Do not trust this practice nor their lead doctor. They will promise one thing and do the exact opposite. When Dr. S. alarmed me with his intended scope of facial surgery, I got really worried. I was afraid the scars would be glaring and permanent. He courteously offered a full refund. Instead of taking the money and running away as I should have, I convinced myself that he was not going to make a mistake and that I should just have some trust. I did not forget, however, that he had offered me a full refund in spite of his paperwork to the contrary. As the date of surgery got closer and his staff detailed the exact location and extent of the incisions, I knew it was way too extreme and cancelled the surgery. It was a full 7 days ahead of time. Knowing that he had the authority to grant a refund, I requested it. He denied being able to offer any refund and referred me to "Accounting" since he "does not own the practice"! Truthfully, I did anticipate that some fees would probably be retained. I expected a few thousand dollars as a penalty and hoped for the remaining $14k to be returned. After much wrangling, and putting the charge in dispute with my card, I received $10k back.. Even then, after processing my refund, they snuck back onto my card and stole another $750, which I am again fighting. This experience with Hillcrest Plastic Surgery has been a nightmare. Dr. Kenrick Spence did my lips and WOW!! The man is a wizard with the lip filler. He took the time to sit and listen to what I wanted. I never felt rushed during my appointment nor did I feel like they pushed unnecessary procedures on me. I've never sat in the lobby for more than 2 minutes and they have never been late or behind for my appointment. The facility is very clean. Everyone at the front desk is kind and professional. Surgery scheduled by Doctor for following week since another patient had cancelled. Four pre op days of red flags- I finally cancelled 48 hrs in advance of scheduled surgery. He is not only an amazing plastic surgeon, but a genuinely caring human being who takes the time to get to know his patients and listen to their concerns. When I came to his office it was to see about options for fixing a botched procedure I had done a few years ago at another practice. Dr Spence listened to my concerns and took the time to explain several courses of action and the pros and cons for each. I had an absolutely amazing experience at Dr. Spence's office. He has an absolutely amazing staff, whom are very kind, pleasant, and fun. I had a keloid on my left ear that made me incredibly self conscious about having my hair up. After the excision and going through the healing process my self confidence came back. Just wanted to share my experience with wendy( who is also known as goes by Jackie,Karen,elizabeh etc... very sad because they each play a role and u never know who you are going to get until she walks into the office, She treats staff terribly and seems to get away with her mentally abusive ways that why staff is a revolving door, You see her smile and laugh loud but it's all a contagious lie in order to collect ur deposit for surgery but let the truth be known if she don't make her sales the employees are most likely to be responsible and you will be attacked mentally , so if you already suffer from panic attack and depression stay away from her because that will be your new diagnosis working with her, if you did something to mess up, what she constantly uses as a word algorithm you will be mentally drained by her passive aggressive habits, as an employee we should be treated equally as a human and we should not have to take such abuse because you are afraid to lose your job we as employees deserve to be treated with respect, instead of being in office as a manager at normal business hours she will be watching you from her house and call everyone to start there day by letting them know you are being watched that is so unsettling and disturbing almost what is called a peeping Tom. Regardless of how hard you work and how good it's not enough to keep you from being a target it's almost like she loves the authority of yelling at people and belittling them it's almost like it's a disease and something she gets a thrill from she can switch personality quicker then you can blink your eyes, I've seen with my own eyes how she has even to her lowest point try to attack and employee and she still has power of office manager, I may not be perfect and know my imperfections but to have to feel like you are walking in hot stones and always feeling fearful for your job is a reminder to me of when I lived as a child in a mentally abusing home as an adult you should be able to feel free and treated with respect and dignity it's sad how greedy person can destroy a lot of peoples life and still go home and be able to sleep less then 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with kidney disease stage 3 that gave her the ammo to let me go. I'm not angry anymore my health is first but people like Wendy Spence should not be allowed working with people you are not a kind human beings. I love to laugh and sing loved working there with Dr Spence and Dr Ovalle met amazing