I have switched to this practice as I have an Alaskan Malamute who has become increasingly traumatized by our previous vet. Hillview allowed me to bring him in for a "Happy Visit" so that we could get acquainted. They were prepared with lots of hot dog chunks and cheese, which of course made my dog VERY happy. I feel very relieved that I have found a vet that will not just shove a muzzle on my dog and "get sh*t done". We had to call a lot of different veterinary clinics to find one that would treat rabbits. We needed a rabbit neutered and this clinic accommodated us very well. The service and care we received was better than good. The rabbit was discovered to have a respiratory infection and he was prescribed medications for his condition. However when it came time to treat our new pet, we were told, "We're not taking any new patients." We confirmed that even though we are an established customer we were being refused service. We will no longer be contacting this vet for any future needs. read more

They performed her spay (very reasonably priced), boarded her several times for up to 10 days and they perform her dental surgery every 6 weeks. I'm sure my bun thinks Vet Tech Emily is her second mom lol! I have had only positive interactions at each visit and phone call. I would never consider taking my bun anywhere else! read more

I have been taking my dog to Hillview Vet Clinic for almost 9 years now, and I have had nothing but positive experiences. He has DLE, a form of lupus, and I have received personalized care and one-on-one discussions with the veterinarians regarding the best options for him throughout the years for his diagnosis. They've also guided me to specialists for his condition, and so far, his condition is kept under control. The staff is also more than helpful and will go out of their way to accommodate you and your pet. They know my dog by name, and he loves coming in to say hi! They were also wonderful when my golden lab passed away in 2019, very comforting and sensitive to our needs. I rescued a Shepsky that is 10 months old and is a very active pup. I came here as a new patient and i was really impressed. When we first got taken back, the vet techs were super nice and took down all of the concerns I had, and when Dr.Clark came in she was very nice and informative of my concerns. My wife and I have taken both of our dogs to this vet and both times they told us our dogs were not socialized and dangerous! Our dogs are literally the most calm and cuddly dogs I've ever met. They then tried to sell us drugs to give the dogs before bringing them in. We fell for it the first time and when we gave our golden HALF the dose she was not able to get off the couch because she was so drugged up! Thats how they want them to come in because they are too lazy to do their job correctly. But all of that I could put behind me. What really pissed me out is how the technician and vet were loudly trash talking my wife while she could hear them in the other room! These are the worst kind of people and I do not recommend unless you want to be shamed because your dog doesn't love their obnoxious staff, want to be up charged, and trash talked behind your back! read more

I've been taking my dogs to Hillview for over 20 years - 3 different dogs. Dr Clark has always been so patient and gentle with my fur babies. My current rescue has soo many issues and they are great with him. Like everyone, they are dealing with some staffing shortages so I now need to call in my dogs prescription refills the day before instead of just walking in and it takes a bit longer to answer the phone but, it's nothing more than a minor inconvenience. read more

We had the most amazing experience at Hillview Veterinary Clinic today! We had a baby guinea pig who was born prematurely and, sadly, had to be put to sleep. The staff at Hillview was extraordinarily compassionate and so helpful to our family making the tough decision of helping the little guy on his way over the rainbow bridge. I have been looking for a vet for both my chihuahua and lionhead bunny. I FINALLY found one that sees bunnies as well as dogs at Hillview! The main thing I look for besides the obvious is that the vet not only knows what they're doing but that they genuinely care about my fur babies as much as I do. They definitely do here at Hillview! I was very pleased about the level of care my lionhead received! My chi has an appointment next month and I have no doubt that she will be cared for in the same manner. I have been a member of hillview vet clinic for a few years now. And I can honestly say my animals will never go anywhere else. The staff treats both my babies as their own family. I have one that is very shy and Dr. Shirley spent all the time in the world to get her more comfortable, and now she absolutely loves the vet. They are attentive with every request I have made (ridiculous or not). And truly provide the best service out there. Grooming, such as nail care is quick, even if your dog is squirming all over the place. Technicians are also very friendly and approachable, and are ready for action regarding your pets needs. 2. Emergency/medical care... Poor Happy Gilmore, my 3 year old dachshund had sprained a back muscle and frankly, I was a hot mess distraught with the possibility of losing my dog. No fear! Unfortunately this would not let me leave less than a one star rating! I will never ever take any animal back into this clinic! They put my Mastiff on a prescription dog food, then they refused to give her food unless I paid for a vet visit!? Really you would starve my dog because you didn't get a paid vet visit! I had another vet write a prescription and I've been getting it through Chewy for over two years without issues. This time I decided to give him another shot, why I don't know. I called maybe 15 minutes before they closed to try to get an appointment to get my dog in, she had an availability first thing in the morning. I lost my car keys and couldn't find them, I called right away. I get it that's my fault but that slot would not of been filled anyway and she still charge me the $30 before Daisy would ever be seen again. I get it that businesses need to make money, but I'll never trust these people again. I don't feel they cared about my Daisy at all, just dollar signs. We have used hillview for 20 years for our horses and other animals, today we were told there would be a $75 additional charge to get our sick dog a same day appointment. It seems they are embracing their country club name and putting money above the animals health. The good news is Whiteland Animal Clinic welcomed us , no additional charge, same day appointment, new customer. read more

