One star? Really? They came out to inspect my dad's sewer…read moresystem. Two came out. One older gentleman and one that looked like he should still be in high school. I just knew the older one was the more experienced one just because of age. Wrong. That young man was extremely thorough. Took his time. After doing a water test he knew there was a problem and just had to find it. Ran a camera down the pipe and saw nothing. Well that wasn't good enough. He knew a problem was there and he had to locate it. Ran the snake down the pipe to knock off the rust scale. Ran the camera back thru and found the crack he knew was there. I'm not sure of their cost, state farm paid them so I can't say anything about that. I'm sure they're pricey just like all the others.

I used Oliver Plumbing 2 times in the last couple of months to repair a leak and then subsequently…read moreto unclog a toilet for my mother who lives in Diboll. The first time they came out and were gone in about 30-40 minutes after repairing a leak for her. I was then charged for 1.5 hours of work despite my Mom having had literally timed the visit. I brought this up and was told "She must be mistaken". I paid but kept this in mind. The 2nd time they came out to unclog a toilet. 1st the plumber told Mom he wasn't supposed to use a snake in the toilet, then he did. The toilet was flushing now but he suggested we get the septic tank cleared out as well. We paid another company to come drain the tank the same day. The toilet almost immediately went back to barely flushing. Because of the first visit being overcharged we made sure to pay special attention to the time again. This time he was on site for 25 minutes. I called to make payment and sure enough 1.5 hours! I pushed back more this time as it was clearly a ploy they use. I was put on hold briefly then the owner essentially called my Mom a liar and added that we have to pay from the minute he drives off the plumbing yard until he returns. I have NEVER heard of that. Why would I pay for his travel time AND the time he spends doing the work? Please do not use this plumber. At worst they are scam artists and at best they take advantage of their customers as a habit.

A/c not working. Strickland sent out a tech who said there was no Freon in the system. There was a…read moreleak. Then asked if we wanted to add 3 lbs? Of Freon to the system for $240.00. I said hell no why add Freon if there's a leak? They then said that the coils in attic could not be fixed and a replacement could not be found, so the whole system would need replacing. This would run about $10k which we did not have at the time. They did not offer financing so referred us to someone else, who could have cared less if we got financing. My wife was handling the financing because I was at our other house in Arizona taking care of a water leak at the time. Anyway they wanted social security documents, bank statements and such which she gathered. When she contacted them on a Thursday they said they were busy, call back tomorrow. She had been without a/c for 3 weeks now in East Texas in September mid 90's. House was 90* inside. She called Friday, they said it was end of month; call Monday! A relative gave her the money for the install and they ordered the system which took a week. It only took a day to install, which was nice. The bad part was the greasy foot prints in the carpet from garage to thermostat and leftover installation materials left lying against the side of the house. I find it hard to believe that a a/c vendor does not offer financing. We own this house outright and have another house worth over 400k in Lake Havasu, Az seems like there should be a way to Finace a a/c unit. I wish we would have shopped around. Dave B.

I was quoted a price to replace a gas line from my lo gas tank to my hot water heater, it was over…read more$3,000! I thought that was excessive, but they said it was because it would take all day, and so paying for the line plus two people to work all day was why it would be so expensive. Well, I thought this was a Christian company, and I had to have it done ( or take cold showers ! Brrr!) so I agreed. The next day, sure enough, two men came out with a ditch digger, and ran over and broke my metal ramp, and finished the job in about two hours! Great, I thought, now it won't cost so much. But, NO! They charged the same price. I called to talk to the business manager, and they said since it was a quote, they don't adjust the price- even though they were done in two hours. I'm looking for a plumber today to do some work- guess which business I am NOT calling!
