Dr Kennedy is an amazing vet. He's caring and very knowledgeable. I have been taking my animals to him for over 30 years. No one around even comes close. I can't tell you if he's cheap or expensive. When it comes to my dogs I don't look at those things . I see a man that's very good at his job and I completely trust him. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I 100% would. Took my dog for their checkup, and a couple hours after his shots he starts bleeding constantly out of his bottom. What are the odds that he's fine any other time and then after his shots this happens? Kept calling but never got a call back. Don't take your pets to this place if you don't want to deal with bad service back. read more

I had to rate this business a 3 star because of the staff he has working there. the women at the front desk are unorganized and extremely unfriendly. he needs to consider hiring fresh smiling new faces instead of women that look like their burned out and only there for a paycheck. read more

DISGUSTING environment for a clinic meant to be treating animals that are already ill; his services are cheap for a reason and if I could give negative stars I would. There is a clinic cat that is allowed to free roam and even jump up on the exam table during appointments; it clearly stressed out our pet and made an already stressful appointment much more so. The door to the exam room was left open, so we saw the appointment prior to ours and noticed that Dr. Kennedy did not clean the exam table or his hands at all in between treating patients; he had dirt caked under his nails and a very dirty bandage wrapped around his thumb that was slightly falling off. Our pet had severe eye irritation we needed to get checked out and he used his bandaged thumb to pull open her eye and the bandage kept directly touching her eye, which really upset us because it was filthy and obviously could make her infection worse. His handling of our pet (who is very elderly) was rough and nothing like the other vets we have used in the past. We will NOT be taking her back after seeing how little regard for cleanliness and gentle handling Dr. Kennedy takes in his practice. read more

Dr Kennedy has taken care of my dogs both pets and Rescue for 20 years . I trust his knowledge and expertise . He is a true Country Vet sees animals Great and Small . But he also is Savvy enough to know what your little City dog needs . He has done multiple successful surgeries on my animals , diagnose a heart condition in a puppy and referred me to Purdue for further treatment . I kept that sweet baby alive for 9 years Against All Odds . Please excuse typos and capitalization I am disabled and use a voice typing system that is not very user friendly . The vet knows what he's doing. Did a good job with removing the tumor off my dog's butt. The issue I have with Dr. Kennedy is that he's just so dry and has absolutely no sympathy for his patients whatsoever. He broke the news to me that we had to put my dog down and he didn't apologize or anything as I was bawling in his office. My pet to him is just another paycheck... only stuck with this vet bc my mother took him and it's closer. Definitely not coming back once my dog passes. this wonderful vet, Dr Kennedy immediately realized our female dog had bladder stones. surgery was done and rehab was short. she's doing great. then when our "Jumper' male dog hurt his neck, Dr KENNEDY referred us to to Metropolitan vet emergency services in Louisville, where a successful ventral slot surgery was performed. Dr. Kennedy knew exactly what was needed. he's an exceptional vet and we hold him in highest esteem. read more

I've learned there is nothing more cool or more convenient than that of a country vet!! I just recently moved to Southern Indiana from the west coast and I've only been a dog owner for about 2 years, so my experience with vets is very limited, however I can say that Hilltop has been the most accommodating, friendly veterinarian I have ever been to. Upon moving here, I knew I wanted to get my dog on some flea and tick treatment ASAP. I had called around to several in the area to see if I could just pick up the medicine without having to make an appoint, which was completely unnecessarily. Hilltop was the only one that would accommodate me. I was able to run in, get my meds and get out. Boom! More recently, I took my dog in for a check up and his needed vaccinations. The vet was incredibly friendly and good with my girl. She wasn't nervous at all and had absolutely no idea she received any shots at all. Had I not seen the needle go in, I wouldn't have either. The vet also gave her a shot for her newly discovered scratching and informed me most dogs get allergies around here. The scratching stopped immediately and has yet to return. The Dr. Kennedy gave my pups only the needed vaccinations and giggled at the ones that I was supposed to get and giggled even louder when he saw my west coast vet bill!! While saying goodbye he told me to stop in anytime and pick up the meds she needs or get another allergy shot. CONVENIENCE FACTOR = 5 Stars!! Overall, this was a perfect experience for both me and my dog. I won't go anywhere else!!! We've found our home! read more

I love Hilltop Veterinary Services!! Dr. Kennedy and his staff are the most compassionate, caring animal lovers with whom I have ever dealt. He was the only vet we used from the time we got our dogs when they were babies. He watched them grow up and knew just what to do for each stage of their lives. When two of our shih-tzus developed a congenital heart condition, he knew exactly what to do for them so they could live comfortably with us. I am confident without his exceptional and loving care we would not have had them as long as we did. When we would go on vacation or had to leave town, Dr. Kennedy boarded our four babies in a closed-off examining room along with their toys and blankets. They even got the run of the clinic when the office wasn't busy. I don't know how many other vets do things like that but you can't imagine how much we appreciated it. We now live in Texas with our two remaining shih-tzus and while we have found a good veterinarian, we still miss Dr. Kennedy and his staff!! We still get their Trifexis refilled through him as he and his staff are kind enough to mail it to us. After our local veterinarian declined to perform a recommended surgery for bladder stone removal on our 3 yr old Papillon, we sought care from Dr. Kennedy. We had used his services over the years for other animals that our routine vet could not/would not treat and had always been satisfied. This time, both he and his staff were rude from the beginning and acted like they wanted us to know they were doing us a favor. Post operatively when we picked up our dog (the same day of surgery) he was covered in vomit, blood, his excrement, and fur from some other animal! When we asked the receptionist that brought him out for something to clean him with, she sprayed a paper towel with cleaning fluid and handed it to me, right in the waiting room. I had to get wipes from my car and spend approx. 20 minutes cleaning him up enough just to feel like his incision was not exposed to filth. It took another hour to clean him up completely after we got home! We got absolutely no after care instructions other than "he might have bloody pee for a few days". We were also told we could bathe the dog, which is definitely something NOT to do after surgery. We asked to speak to Dr. Kennedy, and were told that he was too busy to talk to us! All through the evening/night, he urinated blood every 2-3 minutes. Fortunately, we were able to get him into another vet the next morning and got established with a clinic that we feel will be able and willing to take care of our pets in the future. He already had signs of infection and was placed on a second antibiotic. I wish I could give Hilltop Veterinary Services a negative star.....or two!!! read more
