Honestly, this has been such a statement on healthcare in small towns. It almost feels like because…read morethe options are limited you get treated like you have no other options. What a series of bad experiences. I've been a patient for a little while now and I've had consistently poorer experiences each time. Scheduling is hard and very often I can't do it on my schedule. I have to work on theirs. Next, I've had prescriptions canceled that I tried to fill with my pharmacy that were cheaper for the longer term and that really can't be abused. They were prescriptions for chronic issues I've had and will continue to have for the rest of my life. I was told these prescriptions were meant for short-term use only, even though I've had consistent prescriptions for them for most of my life. Then when the provider I was seeing was way too busy to be convenient for me anymore I requested to switch to another provider and was told I wasn't allowed. So they treat you like they're your health coverage overlord or something. It's my healthcare and it's my choice. I AM allowed to switch providers at will based on my insurance and if this is your policy it's bad business and even poorer healthcare. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

My newborn had not had a bowel movement in about 5 days and I had grown worried. I called on Monday…read more(7/18) and left a message on the nurse's line explaining the purpose of my call, my son's information and a call back number. I called back at 8am the next morning (7/19). Karen answered the phone and I explained to her what was going on. She set an appointment for 3:20pm but told me to come in a little earlier if I could because the Dr. was leaving early. We saw Samantha Gore, who is the Dr. Sullivan's assistant. I explained to her my concerns. She didn't have much advice to offer. Granted, I know my son is a newborn and there isn't really much he can given to relieve his constipation but I knew there was a solution. (My mom is an RN and she advised me to insert an anal thermometer in his anus and that would help him have a bowel movement). I told her what my mom suggested and she then said, "yes, that could work". I told her I wasn't comfortable doing it myself and asked if she could at least show me how to do it/how far to stick it in. She acted like she didn't want to do it. I grew a little frustrated and I let her know that me coming to the office was a waste of time because the information I was receiving from her was something that could've been said over the phone. I came to the office to get results. She then agreed to try it. She said she didn't think they had an anal thermometer but she'd go check. I then suggested using a q-tip with Vaseline as lubrication. Every Dr.'s office should have q-tips, right?! So she then looked for a q-tip and said she doesn't think they have Vaseline. She found a packet of lubrication I'm the cupboard. I then removed my son's diaper. WITHOUT using any gloves, she touches my son's butt cheeks and spreaded them apart and inserted the q-tip. It was obvious there was poop waiting to come out because the q-tip was covered. After she was done, she discarded the q-tip and sat back down to her laptop. Didn't wash her hands or anything. Previously working in the law enforcement field, I'm very observant. I sat and watched her touch her face, tuck her hair behind her ear, touch the keypad on the laptop and also use her pointer finger and thumb as a brace to hold her chin up while she was reading instructions from the laptop. I couldn't help but think about how unsanitary that was and how many other patients she had seen that day and did the same thing without practicing hand washing to prevent the spread of germs. She was reading off the computer what to tell me as far as relief for my son. She said the only thing it says for a child his age is just to try 2 ounces of fruit juice mixed with his breast milk. One thing she read off that gave me some relief was that breastfed babies are more prone to get constipated than a formula fed baby because of the lack of fiber. Because I wasn't completely satisfied with her read recommendations, I said, "no offense to you but can I please speak with the Dr? Maybe she's a little more experienced with constipated newborns and could offer a little advice". I could tell she got offended and she said, " I'll see if she's still here. You should probably meet her anyway" and then she left. Several minutes had passed and I went to the restroom. As I was coming out, I saw a lady walking down the hall. Because I had never met Dr. Sullivan before, I had no clue who she was. As I was walking into the room she said, "I'm Dr. Sullivan (no handshake or anything). Samantha told me what she told you and there is nothing I disagree with. I am not going say anything different from what she told you". If you ask me, I'd say she had an attitude from me telling her PA I wanted to see the Dr. Her bedside manner wasn't pleasant. She didn't make me feel comfortable at all. I advised her that the information I'm getting could've very easily been transmitted over the phone without me having to come to the office and my insurance being charged. She could tell I was upset and that's when she began to loosen up and offer other ways to help alleviate constipation (which were totally different from what her assistant read off from her computer). She then said if things weren't better by Friday to contact them for an xray and then if he still hadn't gone by Monday to call them and that they would start him on a laxative. She told me I could use infant glycerine suppositories on him in addition to the fruit juice. Had I not requested to see the Dr., I wouldn't have been somewhat satisfied. I would've left there without some sort of resolution or plan. I'm giving them 1 star based on my last visit. I am also changing my son's PCP to an actual pediatrician. I will not bring my son back and wouldn't recommend anyone else does either.