She had a leg injury that needed time and patience to rehabilitate, and I took her there as my usual vet is closed due to the pandemic. I can't say enough nice things about Hillview. Their staff is not only very knowledgeable, they're also as nice as can be. I drive down to Franklin from Indy because I love the place that much. I could definitely find something closer to home but I know we wouldn't receive the same care and for such a great value. I've only ever had good experiences in the almost 11 years I've been taking my furbaby there. Most of the staff has been there as long as I've been going there which gives a level of comfort. I love Dr. Jennifer Clark, she helped walk me through the process when my cat had cancer and she made me feel like she fully understood what I was going through. I have had the chronically ill bunny that doctor Jennifer Clark took care of for the last four years. My bunny had a chronic ear infection since she was only 3 month old and some dental issues on top of that requiring regular testing , ear cleanings, dental procedures and medications . Since she was 2 years old she had developed head tilt and has been constantly taking numerous medications non stop. We have seen every exotic vet in the Indianapolis with little to no results . If I only have found Dr. Jennifer Clarke earlier , my bunny's head tilt could've been prevented. Dr. Clarke is the first one who has gotten the infection under control. She is the only vet I found who I never had to question and double check prescriptions, the only one I fully trust. Dr. Clarke is an angel I found that I can trust with all my heart that truly cares about the animals. I was even able to go on vacation for two weeks for the first time since my bunny had a head tilt and leave her with the knowledgeable staff of Hillveiw Veterinary Clinic. I was able to call to check up on her and she did really well there while I was away. Emily took a great care of my baby and gave her all of the medications required. The only practice that loves every creature and treats them with love , care and respect whether it is dog, horse or a hamster. Everybody there including the receptionists and technicians have always been so caring and helpful. They will never make you wait in cases of emergency. Their doctors and technicians always call you back if they are unable to talk to you right away. Truly the best doctor I've seen and like I've mentioned I've been to every rabbit savvy vet and everybody who think they are one in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. Dr. Clarke was all the way with us until my bunny's final seconds. Thanks to her, my bunny almost made it to six despite all the health issues . She has recommended the most beautiful final resting place for my bunny & her office even made a donation to plant the tree in my bunny's memory . I'm taking my new baby there within a few weeks. The only vet I will take my pets to. It is well worth the drive to receive the one of a kind care that you can only get there. read more

They were very accommodating to squeeze in our sugar glider Piper on a Saturday morning appointment. She had and abscess on her cheek that needed to be sedated, lanced, drained, and cleaned plus sent home with an antibiotic. All under $100.00! Very nice and reasonably priced! Will be using them for future business! read more

Dr John Clark is the best equine vet in the area. He is intelligent, compassionate and doesnt base his practice on making money. Unlike vets, he doesnt try to upsell unneeded procedures and his day doesnt end until the calls are finished. I cant say enough good things about him. read more

This veterinary clinic is awesome! I took my cat here for a urinary tract infection and they helped me out so much! They gave him antibiotics, anti inflammatory and some pain medication and we're not completely done with the antibiotics but he is running around and playing like normal and I can just tell the difference! Not to mention, the prices are not bad at all! Another vet clinic wanted to charge me $30 more to do what they did and that didn't include the medications! So I recommend this clinic for your fur babies! Will definitely be bringing the rest of my babies in for anything else they may need! read more

I took my son's turtle because my dog got a hold of him out of his aquarium and cracked it shell unfortunately the vet saw the turtle was and told us it was not likely to survive in front of my son who is 10. This devastated him for several days. Not only that I stayed up all night working on my business and I had to deal with the turtle issue. Needless to say I was extremely exhausted and had to close my eyes when I had the chance in the waiting room. Well after paying for the treatment of the turtle who was not likely to survive I was meet outside by the Franklin police. I assume they told them I was on drugs. I am a very responsible person who owns my own successful business. I will not be returning to that vet. The people there are not sympathetic whatsoever. The police officer however was very kind and understanding. I comend the Franklin police dept for thier professionalism. I do not recommend using that vet. You will be treated with disrespect. I have never been treated by a place of buainess like this one. read more
