A 5* review for a home contractor? Surely not - a category of business infamous for aggravation…read moreand complaint. All the more reason to laud an exception. And each of our interactions with Bennett over maybe 3 weeks were exemplary. We had a few small exterior siding and repair jobs - nothing major, just at the point where it wasn't worth me buying a 20' ladder. Initial call: they noted that this was in their 'handyman' category, and it would be a couple of weeks before they had a slot. A rep called as promised, exceptionally courteous, and fixed an appointment time that met our schedule. Their repairman showed up promptly to the minute, cheerful and competent; made sure to get a list of each thing needed and went to work. When we walked through an hour later, every detail was perfect and some were well above the request - for instance a fascia piece between garage doors was not only back in place but silicone-caulked, looked better than new. Pricing was clear and upfront. Left us with a hugely positive impression - kudos, guys. They've been around for a long time, and I am astonished that I get to be their first review - if you have home repair/contracting jobs, give them a call.

Encountered a section of hidden water damage which was smoothly repaired and buttoned up. Daniele Barcaglia and Justin Burton worked daily in absolute miserable weather, snowy, raining and windy cold but continued to focus on our deck with unhurried care and conscientiousness, making sure that each cut and placement of materials was spot on. The final result was just superb and we could not be more pleased with the quality of work and with the friendly and hard-working gentleman on this job. We think highly of Bennett because of their exceptional work.

I posted another review about Josh's fantastic service for my boiler several months ago. When my…read moremini-splits stopped blowing cold air, I knew Josh would be the one to call. He fit me into his packed schedule (of course the units picked the first hot spell of the season to act up), diagnosed a refrigerant leak, and set about fixing it. If you're not familiar with mini-split systems, the difference between them and central air is that where central air cools air at the condenser unit then circulates it through your house, mini-splits circulate refrigerant, cooling the air at various "head units" throughout the house. The advantage is that mini-splits are easier and faster to retrofit into old buildings. The disadvantage is that there are many more places for a refrigerant leak to hide. Josh filled the system with UV dye and came back late in the evening to check for leaks. He found a couple of egregiously loose fittings---a sure sign of shoddy installation by the other company that had installed the system. At this point, he suspected there were probably loose fittings elsewhere. He's keenly aware of how expensive refrigerant is, and how bad it is for the environment when it leaks. With that in mind, along with the fact that the heat spell had broken, he suggested we hold off on refilling the system until he could come back and do a full system walkthrough. When he came back, he pressurized the system to its max with Nitrogen, so he could check for leaks without wasting refrigerant. It just so happened to be the hottest day of the year (so far), but that just made him more determined to get the system running for us. He worked thoroughly but quickly and got our system running better than I think it ever has. I'm profoundly grateful for his hard work and dedication. I cannot recommend him highly enough for any HVAC work you need done.

I called Dave after doing a search on Google. He came immediately to scope out the problem. He gave me a very reasonable quote which was better than a couple of drywall specialists I called. A friend whose brother is a contractor spoke to her brother who confirmed Dave's price was extremely reasonable for the Albany/Capital region and I should jump on it. Dave finished the job professionally and the ceiling now looks like no repair was needed. He fixed the ceiling drywall seamlessly and very smoothly, and then painted it. I paid him the price we agreed to. A couple of weeks later he came for a plumbing issue and met the tenants while I was at work. A new garbage disposal was needed to fix the problem. I picked one up at Lowe's Fri night and Dave came Sat morning to install it. No plumber needed. He also repaired a loose front doorknob while he was here. He can do a wide range of things. I would recommend him without hesitation. He definitely deserves 5 stars, if not more.

Rob was a perfect fit for the project being a solo-craftsman where he had ultimate control of quality; no subs to chase around and no need communicate the scope and details through multiple parties. Rob being a solo contractor was certainly not limiting either; the project had a mix of structural floor framing, new and replacement windows, exterior door and trim modifications, and many interior finish details to execute. I can't emphasize craftsman enough. He knows how to achieve high quality results with his process. He has solutions and tricks-of-the-trade for any issues and 'head scratchers' we had along the way. On top of this he is a pleasure to work with and made the project seem easy! Thank you Rob!
