We came to Hill Dentistry completely by accident--and I truly mean that. My wife had a serious fall that resulted in significant damage to her mouth, including the loss of several teeth. After getting through the emergency room and beginning the overwhelming search for a dentist, Dr. Hill's office was the only one that called us back--and the only one that could see her right away. What followed was a long and careful process to rebuild an upper bridge and replace missing teeth, and throughout it all Dr. Hill and his entire staff were exceptional. They are kind, patient, and genuinely caring, always willing to explain, help, and make what could have been a stressful experience feel manageable and humane. Because of that experience, I eventually became a patient myself--despite having severe dental anxiety. As a kid, I once totaled our family car... crashing into a car that happened to belong to our dentist at the time. Let's just say the dental work that followed left a lasting impression. So walking into a dental office is not easy for me. That said, I recently had a deep cleaning, a cracked tooth repaired, and a damaged crown fixed--and I can honestly say it was amazing. It was calm, professional, and almost entirely painless. For someone with real dental fear, that's saying a lot. Dr. Hill's team is hands-down the kindest and gentlest dental staff I've ever encountered. Everyone is super nice but I will be finding a new dentist. One of the crowns from my bottom front fell off and I went in to have it glued back on. It was quick and painless. When I got to the counter to check out I almost fell over when they told me the price. $429.00 for 10 mins and some glue?!?!? That is just totally insane! It's a nice office and they give out chapstick but that is just ridiculous! read more

I was so very disappointed to learn that Dr. Hill does not contract with Met Life insurance. I wondered on more than one occasion why my bill was so high and not once did the office reveal that they don't contract with my insurance, so I was paying 3/4 of the bill. I had asked one more than one occasion why my bill was so high and again, never got an answer. We had to find another dentist and did and what a difference. The least a patient is owed is the truth and it took me calling my insurance to find out the answer. DONT GO HERE. Makes me sad to change my review of a once amazing business. I spent 4 years getting my teeth done here. Their service and care USED to be exceptional, and now all they do is push cosmetic services. They spend more time trying to sell you things than they actually do cleaning teeth. 40 minutes in the waiting room, 15 minute lecture on cosmetics $$$, and like a 5 minute cleaning. Their prices are the highest in town, which would be warranted if they actually preformed the services well. Plus their office reeks of fake scented candles. read more

I made an appointment for my child, arrived a few minutes early and checked in. I had to take time off work and get him out of school early for their appointment. For the next hour we watched person after person get called back. I finally said something and the receptionist said "oh, I didn't see you sitting there and thought you had left." We hadn't moved. She unapologetically said we could wait until after he's done seeing his patients or re-schedule. It was difficult to orchestrate getting him to his appointment and I had to use PTO. I asked how long it would be and she said it could be the end of the day. I had to pick up my other child so that long wouldn't work. I called later and Dr Hill's wife answered. I told her what happened and I could hear her repeating what we said to someone in the background. She laughed and said that never happened. I was shocked and asked for my child's dental records and she said in a happy tone "there's really not much here and your new dentist can request them." I asked for them again and she refused a second time but then said that she would go ahead and notate their account and asked if we would all be leaving. We had never spoken to her before or had any problems until this incident. She was so very rude. read more

He and his assistant Courtney were very kind and compassionate to my special & unique situation!!! Good news ..... Where's the pain? Zero dental pain after a root canal, post, root lengthening procedure, and crown prepping all in one sitting. All the drilling and no swelling?? Dr Matt Hill, Hill Dentistry in Grants Pass is amazing!!! He incorporates the use of a laser in his practice. The laser causes minimal tissue damage, targeted decay removal, eradication of dental bacteria in the prepped tooth and APPARENTLY less post procedure pain. I watched Netflicks ( Black Mirror) with Bose' noise reduction headphones available for all patients at the office. A labradoodle roamed the office. (Not treatment area). Beautiful waiting area and the most artful tree outside. What a nice experience for a root canal! I'll never be nervous coming here again. Looking forward to my next two appointments. read more

Dr. Hill and his staff are definitely the best I have found in Southern Oregon. I have a dental phobia but they all made me feel comfortable and at ease. When you walk into the office it is like walking into a spa. It's a very calming atmosphere. The best part is that everyone is happy to be there. Dr. Hill was born to be a dentist. You can tell he has a passion for dentistry and he has a knack for dealing with nervous patients like me. I'm only sorry that I did not find them sooner. But better late than never. Oh shoot! I got a big chip on my front tooth on Sunday and I was feeling hideous! I called Hill and they fit me in for a bond which, by the way, turned out perfect! The shape was perfect, the color matched my teeth perfectly and I couldn't be happier. This is a very busy practice and I know a couple of people got home late just so they could help me out.
