzi.. Again, I work for hotels all over the country, had it been me, I would've brought out plastic cups to transfer the wine from the bottle to the cups.. easy fix. but no.. Donald made ME, the guest, get out of the jacuzzi, all wet so that I could get plastic cups in the hotel. That was very unprofessional. Especially after we spent a pretty penny at the hotel during our one night stay. I def feel that my boyfriend being covered in tattoos and piercings also had something to do with the way we were treated.. Had it been a "clean cut" looking person; I'm pretty sure Donald's tone would've been a little different. We had an amazing stay until this all happened.. and then the cherry on the cake was when we were leaving the hotel, we didn't even get a farewell or a thank you for staying at the hotel.. which is one of the most important things for the staff to do especially if you work the front desk.. I will make sure to stay at this hotel on the weekend if I do decide to stay here again. The weekday crew def needs training in hospitality and need to learn how not to judge a book by a cover. read more

Came to HGI during Columbus Day weekend, there was a triple points weekend stay promotion, that I took advantage. I recommend becoming a Hilton Honors member earn points and benefits while you pay for hotel stays. Hilton seems to be maintaining the standard, I would stay here again if I am in the area. Good: -The hotel and rooms are updated and have a fresh and airy look -Parking lot is free to park and has plenty of spots available -If you have status as a Hilton Honors member the breakfast is free -Government employee discounts are bigger than AAA discounts, and help out on the overall price which can be high -The hotel is directly across the street from Tanger Outlet if you want to shop -The front desk provided a comprehensive list of vineyards and restaurants in the nearby area, and even had suggestions -The fitness room was clean and had brand new machinery -There was a bridal party using what looked like a salon on the first floor Bad: -Not the hotel's fault but Riverhead seems to be a "one way in, one way out" kind of town, which makes traffic during a weekend festival tough to deal with. read more

Can't believe this place hasn't got a 5 star yet. This hotel was great. Amazing attention to detail and great hospitality. My friend held his wedding here and I recommend any NYC couples to keep this place on their list of possible places. It's sorta relaxing to see a hotel so well put together, so clean, and still within budget. (190$ for the night) The rooms were impeccable and they are spacey and come with a coffee machine, a clean shower, and beautiful windows. There lobby and there bar was simple. The bartender was an older man with great charm and made some great whisky sours. The ladies at the front desk were so sweet and funny. Even the cleaning ladies were sweet as I walked down the hallway. Seriously this place went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable and relaxed and I appreciate that a lot. Great location. Great property. The hotel is near a water park, the Tanger Outlets (it's huge), other retail stores, and plenty of food options. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The pantry is stocked with an awesome variety of snacks and drinks. The room was a little dated, but clean (most importantly). I wish they would upgrade their TV's to smart TV's! I only knocked off a star because of my check in experience. The associate did not tell me anything about the property and it felt like he just wanted to get me away from the desk. It might have been because I booked through a 3rd party, but regardless, a guest is a guest. I'd stay here again regardless! read more

Very!!!!!! rude staff. We wanted to try and stay one extra day, they actually allowed open bidding (over $500 per night.) when I questioned what was going on, he said it's going to who is willing to pay the most! Wild, the Hilton should be proud of this behavior. The very rude worker just handed me a card with his manager on it and said let him know if you don't like it, while his female co worker just kept her head down and was so embarrassed. It's not like we are talking about a nice hotel, it is a Hilton Garden, never seen a bidding war at the front desk at a National chain. If you have a choice the Holiday Inn Express across the road was much nicer, staff was amazing, price was much better, beds and rooms much better and it includes breakfast! We had to change room at check on night one due to the horrible smell of smoke and mildew. The front desk worker had a a great reply to our request, "Good thing you guys got here early, we are sold out and someone is going to get stuck with that room!" I plan on writing to Hilton Corporate, I travel a lot and have never experienced this kind of rudeness and unprofessional behavior. read more