Extremely poor customer service! This is a sad story…read morebecause I really like our primary care NP, Carolyn Noyes. I hoping my requests to her weren't ignored, rather it was the staff that diverted the message. We were trying to get my wife to be a new patient with Carolyn. After several calls and a date approximately 3 months from now, she was growing low on medications. I contacted Carolyn's nursing assistant directly. I explained the circumstances and she said she would put an alert on her file so the schedulers would call her when there was a cancellation. Weeks went by and no call and it was a desperate situation. I called the office again and asked for the assistant, who was unavailable. I asked the receptionist if my wife showed an "Alert" for a cancellation with Carolyn or any other doctor. She explained that there wasn't an Alert system and that there was only a note in her chart which is not seen by the schedulers. She said that we needed to call in daily to check for cancellations. I asked her to leave a message for Carolyn in order to see if this situation could get corrected. Crickets!! Nothing! By now we have moved to another provider and I get a call from the "Group". I told them we would not be coming back and to cancel all further appointments for both my wife and myself. 1. I question that the persons I spoke with had authority to cancel an appointment from anyone other than myself. 2. There wasn't any questions as to why we were leaving. It appears they are so busy that loosing two clients is not of any concern. Extremely poor customer service and support.

I am a 68 year old senior citizen in Seguin Tx. Around 2-12-2026 I received a robocall wanting to…read morereschedule an appointment said call our office. After 4 failed calls to answer the phone and failure to Return my voicemail. I was driving by 5 days later on 2-17 and decided to go in person to resolve my appointment at 4:55pm. I believe they close at 7 pm. When I went in the waiting Room, there was a sole receptionist in the building and the waiting room was empty. 3 patients were following in the parking lot. We will call the receptionist M for her name. She asked if I had an appointment. No. I'm Here to resolve my appointment. She told me to step aside, that she needed to check in the patients who had appointments first. . No problem. After 3 people were checked in and one had an appointment rescheduled while checking in, M then turned to me and said you need to call and leave a voicemail. I responded, I had several days ago. M then said I didn't leave a return number or name. I responded I did. M then said on the voicemail I said no body answers the phone. She was exactly right. How did she know it was me if I didn't leave return information. M replied in an aggressive behavior. Have a seat, it's going to be a While in a very aggressive sarcastic tone while 3 patients were seated listening. I replied, maybe I should seek another doctor after compiling to all her requests. M laughed and replied Good, have a nice day, bye. I then asked for M for her name and said I was going to report her behavior. It came down to, I didn't have an appointment, and if she was going to reschedule me, she was going to punish me and make me wait a 4th time. As I walked towards the door, she replied in a hostile voice bye have a good day at least 7 times in a row, while laughing and waving her hand high in the air. I turned halfway to the door and said you don't have to be sarcastic. She continued until I exited the building in front of 3 patients. As the door closed, she was still hollaring, bye and waving, have a nice day. I immediately called the office number and left an urgent message to Human Resources. They responded 2 days later. But the next morning I went down there and reported the violence that occurred on 2-17. Long story short, I was directed to talk to GRMC risk and legal affairs. This was a ploy to turn everything I was reporting around and make me look like the aggressive person. We will call her L. She made me wait so she can leave her office at the hospital to tend to her daughters flat tire. We agreed that she would call me when she was returning from this urgent matter that was more important than addressing this disturbing matter. When she arrived and found I was waiting in the waiting room after checking in with receptionist we will call the receptionist G. When I gave L my testimony 2 times, L kept having me repeat to try and trip me up. She cared less of this nasty verbal conduct that was bestowed on me from M. L then started fabricated lies not relevant to the complaint, saying while I was in the waiting room I was demanding to be seen now. I eventually ended this complaint I was trying to submit and walked out. L's only mission was a ploy to make me look like a hostile person and try to upset me. When walking out she responded, knowingly I was not happy with this verbal experience., bye, have a nice day just as M did in front of a volunteer worker, we will call D. UNBELIEVABLE. I then walked straight up to the receptionist G in the main hospital, and told G , that L said, quote I demanded to be seen now. G was in shock and responded, I did not in front of L. L immediately said that this is irrelevant to this matter in response to G's surprised look. But this lie was relevant in L's office. L did not deny this comment. I then called the Chief Medical Director and that was another waste of time. His reply was, M would be talked to. End of story. They have more or less told me to suck it up. GRMC puts their staff over Senior Citizens complaints. I still have not gotten my appointment rescheduled. This act of violence and try to lure me into a verbal altercation in the GRMG is acceptable to the staff and throws senior citizens under the bus. When filing a complaint, their ploy is to discredit everything you say.
