We are definitely going to plan the Sunday 2 hr lakeside ride. There are ponies for children. And helmets for anyone under 18 must be worn. Can't wait to go back!!! read more

A few of us wanted to take advantage of the riding stables on Post so I called on a Tuesday, not realizing that they were closed on that day. Annika was kind enough to give me a callback the next day on Wednesday and left a voicemail as I was teaching a 90-minute class on the AN/PRC-152 Falcon III. During our lunch break, I called them back and spoke with John who was super helpful, accommodating and quite funny. I scheduled a day and time for that Sunday. On the day of our scheduled ride, we arrived about 15-minutes early to check-in and the ladies were very pleasant and extremely hospitable. They got us mounted atop our steeds without any difficulty, showed us a few movements with the reins to maneuver the horses and had us demonstrate it for them; all while inspiring a splash of confidence with our very limited equestrian experience. On our way home, and as an early birthday present, my sweetie and I popped in for a ride. From the get go, this was an excellent idea. As you drive up, you can see the well cared for and healthy horses. The facilities are obviously keeping both riders and horses in mind. Plenty of shade, quality saddles and equipment, helmets, safety fences, steps to assist riders onto horses etc. all leave a very positive impression. Their schedule is posted on their website, offering a number of rides throughout the week/weekends. Prices vary and are exceptionally reasonable. They even offer private riding lessons and rides for people with disabilities. They had a variety of mounts, including little ponies for children. The ride scheduler in the office was absolutely a gem! Very friendly and professional. I believe her name was Ms Mallory. She happened to have her young son with her there who ended up joining us for a ride. Checking in was a breeze. She quickly paired us up with our horses. The office and waiting areas are very clean and welcoming. We went on a Sunday afternoon for a 1.5 hour ride. The woods and scenery were beautiful, and the trail was well-maintained and very easy on the horses and riders. Our young guide was nice. He did seem a little impatient with one of our less experienced riders who couldn't seem to prevent her horse from eating grass on the trail. I have done a lot of trail rides like this before. Impossible to make appointment, person on phone was snobbish and treated us like we were horse dumb. The trail ride is walking only, if this was a five star experience they would have had rides for experienced folks, most of us will not like paying to just sit in a saddle being led by a guide. Then at the end of her whole spill she informed me with a smart tone that they didnt have any spots open for today. Should have led with that lady. read more

Love taking the grandbabies to ride the horses. This time our pony did not want to walk and was acting stubborn I think he actually bit my wife but nothing major. Other than that we had a great time. read more

The experience was fun. My son(9) and I went for a 1hr ride ($82). Pricing is good. The ride was relaxing. My son really enjoyed the experience, for that alone I give them 4 stars. Customer service was pleasant. Instructions were thorough. The guide was attentive to all of us- maybe 10 in the group. She stopped to make sure we were okay- every so often throughout the ride. I didn't realize riding a horse is a workout, the next day my upper and lower body was a little sore- nothing major- but enough to notice. read more

I am so glad I decided to try them out. After calling several places, they were the most affordable. $45 for one hour trail ride and less if you have military ID. The place is gorgeous! The staff were so helpful and friendly. My daughter was riding for the first time, she is 12 and they made sure she felt comfortable enough to go on her own. I can't wait Togo back, you will see plenty of wildlife on the trails. read more

I came here with my husband on Sunday before I had to fly home. They had a 9, 10:30 and 12:00 hour trail tour so we signed up for the noon tour. My horse was Robin, who was a dream and my hub's horse, Rocky, was a character. After mounting and getting a quick review on commands (yes you get to make the noise like John Wayne when you want the horse to go) we were off. 5 mins into the tour, we saw a herd of deer which was really cool. The guide (can't remember his name, sorry!) was awesome because he would stop to make sure we saw what he saw AND to make sure he didn't leave anyone behind. Speaking of behinds...please be prepared. Unless you are use to riding horses (I'm not), 30 mins into the tour, your bum will start to feel uncomfortable. I tried shifting around a bit but that really doesn't help, lol. It was totally worth it though because you see some really cool things and for 60 mins I pretended I was a cowboy (well cowgirl). All I need was a 10 gallon hat. They have all sorts of programs too for your little ones during the summer and whenever else school is out. read more

The facility is nice. Large pastures. They dust the stall areas with a leaf blower so the lockers tend to get really dusty. If you board here don't ask questions and don't complain or ask for anything. Dictatorship atmosphere. Horses were brought in at 12 noon the day prior to a storm and although their standard operating procedures state they clean the surface of the horse's box (quick pick) every day, my box went untouched as well as another boarders box. The hay is locked up so when you get off work and want your horse in the box that night he'll go without hay. Prior employee told me employees are told not to chat with boarders but find out what they need and get them out. No bathroom accessibility after 4 pm or closed days, even though they are there. The gov horses walk around with bits in their mouths waiting for riders to come and one stepped on his reign and really hurt his mouth yet they still allow that. The horses stand in the summer humid heat with heavy western saddles on all day waiting for riders. A prior boarder had a colic horse who got beet pulp with her feed and although they agreed to feed her this with her regular feed, they forgot three different times and chuckled it off. This boarder also noticed an employees horse who, in summer, had his fly mask come off and was hanging over his moth prohibiting him from drinking water. This boarder removed the mask so the horse could drink and when the manager found out she chastised the boarder for touching a horse who didn't belong to her. They also say they check the horses over when they come in to eat to make sure they're not injured and not only was my horse cut up from another horse, one had a swollen leg and the owner wasn't notified. Too many issues there and director is as sneaky as management. read more