patients,be humble treat ur employees with respect and how you want to be treated don't look at your employees like there to dig dirt looking for gold for you.money comes and goes but don't abuse your power. Honestly when I first went I loved the staff, but I wanted to do a full mommy make over and my doctor refused to do it. He said it was dangerous and since I hadn't done plastic surgery before I was scared and trust him. Well he botched me. I not have a butt that looks like a peach... or even a heart if you will. Big and round up too and coming flat to a pint at the bottom. I had a flat butt when I came to see him. He said all I needed was a little up top to even me out well now I look awful. I get called names and made fun of. I'm embarrassed to go out in public with my butt. I paid for a BBL. there should have been no reason for me not to have came out of there looking like what I paid. It's very sad that I now have to live my life this way. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Hillcrest Dermatology & Plastic Surgery. My experience began with Jackee, who was incredible, thorough and walked me through the initial booking, payments, etc. She was easy to reach and communicated with me the entire way. I went to see Dr. Michael McClure to inquire about a breast reduction. I also had one breast that was an entire cup size larger than the other. He was patient, went over the good, the bad and was truthful when it came to discussing the things he could not predict. I was appreciative of this because I was able to make a decision with all of the facts. Dr. McClure was patient, he did not rush me, it felt like a consult from a man who truly cared about my procedure. I could not find a lot of reviews and info about him but I would like to change this because he has exceeded my expectations. My surgery was on December 28th and I had a bilateral breast reduction. He told me he was not certain he could get the breasts to be the same size but he would try. Six weeks later, my breasts are healing perfectly and to my surprise, they are pretty close in size. It is quite an amazing feeling. I have no neck pain, they look beautiful and I could not be more pleased. Throughout the process I also worked with Beverly. She was my life line. Before the surgery, she gave me checklists of what to buy, what to eat prior to surgery, etc. I felt very prepared due to this information she provided me with. After surgery, I called her at least once a week to "make sure this was normal". She was a phone call away and was like a mama bear letting me know "it was normal" and little things I could do to help with the after effects of surgery. I am now six weeks in after my surgery and I feel a little emotional writing this. This surgery was something I have wanted, I have needed for over a decade and this team has been amazing throughout the process. I would recommend Dr. McClure & his team to anyone looking for a recommendation. I could not be more satisfied with the results and more thankful for this experience. read more

There's something off about this place. Very disingenuous staff with their noses in the air and condescending to their patients as they speak (not just me, I could hear the conversations going on around me). I was a patient here for over a year and when I recently called for a follow up, I was told I would be called back. After three attempts the receptionist finally transferred me to someone to make an appointment only to be told by this person (in an all too patronizing tone) that the practice "is going in a different direction" and they would no longer see me. Not that my insurance was no longer taken, not that my doctor was no longer there, but that they would no longer see me, ending the conversation with the oh-so fake "have a blessed day" phrase used by too many of the insincere today. So odd. This town is lousy with dermatologists, so it's not a big deal, but I should have known from my first visit that they were too snooty and I shouldn't have returned, my mistake; but once a doctor begins treating you it just seems easier to continue treatment with them. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Horrible experience here! Please do not make the same mistake I did! I went in to have a 'mommy makeover' which included a breast augmentation and a tummy tuck. At 28 years old I wasn't ready to give up wearing a bikini because of stretch marks from having my daughter. Dr. Spence and his nurses were very nice and seemed to know what they were doing. I had heard this was one of the top plastic surgeons around so I was willing to pay more and drive the 3 hours to have this surgery done correctly. However a year later I'm still in pain and have horrible life long scars that look 1000 times worse than the stretch marks themselves. (Which I mostly still have all of them remaining) my stomach is deformed and protruding and the belly button the created makes me look like an alien. I had to go back in 3 times to have stitches redone and got infections on top of all that. I will never be able to wear a bikini again and deal with pain and itching on a daily basis now. 15k later I highly regret going here! read more
